its been TWO WEEKS since my dentist had apparently "FIXED" a cavity I had.

my mom said that she saw no cavity, and I felt no pain in my teeth, but my dentist insisted that there was a cavity. so ever since she's 'fixed' my tooth, it hurts to bite on the right side of my mouth. and I though it would go away after a while, but its been TWO WEEKS. those pains are NOT supposed to last that long.

my mom also callled the dentist a while ago, but she STILL refused to fix it because it would apparently go a way a few days later. the pains in my teeth have gotten worse and it hurts like a bitch to eat now.

fucking money hungry bitch dentist.

Maybe they didn't seal the filling correctly or something? I'd go in anyway and complain until they let you go back and see what's going on.

your forumtext sucks major donkey cock. use quotes for what they should be used.

that said, i had a bad experience with a dentist. after 18 years, i got a different dentist. a woman, an immigrant. she said she saw at least 7 cavities and 10 that could become cavities. i had to come back for 3 visits, and then another 2 cause she fucked up my teeth. they still hurt.

Rofl. Come on now Stijn be nice. Her forumtext is.. unique :)

And I had that too. I had a soft spot, but I was so worried cuz I have never had a cavity before but I was pregnant, it's common for your teeth to get week.. but they insisted I was going to get a cavity so I let them fix it. Then they ended up doing it SILVER when I specifically asked for white!

OMFG. I hate dentists in general. They are the dumbest fucks on the planet.

I highly suggest finding another dentist to look at it if this one is refusing to fix the problem they caused.

Ugh, I've had so much bad luck with dental stuff myself, but thankfully nothing like that. Mostly it's just that I'm highly phobic of needles, and so I need to actually go to the hospital to be gassed under before they can stick me with anything and be able to take care of cavities or other dental work like that. It really sucked for awhile, because my main dentist couldn't do it, so we'd have to look around for a dental surgeon who could, but it was really hard to find one who freakin' understood the fact that you cannot stick needles near me, I will bite/punch/kick you, if not having an entire phobic breakdown before I even get in the damn chair x.x (and that happens even if I'm on orally taken sedatives before-hand!)

I loooove my dentist. He's a Georgetown alum and we spend the time discussing music (they let you pick from millions of xm stations) and the good life. And perfect teeth. And he tells me that mine are within 3 shades of the perfect white.

fdhgdfhg i have a little crush. :x rapes out the ass with price, but soo worth it.

Yeah when I used to go to the dentist I'd keep magically getting cavities in the same teeth, even AFTER she got rid of them. She insisted it was 'very rare' but the funny thing was both me and my little sister kept getting them.

I haven't been there in a couple years, but my teeth are still holding up fine.

I don't see the point of going to the dentist unless your teeth are hurting or something along those lines. I don't view it on the same page as a doctor's visit...

Uh, you should go at least every six months. You need to go for cleanings and regular check up appointments. They're just as important as regular MD visits, in my opinion.

Sounds almost like what happened to me when I was 12. I went to the dentist for the first time, and I didn't have any cavities. They gave me a cleaning, all was well. A year later, I went back, and I had 3 cavities. I swear that cleaning shit wore down the enamel or something in my teeth, because I didn't eat more sugar that year or anything. A little while later I went to a different dentist because I had another cavity in my tooth. So I got it filled. When I got home and looked at it, I thought it was weird that the filling was in the side of my tooth in the middle, even though the cavity was on the top of my tooth in the back. I shrugged it off, figuring the dentist knew what they were doing. The cavity grew and grew, 4 years later it hurt like a fucking bitch, parts of my tooth were falling off, and it finally had to be removed completely.

Dentists can go fuck themselves. I haven't been to a dentist since I got that tooth removed (and technically they were only dental students), and I loathe the thought of ever having to go to another one.

I remember my first dentist and an incident that happened when I was about 7 or so.

I went in to get a filling done, he gave me a couple shots from what I remember, but I could still feel everything. He kept on drilling through the entire thing even though I was writhing around and nearly ripping the arms of the chairs, I'm pretty sure he said I'd be fine... Needless to say, I didn't go back there.

For the coming years I was terrified to go to the dentist and I ended up with a shitload of cavities. I have a much better dentist now, though. c:

I agree. It's important to get the hardened plaque cleaned off of your teeth to keep your gums healthy, and you can't get that stuff off on your own. If your gums get infected, it can be harmful to your entire body.

Yea, the same thing happened to me (couldn't see a hole on the external enamel), except there was no pain before or after she fixed the 'cavity.' They do have x-rays that can show you internal decay though. If you insisted on seeing those, they will show you.

Is it really necessary to put a cuss word like that in the title? Anyways, a lot of cavities won't be visible. I had a ton of dental work done, and cavities can occur in between the teeth, as well as areas that simply aren't visible to your mother. Cavities don't always appear as a black/darkened area. However, with that said, it is not normal to have pain going on for that long. The filling may not have been made properly, or you may have needed a root canal, as opposed to a cavity.

I'd suggest going to a completely different dentist for a look over. If it's hurting that much, there's a good chance that it was a sloppy job on the Dentist's part, and you could be at risk for an Infection.

D: I wish i could get to a dentist.

I have a pretty bad toothache that makes it difficult to eat, but sleeping and applying any pressure on the outside of my neck/jaw at all also hurts.

Just be thankful you're not paying out of pocket :/

You and your mom are not dentists. X-rays can show what the human eye cannot see.

I had one of those two years ago. My old dentist retired, and a new guy moved into his practice. He seemed nice enough at first, but suddenly I had a cavity in the back tooth of the upper-right side of my mouth...one I didn't feel any discomfort with, and that the hygienist didn't see. Anyway, I go in to get it filled, and he drills away half my fucking tooth. Literally. Then he slaps on a shitty filling that falls to pieces a few weeks later. By this time he'd done shoddy work on questionable "cavities" for several other people, so we bailed and went to another practice in town.

Now all the old hygienists from the old place work at the place were I go for dentistry, and the new guy back at the old office is being dragged to court for several lawsuits.

Bad news is that my tooth is completely ruined now. I expect it'll have to be pulled out eventually, there's not enough left of it to easily repair. I hope your tooth turns out to be alright :(
