i'm sure this has been reported before and maybe it's already known and/or being worked on, but i feel like i haven't heard anything about it this year and other people are now encountering it and being confused.

when you use the human zapper during morostide, there is sometimes a chance (which i figured out by accident) that you'll be able to zap again immediately (for free? haven't actually checked that part) instead of having to wait for the usual cooldown time. i can only assume this is the "free human zap buff"—unfortunately, you don't get any sort of notification indicating you've received this buff, nor does an icon appear in the sidebar where active buffs would normally be visible.

so what ends up happening to most people is they randomly get a notification informing them that their free human zap buff has expired, even though they never knew they had this buff to begin with, or that it was even a possibility.

I’ve been having this one happen to me a LOT. Like, if I am getting a free zap I’d like to at least be aware of it within its time frame. TAT

yeah, for a while i (and most people) assumed it was just a weird bugged notification, and no such buff actually existed. but the fact that i've been able to zap again immediately after the last attempt makes me think it is a real buff, and we're just not being notified when we get it.

It has been a real buff in the past. I got the notification that my free human zap buff expired but I never knew I had one in the first place.

it's the same problem from 2021 - "free" human zap buff issues

the buff exists, but you have to check for it immediately after zapping via the buff page, and it's not free, it just skips the 90 minute wait (i just got the buff, and i can confirm it cost me 50 tokens when i did my "free" zap).

Thanks for bringing this up my sister got the notice that her buff expired but I hadn't heard of it before. Just now I tried to zap for free a second time not because of the buff but because I wanted to find out the wait time and I figured if I tried again it would tell me but then it just zapped me again. Now I know what happened.

I wouldn’t have mind if it wasn’t completely free(maybe take out the word free in that event tab text.) Just wish I had known I had another shot at it sooner U nU
