I've been noticing this for a while now but a lot of newer wardrobe items cover the hands. Currently my HA is wearing a tunic that partially covers them, and a skirt that covers them entirely. This completely excludes being able to use held items without everything looking wrong. Gloves can help a little bit but even that can get a little tricky.
I think it has to do with not wanting to have the hand cutout on items? Hmm this allows for people to use items, like posed limbs, etc.
I've got a hen to pluck with that because I don't want to be fighting the hand cutout or the lack thereof on certain items.
Sometimes, I want it, sometimes, I really don't. Other times, I just want to bring that thumb around to the front side of something. Too bad we can't get like... fake fingers like you get during Halloween in the base colors, nah, that'd be too easy a solution.

[item=Single Sheer Glove (Base 2)] + [item=Discarded Sheer Glove (Base 2)] over the skirt but under the tunic help this issue
The body of the tunic also covers the thumb a little (as far as this specific item set goes) but IMO it works well enough for held items
Just having the hands as individual base pieces that can be moved would be very useful.
gasp Bless you.

Even with the gloves it's still an issue if you want to use them with a long sleeved shirt tucked under a bottom that covers the hand. Like that tunic really looks better tucked under the skirt and looks like it was intended that way. But then you either have the hand hidden or if you try to use a sheer glove you end up with this

Which is why we really need similar gloves that only cover the hand single sheer glove that just covers the hand
I find this annoying as well because the Tavern Wench skirts and tunics would be so much better if we could hold something in at least one hand. I know layering the tunic over the skirt allows this but it seems that the skirts are designed to be worn under the tunics because they look much better that way.
It'd be awesome if there was a small section in the Base section that'd just have a couple of hand combinations or even an item. Something in different poses or positions? It'd certainly solve this problem! Sure the gloves work for that, but it's still frustrating...
I've been debating making a thread in the avatar forum to ask if anything like this already existed, because I wanted to do exactly that. I knew the glove did, but it does go way higher than I thought.
well now i know
[edit]oh I should probably answer the question. I try to keep from cutting stuff out when I can just in case anybody wants to use it with the differently posed arms or something. Easier to make an item to cover it later than to have that awkward thumb hole, or edit an existing item.
I'd love if we could reposition the limbs' layers like we do with the clothes. Because I don't like having the hand cut out on my clothes, but sometimes i want my hands to show :/
On the other side, I like change the hand/arm pose and I can't do it if an item has the skirt/pants hand silluette cut.
Oh nice, I'm wishisting those
I think this would be a pretty great solution, but I also don’t know how difficult it’d be to code. We do have the “toggle hand/arm/toes/foot/leg” already, so maybe using what Subeta has set up with that could make it easier to do?
(I know almost nothing about coding, so this is just the musing of a person w/o actual background knowledge on the subject.)
