Synopsis (via Wikipedia)
The series takes place in the fictional seaside town of Storybrooke, Maine, in which the residents are actually characters from various fairy tales and other stories that were transported to the "real world" town and robbed of their original memories by the Evil Queen Regina, using a powerful curse obtained from Rumplestiltskin. The residents of Storybrooke, where Regina is mayor, have lived an unchanging existence for 28 years, unaware of their own lack of aging. The town's only hope lies with a bail bonds-woman and bounty hunter named Emma Swan.

3rd season finale thoughts
Oh man did I love that 3rd season finale! I might have to watch the whole season again, actually. I don't openly squeal at a lot of things, but it was necessary for it :D Sooo shipping Hook x Emma. And Pan was great too! I think Neverland was the best realm in the whole series thus far. But poor Regina D: I feel like she's going to go back to being a villain in the next season.
Alright, I know you said "feel free to discuss your love for the show", but I've actually been super disappointed with OuaT for quite a while now. I loved season one, and season two was disappointing in comparison, but it was still okay - but three was just... awful.
Warning: There is a bit of a rant under the spoiler below. If you don't care to hear my opinion, don't read it. Simple, yes? Yes.
rant
In regards to my issues with season three specifically - it started right at the beginning and just nosedived from there. Neverland was terrible; everything of significance that happened could have been condensed into two episodes. The rest was all filler, and it dragged on forever with needless drama and bickering children (and I'm not even referring to the actual children). The sheer amount of filler tells me three things: Their writers aren't up to par, their plots are too weak, and in order to compensate for these, the show would benefit from being cut down to only 12 episodes per season. They simply don't have what it takes to flesh out a full 24 episodes.
I'll hand it to them - they tried to give us two new villains, which I can appreciate... on paper. In actuality, I hated both Pan and Zelena. Pan had a phenomenal actor, but had to deal with a shitty script (don't misunderstand me; I hated Pan as a character, I'm just acknowledging that the guy who played him was good). Zelena, however, was just terrible start to finish. Two-dimensional and cartoonish with a motivation not even the other characters could understand. I was very happy to see them both off. But now: Enter the cash cow that is Elsa (the Snow Queen). While I'll admit I am mildly curious to find out if they'll go the Disney route and make her a "misunderstood" good guy, or if they'll decide to use the original source material and make her next season's bad-guy, I seriously doubt I'll stick around to find out.
All that being said, those aren't even my main issues with the show ('cause those are technically resolved and thus should no longer prove to be an issue, right?).
The show's central focus used to be about the retelling of our favourite fairy-tale stories (even though the main villains were only ever Rumple or Regina; boy, did that get old fast), and focused heavily on Emma and Henry's relationship - and I miss that. Henry is barely even in it anymore; it's like as soon as he started getting older they were like "Shit, he's not cute anymore - quick, write him into the background!". Sure, he's not the strongest actor - but he started off as one of only a handful of main characters, and now he's been diluted to flimsy plot-fodder and, on a good day, scenery.
One of my biggest problems is that the series has become too focused on shameless fan-servicing, to the point where it feels like they've replaced their writing staff with a team of 14 year old girls. Personally, I think Hook and Emma are the most contrived couple with no actual chemistry I've ever seen in a TV show (also, Hook is Henry's step-grandfather - does no one else remember this?!). But, the "Captain Swan" fans were the loudest, so they made it happen - lest they lose viewers if they didn't. It's painful for me to watch. Yes, I can understand wanting to keep your fans happy, but you shouldn't have to compromise the integrity of entire show just to make that happen.
To make a long story short, they took everything I had once loved about the show, tossed it right out the window, and Frankenstein'd what was left with (I can only assume) Tumblr posts and fanfiction - and that's the OuaT we've been left with.
Yes, everyone is going to have their own opinions, and in a way I'm glad that there are people who still enjoy what I no longer can. But this is just how I personally feel about it. I'm not asking anyone to agree with me, I'm just expressing my opinion on the topic. Keep that in mind before jumping down my throat.
Anyways, that's my two cents - for what it's worth.
PS: Before anyone asks why I kept watching despite it all, I have one very simple answer for you: Robert Carlyle. I've been a fan of his for many years now - looong before OuaT came into existence. He's the main reason I started watching in the first place, and the only reason I continued to do so after I began to no longer enjoy it. Unfortunately, I don't think even he will be enough now. Oh well...
I'm currently watching season 2, only discovered the show recently. So far I like it; Emma, Snow and Mulan are getting a bit on my nerve, but there are enough other characters to make up for it.
Actually I did not read anything about the show so far, I'm trying to stay away from spoilers :)
When I started watching I was afraid it would be a bit too much like the 10th Kingdom, luckily it isn't - there are really awesome twists about the classic stories and sometimes it's just fun to guess who a new introduced character might be.
Anyway, until I'm through with season two and three I'll better stay away from this topic :D
Snow, Emma and Henry get on my nerves x_x I loved the 10th Kingdom so much.

