I have no idea what it is but whenever I see a person using the word 'noob' it bothers the crap out of me. Of course I know it is an accepted term and I have nothing against those who use it, but for some reason it just bothers me o.o

It also bothers me when they use it interchangeably with "newbie". n00b is much more derogatory and newbie just refers to somebody new to the website/game. Big difference. :0(

exactly. Its kind of pathetic that I judge anyone using that word seriously. It comes from seeing the actual 'newbies' (I couldn't bring myself to say it x.x) spam it all over the place

Official words. Rofl. I hadn't seen anyone say it for about a month before I saw this thread. But I'm sure a lot of people do say it, don't call me antisocial for not noticing. Noob is more of a neopets word. If people can't think of better adjectives that's their problem.

back on topic: tbh i don't see it much, however it just sounds so... childish, i guess. i used it when i went through a 'holier-than-thou' phase though :B

Noob and newb are two totally different things IMO. A newbie is a term for new people, and noob would be an insult to people who aren't new and act like they are new. (Aka, dumbfounded, stupid, illiterate)

Its not a -neopets word- lol its a general internet term. But yeah noob gets obnoxious since most people toss it out there to be douches and whatnot.

newbie however is just fine with me.

I even feel like noob could be insulting towards a newbie! If I was new and I saw someone being called a noob I'd feel like I didn't want to share a common term with them even though I am actually a newbie.

I mean 'It's more of a neopets word' as it belongs more on neopets than subeta. When I was on neopets I would maybe see people using it 7 times a day or so. Hence reference. xD

I hate, hate, hate when people go down to say noob or n00b or sn00biez to people. Like, superiority complex much? You're not god's gift to Subeta (Unless you're ) so stop that.

And, most people calling people noob were probably as ridiculous and clueless when they joined. I remember a lot of things. :)

That is a word that needs to be saved for very special occasions. Like when someone offers 10K on a legendary in the trade center with the message. Please, please, please!!?? All the sPs I have! :( If used too frequently it loses it's meaning. It is so very special in fact, I will not be using it in this post. :D
