The other day I noticed a new item appear in the directory, with the Free Gift rarity, but no matter how much I refresh the news on either version of the website, there is no news post about it. So I wanted to know why it isn't out yet, since most items are released not long after they're added these days. Did you forget to make a news post about it? Or did you make one and it failed to post? Or did something come up in real life that prevented you from making the post right away? I haven't even checked if you can receive the gift already, since I feel like I'm not allowed to until there's a news post about it.

Good catch! Sometimes they do "upload" items to the site ahead of release, so it may be planned for an upcoming date or event!

I feel like it's not a super spoiler to say this, since someone received it already in the Discord:

Apparently there is supposed to be a Newsletter that gives out the item with a reward link (like we've gotten a few before, but it's been a while since the last one). I'm not sure if it's still going out properly though, as I've only really seen one person mention they got the email so far. I have not gotten the email myself yet, even though I had gotten the previous newsletters when they were sent.

Not sure if it's worth pinging to let you know about this, it may have been mentioned in the Discord chat already as well.

Oh, I completely forgot the newsletter was a thing, there hasn't been one in years. I can't find it even in my spam folder. Maybe because it's been such a long time they need to renew our email subscriptions or something? Or give us a way to do that?

I received the newsletter email this morning. From what I remember in the past they sent it out in batches so not everyone received it at the same time.

I don't know why but I switched my email at some point. Still got my original hotmail from 2007. It lives on in spite.

Sorry if I seemed rude with that first post. Like I said, I completely forgot the newsletter was a thing and that it used to give out free gifts. I was just confused at why there was an item sitting in the directory for days without a news post for the first time in a while. Maybe there should be a post in the forums telling us to expect a newsletter, but I'd understand if you wanted to wait until you were sure everyone should have had it already.

I'm really glad you made this post. I had no idea about this item, but now I see that it's the one food my gourmand is missing. Kind of annoyed that I can't do anything about that until I get this newsletter and I haven't gotten it yet so I'm a little concerned about it. I don't think I ever got the last one, even though my email is current and hasn't changed in many years. At least now I know to look out for it...

If it's going in alphapetical order of usernames, or chronological order of when users joined, then it might be a while (even for me, at 12 years). If not everyone gets it, I hope they can rerelease the item sooner rather than later.

so how slow is "going out a little slower" looking like it's going to be? a few days? a few weeks? i'm keeping an eye out but it might help to have some sense of what sort of time frame i should be looking for...

I hope not, I don't remember how you subscribed to them in the first place, I think it was automatic when you first joined without a way to opt out of it? I'm worried that we might not all get it because we accidentally unsubscribed or slipped off the list (like how I've noticed sometimes items that I'm sure I've wishlisted have slipped off).

Don't worry about that. If you click on the free gift button at the Fast Food Center, you get this message: Here you--wait, you've been here before. Shame on you for trying to take an extra gift when there are poor starving pets out there! This isn't a daily hand out, you know. Now why don't you make up for this by donating some food to my free food center and we'll pretend this never happened, hmm?

So nothing bad happens if you click on it, it keeps track if you got the last free gift and it's nice to have that there in case someone wonders if they missed one.

Is the newsletter email still coming from: support @ subeta.net ... or is there a new kumos one?

Guess the newsletter gifts are on a separate link, then. So we can't use a loophole. I also want to see what's in this newsletter before someone else spoils it.