Still not over Bae's death 😭 😭 😭
I loved Neverland so much. Wish there would have been more in Wonderland, I loved the Hatter <3
I feel so bad for Belle with Rumple lying to her and doing stuff behind her back like that.
Yeah Regina is gonna go evil on Emma's ass. I think she might go after Hook since her relationship with Robin Hood might be done now that his wife is back. Her new goal, destroy Emma's relationship.
I sooo don't ship Captain Swan XD Then again I never ship anything.
Also I need to express my love for the beauty of Hook's eyebrows <3
SPOILER (click to toggle)
NOT HOOK D: Hook needs more happiness, not sadness ;u; Also my gut tells me that Robin Hood's waifu is going to die anyways. Usually in stories people don't get very far when they try to deceive death.
Captain Swan is... alright. If Hook wants Swan then Hook can have Swan pets Hook can have everything <3 Swan isn't that great, but my biggest pet peeve is definitely Henry :c Wouldn't it be neat if they got a stronger protagonist next season instead of shoving "the savior" onwards just because she's the savior?
SPOILER (click to toggle)
If Regina does go after Hook and he dies I will lose hope in the show since Bae and Jefferson are gone XD
AH I didn't think about that, yeah Regina will probably go after his wife first.
I just finished watching season 3. Maybe someone could explain to me how to use this spoiler-thingy? I don't want to ruin anything for people who didn't watch that far yet, still I'd like to give my ideas
I agree they should develop more on Belle, always liked her. Also I think Regina is an interesting character (love her sarcasm); so is Red, though she could get a bit more spotlight, too.
I'm not too fond of the Captain Swan idea. Hook is a cool character, Emma - well, all of the "Charmings" annoy me.
[*spoiler] Just type between the spoiler tags and remove the 's :) [/spoiler] Yeah we need more Red too. I've never liked pirates, but Hook -fans self-

as much as i love the show, i'm honestly irritated with how it's being presented. especially after season one being so amazing and then two & three were dwindling greatly. &i honestly hope the whole captain swan thing is a joke. i don't even want to watch the next season, but where regina goes, i follow.
I enjoy the show as background noise while I work... my biggest complaint:

MUST WE with Frozen? Gah. facepalm
That is all. :P
I can finalyl post here!! The first 2 seasons were shown here in the UK WAAAAY aferthey first aired in the US, and then Channel 5 cancelled it...so I've had to watch the show in Other ways. Anyway, I managed to watch season 3 although it did take a while becaus I couldn't always be bothered, and I managed ot get my hands on Season 4 episode 1 as well. When season 4 is finished, or at least halfway finished if they're splitting the season into 2 parts, I'm considering doing a rewatch. There are a few episodes I missed in season 1, after all, and there are some things I forgot how they happened.

Just watched S4E1 today. It was alright, but I have to admit, it is ripping off Disney a bit too much. Well, even if Disney gave ABC the rights, they should have at least made the Frozen storyline a little more original. The troll looked almost like the ones in the movie. And Elsa could have done with a better dress as well, that one only really looked good in the animation. And there was Belle's dance as well, even playing "Beauty And The Beast" in the background. Don't think I dind't notice that. Other than that, it was still interesting.
I love the show but I hate the writers.
For the record I ship SwanQueen and I know all the hate that might occur but I'm willing to risk it.
Season 3 just seemed rushed and now season four is starting to feel that way too. They have so many stories and things they can work with but they aren't taking the right opportunities and instead they are wasting time on useless subplots. Don't even get me started about all the loose ends they need to tie up.
Working on filled wardrobe achievement. Almost at 12k!
I'm enjoying the series, and as one of the few who didn't think it dragged on at all, I found some of it rather rushed because they go back and forth and cover such a huuge expanse of time that I need it to slow down to keep track sometimes.
I'd love Mulan and Aurora/Phillip to come back though more..
I adore Rumbelle. Rumbelle pleases me to my core.
collecting I'm happy they introduced Elsa to the show, she's my new fav. princess pokes HA
I was a bit worried since I did not like the episodes with the "wicked" theme, it just seemed like a guest appearance to buy the writers some time XD
the show got back on it's feet with the new season so fingers crossed :D
Didn't really have you pegged as a once upon a time kinda girl :P
evil queen with awesome make-up
fantasy setting
rumbelle, rumbelle and rumbelle
what's not to like :D
I thought American horror story might be more your scene :p
you know I can't stand horror you meanie XD
plus I tried watching that and the first episode sucked so I let it goo, let it goooooo, turned away and slammed the door ❤
plus they brought Elsa to the show, it can suck all the way to friday I'd still watch it for her :D
