Anyone read it?
Basically it's about mary sue meeting stalker gary sue, it's a bit like twilight. Also very incorrect bdsm for housewives.
I cannot..uhhmm..form words to express how bad I thought it was. I've only read the first book but dear god. I think I cried a little.
First of all I cry and laugh and cry a bit more when it says "...there" instead of either vagina or clitoris. Then the fact that they've got the whole bdsm thing wrong, but that's just the sex scenes, and the site's a bit too pg13 to discuss that.
Then there's the fact that it's apparently romantic to stalk someone from three thousand miles. Twilight, anyone?
I have actually tried to read this book as well at someone's recomandation but could only read about half of it. It's just empty and a tipical tale that only an overly romantic head in the clouds not realistic in her thinking housewife would like. The book offers nothing and the male character is too 'dazzling' and 'perfect' in the heroine's eyes.
i still need to read it because it seems so fucking hilarious.

I had no interest in reading it before and now, after finding a tumblr about the ridiculousness of it, I have even less interest in reading it. My mom read all three books and after reading some reviews and quotes from the book I went up to her and said, "How did you read this?"
Just the majority of the quotes on that tumblr were so horrible that I actually Googled to see if they were in a real published book that was considered a best seller. Then I read that it was originally a fanfiction of Twilight and the names were just changed and now it makes a lot more sense. But still, it's just...not even sexy. It just all made me cringe.
Here's the funny tumblr about the series: http://50shadesofwat.tumblr.com/
I know someone who read it and suggested it... lol. I read the back and was like watno. Even the description sounds lame. Not something I'd bother to try reading;;;
I already like that tumblr. I open it and see this;
I love Brides Maids. ;__;
i was somehow dragged into reading it and didn't even get past the first chapter.... it does not surprise me that it was a ff for twilight....it is written just as terribly
I've read excerpts from it and it saddens me that it's a best seller. Proof that reading alone doesn't make you smart.

I read it. I gave into the hype and actually wanted to know how much she stole from Twilight to write it, so I read them all. I normally don't admit to reading it... but yeah it was terrible. full of cliches and typos... which made me think that she didn't even have the books edited, or the editor didn't care about their job.
I honestly think this book is a bestseller because it's bad. People buy it to read it because it's hilariously bad. X;D I was preparing for a long train journey a while back and had this or Hunger Games to pick between. I'm so glad I picked the latter book.
Honestly, I have never read the book, but I'm seriously tired of people talking shit about it. (first Twilight now this? LOL)
I'm not a novel person myself, but still.

I've seen some quotes and listened to part of the audiobook... I was dying. The amount of times she refers to her inner goddess is too damn high.

I actually tried to start reading this for the lulz, but I finished the first chapter and then quit. haha. It's gotta be pretty bad if I can't even laugh at it properly. xD
I'm reading the quotes on that Tumblr now, and I think those are all I need.
I've heard a lot about it, and my mom ordered them (I don't think she's quite prepared herself for what she's about to read), so I'll probably give them a look-over. From what I've heard, the book is hilariously bad with even worse sex scenes.
I just started the first one, as I got curious about everyone talking about it.
As a non-native English speaker, it's amusing how easy it is to read. Her English isn't really ... sophisticated, lol. I'm only 3 chapters in, so I'm not at the juicy bits yet, but so far it sounds like the typical "naive young woman in the grip of manipulating older man" kind of thing.
I guess I do get the hype though, as it's something I do want to read out just to see what happens. We'll see how it goes. :)
I read all three books. UGH. Can I have that time back? I know it was originally a Twilight Fanfic story, and to me it read like fanfiction. Heck, I've read fanfiction that was better. There was nothing extremely special about it. I really can't wait for the popularity to pass.
My friend gave it to me I can't get over the whole
"I'm tall, skinny and I have a degree in journalism. No man will ever want me" attitude Ana has.
This is a horrible, horrible book.
I agree with you on the "there" bits, lol. I'm just halfway through the first book now, and I cannot believe how many "repeats" I've seen already. It's like, once she's found an expression she likes, she just keeps using it. I'm lol'ing every time she going on about her "inner goddess" again. Seems like she has to use those words every other page. :P
It started out as a Twilight fanfiction; which is why there's so many likenesses. It's been dubbed "Mommy porn"
From the excerpts that I've read my opinions are: I've read better smut. I've read better fanfiction. I've read better smut in fanfiction.
It beggars belief how the books got published. And that they're popular. Ah well, the old adage about a fool and his money.
EDIT:
Just want to say, if I want to read kinky BDSM fanfic, I'd go to a kinkmeme. I'd find better quality stuff there as well. In fact I have
