I recently left feedback about having difficulty with the Battle System. And well, I was thinking about it and it occurred to me: Subeta's staff deserve some encouragement for all the things we love about Subeta. There are a lot of really intuitive features that I love about this site that set it apart.

So this is a thread anyone is welcome to join that just highlights the good things. No negatives, and no critiques. Good vibes only. Feel free to mention things that have already been mentioned by others: everyone has a voice and should be able to make their own statement about things, especially positive commentary.

Some of the things I really like about Subeta include:

✨ Coding Jokes Spread across the site are little coding jokes, either through books, or the Sql items, I find them humorous. I mostly studied HTML and CSS (and do a little still), but I know enough to pick up on the jokes and I love them.

✨ Community This one's not really something that the Staff have control over too much, but the community here is full of very kind people. I'm sure some bitter and angry users probably exist, but everyone I've run into here has been someone refreshing. I think whatever Subeta is doing is doing it right to attract such a lovely community of people. So I felt like it deserved a place on the list of things I appreciate about Subeta.

✨ Economy Some have said it's incredibly broken, but I actually like spending time here because I feel like I can actually make currency goals for most of the things I want to attain. Both in real life and other sites, I can't feel like I can actually reach monetary goals, or if I do it will take me so many years I'll lose interest before I actually reach my goals. Here, however, I feel like things are possible to attain; and I absolutely love that.

✨ Item Hover functionality Both the Account Search and the Search Shops links are highly intuitive time-savers that I really just love having right at my fingertips.

✨ User Shop Functionality I love the functionality in general of the User Shops regarding stocking, pricing, sorting and everything really revolving around my humble little in-game shop.

subeta has so many great quality of life stuff (wishlist functionality, shop search button on quests, shop and account search on item tool tips etc) it has always been THE best site for that kind of stuff, it helps a lot for playing and collecting! i also absolutely love all the widgets, quest widget and notepad widget are lifesavers for me as well as the custom bookmarks!

i also really commend subeta for the "keep things in circulation" mentality, i know it can be a really hard balance with making stuff accessible but not too accessible, but its really appreciated that theres stuff like the crystal shop and quests giving out retired items sometimes, it makes working on the collections (which is like my main activity on the site rn) fun rather than frustrating

The site hasn't crapped itself with events for a while now. A nice change of pace. And the items for events can be added as needed without massive spoilers like the wardrobe suddenly breaking and giving you items that you never owned.

Customizability! The depths of things we can do with custom CSS, the dashboard, widgets, bookmarks. Our profiles, pet profiles. The available options we can opt out, opt in, change and make it our own.

The wardrobe! I know we sometimes complain about it, but its just so awesome. The skins, the layering options, the items, the skies the limit and we can make such amazing HAs.

i love how much there is to collect and i agree the item hover functionality is great ^^

inclusivity and diversity! love that you can be your authentic self on subeta, and theres more to come! by far the friendliest and most comfortable site i've been on, it feels like home.

this is one of the last few petsites where staff understands the age of their userbase and doesn't actively push restrictions for toddlers on mostly adult players. we can swear, we can be gross and edgy - hell we got graveyard and bloodred pets - we don't have to change how we act in order to interact on this site - within reasons ofc, don't be offensive jerk and all, but the most can happenin is that your most graphic content isnt allowed for pet spotlight or cws but if you put warnings up it can still stay

customization 👌✨

• The art quality is AMAZING - there are tens of thousands of beautiful items to collect and sometimes I just sit and look at them lol

• Customization - the wardrobe, CustomCSS, CWs, pet overlays, widgets, etc. I LOVE customization so this is a huge plus for me!

• Inclusiveness - official items, NPCs and events, being outspoken against bigotry, etc. Older items that were offensive are also being updated and there's no defending them, just, "It was wrong and we want to do better." I appreciate that staff don't pretend they never existed or keep them around as, "We don't want to update them because people will be upset if they're changed."

• Staff take feedback seriously - To go along with the above point, staff actually address things and I appreciate that. I've been on other sites where problems were completely ignored, people were frozen or had their posts deleted, or the staff give snarky (rude), meme-y responses mocking fair criticisms. Even when a criticism isn't grounded in reality staff are polite about it and do a good job dealing with unreasonable people.

• Achievable goals - On some sites, old items are reserved for the players who have been around the longest and are completely inaccessible to newer players. There are a few items like that here but for the most part you can reach almost any goal. It also doesn't feel unfair to older players - even for items that I got from old events that are super expensive now due to being extremely rare, I'm happy when those items get re-released because I don't want people to miss out just because they didn't join until years after.

Absolutely. If there's something that can be changed quickly to be more inclusive, it gets done.

The community to start. I've made some real life friends on here.

The longevity! I've been on here for almost 15 years. That's most of my teens and all of my 20's. I've never stuck with anything that long and it's so cool to see the changes and the progress throughout the years!

