okay, don't take anything i am saying as a dumb complaint - it's not. i LOVE my ha, and i've had it for a while now, and i think i will for a while more. i'm just curious as to why people don't really like it, and what is popular or not in the subeta fashion world.

usually i get a handful of mentions on WADYL, and mark high on rate the above and win most of the time on those whose avatar is better games. but this one, i get like 6/10's and no mentions, and i haven't won once. (hahahha, i sound so petty!)

i'll always continue to make what i like no matter what people think, but i'm seriously just super curious: why is it this HA is not attractive to many users? and what is?

i followed all the "rules" (color balance, good matching, etc.) but still people are put off by it.

i wonder why- any ideas?

I think it might be because of the face personally. I mean, I like everything really except I've never been a huge fan of that makeup kit. :x Soooo, maybe some other people feel like same way as me?

Probably because it's unique.

I actually really, really like it, you combined the 'style' of Subeta and put your own spin on it, and it meshs well! Most probably don';t like it because it's outside the box, but you have to remember not everyone is artistic or thinks outside of said box.

But I really like it. :)

I absolutely LOVE this HA. Dear I've made so many HAs that haven't been mentioned on WADYL once but they matched properly and looked balanced and I really thought they looked great. It's just what attracts the eye of others. Some people like it, some don't. Don't take it personally, happens to me all the time and you know what, I personally prefer one great comment about my HA than a bunch of post-and-mentions. Don't feel down :]

I don't like it because of the colors, especially of the sleeves/dress, don't quite match. I'm also really put off by the face makeup and the hooves. The horns I can tolerate, and in fact I'd love using them more than I do now, but I can't really stand most, if not all, animal body parts. :x

i'm not looking for suggestions! the face is actually what i based the whole ha off, and the eyes are my favorite part (also, the lips are impossible to cover because they are too low, but i like them that way)

:3 As mentioned earlier, some people like it, some people don't. I know how you must feel though. I REALLY love your avatar style...but I have to admit truthfully, it's the face that puts me off of your current one. It seems a bit disproportionate to me. But that's only my opinion. The rest is super cute.

It really does suck when you have an HA you really, really like and people don't seem to like it. It's happened to me waaaay more times than I can count. All I can say is buck up. (Har, deer joke.) I know you're a really good HA'er, and I don't doubt that you'll come up with some spiffy stuff in the future. nwn

I personally really like this, and I have mentioned it on WADYL |D It's funny, because the face actually reminds me of your drawing style, which is probably why you like it. Although I'm not, I agree that many people are turned off to the makeup. If you like it and wanna stick with it, then that's great. But if you're looking for mentions on threads and high ratings, I would make sure that my next avatar doesn't include this makeup.

But the only one who really needs to love it is you, so at least you've got that down c;

i will often base an avatar off of a particular item, and end up taking it off in the end because it just looks better without.

i do love this avatar from the neck down though!

sry, but the face is rly ugly to me...D= I just dont like it at all...but the outfit is rly nice! ^^

hahhaha, yeah.. that's why i like it too (it that self-centered? to like the item because it looks like my art? also i guess that justifies my sadness when people say it's ugly... i think it's really cool looking- the saggy eyes and red eyeliner are just beautiful to me!)

and yeah, i'm def. over ratings etc, it's just interesting to see what the trends people follow on subeta, and what their first impressions are.

Your color choices and layering are really awesome in my opinion. I'm positive that the mask and animal features are the reason you don't win or get mentioned too often. However... I think if anyone should be allowed to rock that mask, it's you. I've seen your art and the face of that avatar reminds me of your drawing style. Your avatar is totally bitchin' and I'd be sad to see you change it because it doesn't get enough acknowledgment!

I like your deer people avatars, for whatever that counts. I also like the shirt, vest, jacket thing you've got on. It looks like something someone would wear.

I wouldn't take not being posted in that 'Whose Avatar Do You Love?' thread as any kind of an indicator for how good/bad your avatar is. Of course, I don't really follow that thread; I don't need to see the same avatars over and over again, or do I care much for the 'match all shades! put shades everywhere! don't use default hair! no animal parts! small eyes only!' etc that get brought up.

So... you ask "{...} why is it this HA is not attractive to many users? {...}" Probably because the shades are not close enough, they tend to not use the kits, you're not wearing enough straps on your feet or enough shoes, you're got on animal parts, and maybe because it's subdued. All browns, cream, dark red. Take that for whatever it's worth because I have little idea where the trends on here came from or why they are. .-.;

(because of my new OC, oona) people claim to hate animal items, but i have noticed many people using the animals items i use a LOT recently. blir's current avatar, for example, is wearing 6 [b]EDIT: 8[/B] items from my last ha, including the horns/hooves. my buddy PARO's ha a little while ago featured these horns, and she was mentioned on every page for a long time.

i'm not claiming credit for starting a trend (even though, i think i might have? i get comments nearly every day asking what item my horns are) - if animal items are so unpopular, why are so many using them?

I only say the animal parts are unpopular because I rarely see any avatars using them mentioned on WADYL (the best place to find out what's hot and what's not currently). In fact, yours is one of very few that gets multiple mentions. The sad thing is, if all the hottest, hippest avatar makers started using animal parts, they'd suddenly be all the rage.

If you want your avatar to be admired, keep it as it is. If you want your avatar to be plastered all over WADYL, follow a current trend or start a new trend that catches on.

I personally love your ha. Is not something you see everyday, it's quite unique, that's what I like the best. You have your own HA-making style (:

It sadens me to see this as I personally love your HA :C Its unique and original unlike avatars which feature popular items just becuase its popular and don't look nice at all.
