I randomly looked through the comments on the front news page on the new wigs, and I've come to realize that some people just talk to make sure they're still alive. I mean is it necessary to say "...glad I missed the restock it's an ugly wig anyway"?

Yes, you're allowed to have an opinion.

Yes, it's a public forum and I know all kinds of knuckle heads are on it.

All I'm trying to say is if I were an artist and I worked hard to come up with a new item and people poohed it I would hesitate to make another.

So, I guess it's 95% complain, and 5% thanks- to the artist who made the new disheveled wig, I adore it.

I agree. I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion, but why post your opinion if you're only doing it to be a jerk ? It happens all the time when new items and pets come out and it's like... if the artists never wanted to draw for us again, I'd understand. People can be so unappreciative and heartless.

Artists are humans too, remember.

What bugs me the most is that those people don't offer any suggestions for what they would like to see, or at least say exactly what it is they don't like.

What a disgusting thing to say! I wish people would just think before they started posting. The art on the wigs is gorgeous, no one can fault it. Oh wait, but they can. It's pathetic, really. There are a few items I probably won't wear but I'd never say nasty things about them since, you know, someone actually drew them. It's a shame not all people seem to realise this.

I agree, people complain about the art ALL of the time, so much that it almost negates all of the positive comments the artists get. :/ They deserve better for the work they do.

If you're going to complain, at least offer some constructive criticism? D:

I agree. The wig isn't my style, but I have seen it used wonderfully on several HAs, and I know that it is a lovely art piece. Even if I didn't like it, I wouldn't go and just blatantly say it like that. It is rude. One of our wonderful artists put effort into that item, and it shouldn't be treated like dirt. :/

quoting for emphasis. If someone has such a problem with the art that they have to go out of their way to criticize without being any help to anyone's improvement, why the hell are they on here to begin with?

I personally found the wig very tasteful, and the artists are doing a wonderful job.

Not sure where you're looking, but the Subeta I play is 30% 'kiss the artists' ass', 65% "like/love/adore the art" and 5% "hate it".

Not criticizing unless you can do better, and not speaking unless you have something nice to say are bullshit ways of behaviour, even though they mean well.

When you have something to say, say it. If you don't like something, by all means, share your opinion.

I wouldn't let a few complaints get to me if I were an artists, considering the amount of praise I'd receive every day.

Although the wig isn't my style, I have to say some people did a very nice job working with it. I personally probably wouldn't be able to, but that in no way means that it isn't a great wig.

Even if it is 'ugly' the least these people could do is give the artist constructive criticism, rather than leaving the poor girl hanging over a cliff :/

Although, I must say it is a gorgeous wig, even if I couldn't match it :P Finally the guys get something to work with lol

QTF.

I think if someone doesn't like something, ex; a wig, if I was the artist I'd like to know what they didn't like and possibly what they're looking for for an idea for another wig. But on the other hand, the site isn't catering to everyone's individual needs because that's just silly. If you don't like something, you don't like it, and feel free to say so - but don't just say 'Because it's ugly'. That's a bit rude imho.

my parents use to tell me this as well. But it didn't really stick, while i do complain about a lot i pretty much always provide some alternative if allowed.

As of late subeta artists are creating better and more detailed clothing. A drastic improvement from when i joined 6 months ago. also comparing easier versions, and some older clothes that have yet to be revamped, i have to say that as the site gets older, the art becomes less childish. While the Forlorn Chestnut Locks, actually doesn't look all that great to me, the art is amazing. its just that sweep over the face that's a little odd to me. The plus side is that the wig makes great combos with other existing brunette wigs. As for the current new tokenshop wig, i can see why most will not like it, for one its a male wig, but is doing one bad ass job creating a more feminine look to it. It really just depends on how you use it. I personally think its amazing, the shading, highlights and outlines are just superb.

bottom line is that i whole hearty agree that if there is a complaint, a alternative should always be provided. Mainly because this site depends on it's users. saying something is ugly, with no reason pretty much gets you no where. how else can the artist improve/change if you don't prove some sort of idea behind it.

LOL I saw that comment, too. Honestly sometimes I want to say something snide and bitter because I missed an RS (bawww) but whenever I see a comment like that it makes me laugh and realize it's just a game and at the end of the day none of the items in your ''wardrobe'' mean ANYTHING.

The wig went promptly on my WL, regardless. haha :neko:

Mwahaha! This applies to the B&C forums as well [note my forum]. But people will always say that they're "expressing their opinions" to try and excuse their behavior. You can express your opinions without being a ragging douche about it. There's no point and being a jerk just because you have a computer screen to hide behind.

Artists are most of what make this site possible. At least show a little respect. Even if you don't like it, it's not really going to gain you any favoritism or make people think you're cool because you can chat-bash someone and/or their talents via the internet. Even though I dislike oodles of things I don't really care. My wishlist is proof enough that the artists are still majoritally awesome. (Yes... I made up that word.)

...Yeah, I can't believe people actually say things like that. It's one thing to say what's wrong and why, but to just say it's ugly? How does help anyone improve? Not only that, but it sure makes you feel like crap.

Thank you artists! You're all amazing irreguardless of what those stupid noobs say.

Oh, it's definitely rude and uncalled for.

However, at the rate at which Subeta artists pound out items -- I wouldn't be too disappointed as an artist. They bust out so many a month. And not every item is a crowd favorite. They have their omgamazing items, and then they have their, eh, not the best (maybe even ugly) items.

It's funny, though. We often look back and talk about how outdated pieces of Subeta art needs to be redone because the shading looks like a Neopet's artist did it, the lines are fucked up, the anatomy is horrible. You know, as if the passage of time justifies a bashing. (But don't worry about Neopet's artists -- they don't have feelings.)

All in all -- there really is no justification for their rudeness, but not every item is going to be a winner. And I am sure those exact people absolutely love an item that is drawn by the same artist who did the wig -- with or without knowledge.

Edit -- Oh, and just because someone thinks a piece of work is ugly does not automatically translate to them undermining the artist's ability. I think Legacia's are ugly. But the artwork is still Subeta-styled and gorgeous. I just personally find the creature to not be appealing -- not that the art sucks.