I really like the effort put into most item descriptions. Yes, there are some sets of items with the same description or with only a few words changed, but there's loads of others that have unique ones that make them just a bit more fun.

i love this thread! this community has been a part a huge part of my childhood and such a comforting place in my adulthood. It truly feels like a safe place to hang out with my friends <3 There are so many amazing people here who make subeta the home it is!

These might sound odd but hear me out.

The freedom of expression (minus hate shit which doesn't belong anywhere tbh), especially in the earlier days of the site which was a ride y'all, has really cemented a thick skin on me that I never really realized and has sincerely done wonders for me. I know the community guidelines has made it tamer, but people can and do still speak quite openly about exactly how they feel and I appreciate it?

Flash forward to years later when getting creatively offensive comments on fanfic or watching grown men have borderline meltdowns in meetings, and all I can really think is living through the wild west of bragging and complaining boards and like you think you can offend me? Please.

Also the ups, downs, crashes, not responding, lag... I remember once being bent out of shape about these things but really? Try playing Pokémon Go, a pay to play churning massive profits built on the most iconic franchise of our lifetime with so much funding I can't even fathom it and... it crashes, flatlines, rollbacks, whoopsies, and petty bans more than subeta does on a bad day.

Or my job's cloud based site where life of facility legally required and federally audited documentation is housed... just suddenly goes down for five days without warning and comes back wrong because "it looks better!" and half of what you need doesn't exist anymore.

Subeta taught me that programming sometimes has absolutely nothing to do with money, will do whatever it wants, and honestly the fact staff acknowledge something went wrong and we're trying to fix it? Is better than you get from a lot of applications that earn a lot more money.

the customization & creativity they allow and encourage for HAs and pets is very refreshing to see, especially compared to more uniform pet sites

it also balances paying player perks veyr well so it doesnt feel p2w

I love so much of what was already said, but I also want to mention how much I love the pets themselves!! There are so many cool species and cool colors to choose from!! Plus, the art for the pets is absolutely beautiful!!! I love seeing all the different poses and how the pets' personalities shine through the different colors! An Angelic Charlie wearing fake wings? A Graveyard Terracoon that is roadkill? Each Storm pet reacting differently to the rain? Every variation of the Blob? There's so much thought and creativity put into these creatures! :D

I'm jumping into this thread to echo everything in here. The art, FANTASTIC. The community, ROBUST. The longevity, ONGOING. Collection items, wardrobe pieces, battle opponents, pet choices, MANY! The creativity and uniqueness of the assests on site really stand out amongst competitors in my opinion. Subeta has such a variety of activities that I would bet that no two users have the same routine when they visit the site. We all have diverse interests and reasons for being here and Subeta allows for diverse gameplay. There is a level of humanity to this site that is missing in many pockets of the internet, somehow over the years it's changed so much yet still retained whatever made it great in the early 2000's. Those who keep the site running are humans and understand that their users are humans, too. The site feels like a collaboration, even though I've been mostly a lurker and an observer, for almost 18 years I've always felt at home on Subeta every time I find myself here. What a breath of fresh air to have relative freedom and a voice in our little virtual space. It takes all of us to make a community, thank you all for contributing to what makes Subeta special! ✨

I am pretty new around here, so here are a few things that struck me right off the bat:

• Numerous and positive LGBTQIA+ inclusion and representation
• Amazing, unique NPC designs
• Genuinely fun and interactive site events/holidays that encourage socializing with other users
• The humor in the item design/descriptions
• The ability to purchase cash shop items with sP from user shops - this is different from any other site I've been on
• The ability to earn CSC without spending real money - also very different from other sites (though I've already spent quite a bit of money on this site; the Subeta team has 100% deserved every dollar I've spent here and more, and I intend to keep purchasing CSC and upgrade my gold account to a higher tier once the subscription expires)
• The convenience of the wishlist system
• Small quality of life things like showing the most recent price of an item when stocking your shop
• The art is FANTASTIC, from the pets to the wearables to the NPC's and everything in between
• I can't quite put my finger on what it is that makes this site feel so warm and inviting and genuine. Probably a combination of all of the above things plus more things I haven't mentioned or noticed. There is just something about this site that feels so cozy and freeing. <3 It keeps me coming back day after day.

Subeta is THE reason I know anything about coding, and I'm currently embarking on learning even further how to code & specifically webdesign! What an amazing system, our profiles/pet pages being soooo customizable!

I really love the variety of items, the pet treasure system, how cute the item art tends to be, and item descriptions. I think there might be a running theme there.

I just came back after a couple years away, and honestly I'm so impressed.

obv Subeta is an ooooold pet site with a shrinking userbase and only a few staff left and whatnot, but it's still going. There's still monthly collections, weekend quests, battle updates, holidays, revamps, and new item releases. The wardrobe is still amazing. The art quality is still top tier. And the site economy is still very well managed bc I checked the CSC - SP conversion and it hasn't changed that much since I left! (I expected it to be like other pet sites where you come back and your money has become worthless.)

But tbh the best part is seeing so many familiar names on the forums.
