isn't super active on the forums, which is something you've mentioned before as a negative. He himself doesn't really need to be because there are UAs and other staff who will communicate with users, and who can often fix minor issues themselves. Unfortunately, he's still the only site programmer at the moment, so major issues that need programming attention will still have to go through . That still doesn't necessarily require active forum usage on his part, though.

I'm not sure if the posts you're referring to specifically are the (as of now) most recent ones on the Admin Posts page, but the (again, as of now) top three posts from , , and refer to a programming issue that they have looked into and are unable to fix. If you scroll down a bit farther, you'd also see some admin posts where issues were fixed/resolved without 's personal input because they weren't programming related

I also have a vague recollection someplace of him having some kind of health issue, Covid or otherwise, it doesn't need justification. He could just pull the plug and be like, "Yeup, see ya when I feel better."

Those quick-resolve issues are always minor ones - most of those are just resetting an avatar which just involves inputting an username and pushing a button in an admin panel.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not trying to say the UAs are lazy or anything, but having them 99.99999% replace the site owner is just completely unhealthy. Especially when he's the only one that can push actual changes to the site's code or execute SQL queries. Either he needs to hire more programmers, or just stop slacking off. Am I the only one here that feels that 1-2 messages per year just aren't transparent enough?

I don't know where the logical leap to "we dont need keith" came from, but even so, this just so happens to be an issue that that Keith needs to work on. It could have not been and just been fixed by the other staff members, they even talked about doing the work to look into it. Please don't twist my words out of context/vague post about it to just restart your inquisition into Keith's activities.

staff can add items/pets to the database and wearables to the wardrobe, add new battle challengers, turn on/off site holidays, bring us new plot content like the themed battlers and Liara, moderate the forums, approve pet spotlight and CW submissions, add new achievements, and much more.

Okay, I apologize for my previous post. I didn't know that the UAs actually can run SQL queries. But the other of my points still kinda sticks - there are various features on the site which are linked to around the site but just display a message that's like "because the code's broken, X is closed". For example, I didn't even get to know what Item Drive was because it continuously just displays that message. The link to set your PIN could also be removed, since it just tells you that the feature has been permanently discontinued.

I don't really think that the UAs can push changes to the site's HTML, even when it's deleting one tag.

This comes off as "only covid is a good reason to not be active and everything else is just slacking off". You have no clue what number of tragedies may be happening to Keith or ANY staff member at any given time NOR are you entitled to know about them. I don't even want to mention things like this, so knock on wood, but the worst things imaginable could pop up in a staff member's life at any moment and you're sitting there demanding to know what's going on, where they are, and why they're so lazy. This is so insanely inconsiderate it's driving me nuts.

Covid is a valid excuse, I don't deny that. But his inactivity was rampant even before he announced that.

Subeta isn't perfect, yes it would be great if there were more coding staff or Keith had more time, but Keith (and all the other staff as far as I'm aware) have other jobs that they need to make a living. Subeta isn't sustainable for staff members to be able to devote as much time as some users think they are entitled to. I know it might be kinda disappointing to hear this but there's a lot on Subeta that DOES work, yes it sucks that some stuff is broken, but there's more than enough that works imo. The staff doesn't really owe us users anything, they are already giving us a lot of work, much of it for free, and to be rude about what they do for us and say they are just "slacking off" is really cold, as Luck said.

Staff has to prioritize what they can do for the users that will make the most people happy. Keeping events going, making new items/challengers etc, is the most impact with what they can do, and are frankly more interesting than fixing one old flash game that people don't care about.

The staff is human and deserve to live their own life. They don't need an "excuse" to do what they need to do to make a living or hell just have a nice tie off to relax to themselves.

I appreciate that you are willing to apologize and consider what people have been trying to explain to you, but imo who really deserves an apology from all this drama you are stirring for no reason is the staff, especially Keith who I feel like you are borderline harassing with all this

I don't understand why site activity = posts for you. In the thread referenced by , you mention that maybe you view things that way because that's how it works on a different pet site, but that realization has not seemed to change anything with the tone of this (and other) threads you've made.

This site was created when was a teenager. Some of the oldest code is simply too messy to just "hire more programmers" but staff are doing the best they can with it. I don't really know what else you want or expect anyone to say at this point

Of course he deserves time for non-subeta stuff. As you said, he's also human and I'm also not working on my website 24/7 because I've got things to do outside of a computer. And I also understand that code can become incredibly messy over time, as libraries and programming languages update (for example, PHP is on V8.2 rn and it's still going) and you start to forget what each function actually does.

He deserves his own time. Even though it's a PETsite, the website is not his pet that he has to care about daily.

But when he does get some free time to log in to the website, it won't hurt to give a small heads-up to the shoutbox in order to get players more engaged. Like, just sharing what happened after a long hiatus or having a small chat for 3 minutes and then hopping off again.

As for me saying how it works on the other website - their owner does take long hiatuses too (he was absent for a year straight), but I don't blame him because when he comes back, he shares what happened and at least says "hello" to a few users, maybe also leaks some future new content to come (but that's not important).

You again...? Also what the fuck dude, come on, you saw in the UA's post (I assume you're referring to the missing CW pawn shop items thread) that Keith is sick right now with Covid. Let the dude rest and get better. It does us no good if he got worse from not resting enough. Keith doesn't need to say shit when he does come back from recovering. If he wants to, he can if he wants, but I wouldn't want him to discuss it if there's no reason to. Keith's around when he is and can be, and at least he's not checked out without reason.

this site is a labor of love. it's running on decade-old code. there's only one programmer because, quite frankly, the site is not profitable and hiring more programmers would be expensive. as others have already pointed out to you, subeta is not any of staff's main jobs.

I will say though, if a problem does come up, and a UA is contacted, they're really fast at getting a message to Keith and problems do get resolved. So I'm grateful for that. Obviously when it's smaller things; bigger things take more time.

I'm just going to say one thing and I'm done on it: I get it, something in here tipped a lot of people off but these forums have become outright hostile.

That would be Galaxia's job, and I'm going to say that they're excellent at communicating through the userbase via different ways!

Firstly as it’s been mentioned, Keith is very sick with Covid so the only thing we need to do right now is wish him better. (This thread feels especially callous because of his health right now, btw)

Secondly, the UA and staff here do a great job running the site as best they can without programming knowledge.

Thirdly, Keith put a call out on social media a few months ago looking for new programmers so it’s something that’s being worked on.

Lastly, Keith does not owe us his on-site time or interaction. If he just wants to fix programming issues behind the scenes, then that’s what he should do. There is literally nothing wrong with that.
