Sending gifts in kumos doesn't work at all

I tried 3 days ago to send a gift, nothing to do with Drills, just giving a gift to a friend.
I waited and there was an update in the news about the new system being updated so 25 items could be sent, so I hoped the glitch was fixed.
I just tried to send a gift, 22 items, and I get the same error that I got the other day: no users found.
I am copying a pasting the recipient, their UN, and nothing happens and all items remain in my inventory so I'm not losing items but I have no other option for gifting. It's not as if I'm still able to use the legacy gifting.
Same here, I can't send any gifts to friends anymore. It lets me choose the "send gift" button but when you click it, it seems like the gift was sent but it's still in the inventory. So sad for our birthday babies now!
Yes it's sad and also very annoying. I used to LOVE giving gifts but now ???

Sending gifts has two new steps now that are a bit tricky:

When you click the checkbox for the item(s) you want to send, you also need to click Add Selected Items to add them to the gift. If you don't do this, the "Send Gift" button won't even be clickable.

You need to type in the recipient's name, then select their username from the dropdown. This one can be finnicky and I think Keith was in the process of improving it. I don't think copying and pasting will work because I also get the "No Users Found" error when I try that.
Absolutely cannot stand sending gifts now! It's too complicated. I hope it gets better.
I wish the old site was still an option, it was much more intuitive before
Thanks that's very useful, I'll have to try it, but I agree with that it's too complicated, so I hope that Keith does improve it.
So far I put all the gifts into trades and I haven't even told the intended recipient, but it's not close to two weeks just yet.
