Hello fellow cosplayers!

So I'm trying to brainstorm ideas for a good pregnancy cosplay. My husband and I are expecting around November, so the conventions I want to go to - in September and maybe October - will be around the same time I start showing a nice big baby bump. While I am in full support of the idea that anyone can cosplay anything they want to, as long as they have fun doing it, I myself am I a diehard for detail and accuracy and hold my own self to high standards and actually being pregnant is a great opportunity to cosplay someone who is or was at one point pregnant.

I've had some great ideas and an anime community on Facebook gave me a million anime ideas - but I'm not actually a huge otaku (actually I'm not an otaku at all) so I was pretty unfamiliar with most of the characters suggested. I also had it suggested that my husband and I just cosplay a couple we ship, which could be pretty cute, but most of the couples I ship I feel either the two of us can't pull off our corresponding characters or else I feel weird about also impregnating the couple (specific example, Edge and Rydia from Final Fantasy IV - also I don't want to make a Rydia cosplay for when I'm pregnant because I'd like to wear it when I'm not).

So far, I'm thinking either we'll just do Hughes and his wife before their lil' girl was born (FullMetal Alchemist) or else maybe we'll do me as a Chancy and him as...something else pokemon-related. A ditto, maybe, for the lawlz. I'd really like to do Hughes - and my husband could pull it off - but he's actually never read or watched FMA (which IS easily remedied) and also I don't think I could make a military suit. I could buy one, there is nothing wrong with buying one, but I love the feel of wearing something I made myself. But I'm not crossing it off the list.

Anyway, this is what we've had thusfar - any of you have any other ideas? I'm fairly well versed in many videogames, and even if I'm not a member of the fandom, I'm well-versed in many of the very big fandoms around as well.

That could be interesting...with some interesting implications XD Our baby was actually planned and we will be keeping it. But I'll add it to our list of considerations :)

Aware of Game of Thrones, but more ignorant of the actual story than other fandoms of which I'm not part. Thank you for the suggestion :)

How about Pacha's wife Chicha from The Emperor's New Groove? The couple would work especially well if your hubby's a big guy.

Not sure if you like or follow Naruto, but Kurenai was pregnant for a while and hubby could go as Asuma.

XD While my husband very much so appreciates the idea of doing Kif and Amy (burst out laughing at how awesome that idea is), he doesn't think he could pull off Amy. Maybe I can talk him into it by our next pregnancy.

There was a specific scene from Trigun where Millie Thompson faked being pregnant. Her outfit isn't particularly cumbersome, so that might work?

I'm weird, my mind instantly thought of Alien. Like an alien popping out of the stomach. It'd be fairly simple to do. I'm new here so I'm not too sure how to posts pics but if you go to google and type in alien pregnant cosplay, you'll see what I mean. Lol, Ibut like I said, I'm a weirdo. x)

You could do your own spin on Mother Earth and Father Time. You could dress your bump as an "earth," while dressing your self as a seer/witch type character and use your bump like a crystal ball.
