I know it's what you're all thinking, so I went ahead and did the research for you. The Queen had 30 corgis during her reign, and the people want to know what's going to happen to the current 4 dogs now. (Two corgis, a dorgi and a cocker spaniel!) (For those who don't know what a dorgi is, it's the name erected for a corgi who was is mated with a dachshund.)
Ingrid Seward, the royal biographer, has announced that although no official plans have been made, at least publicly, we are to assume the Queen's dogs are going to be taken care of by the family. "I imagine the dogs would be looked after by the family, probably Andrew [as] he's the one that gave them to her, they're quite young, the corgi and the dorgi."
They are in my prayers today. 🙏 <3 <3
Let's keep it civil and respectful. Thank you.
I forgot about the dogs! I think the family will take good care of them at least.

of all the things for staff to cover up and police i didn't think it'd be negative emotions regarding the figurehead of a monarchy notably responsible for genocide, racism, colonizing, xenophobia...
rip to the irish, sudanese, american indigenous, maori, welsh, singaporean, australian indigenous, indian, kenyan, etc etc etc (the list goes on and on. seriously. i'd hit the character limit) peoples that have to witness folks acting like their own sweet innocent grandmother just passed.
i understand at least one member of the staff is british and that we want to respect everyone's feelings. regardless of how you feel about the woman this is a massive world event. but that means you need to let the people still suffering to this day due to the actions of the monarchy have their feelings too.
i'm honestly shocked at the behavior i'm seeing. unexpected and disappointing.
None of what you have posted about the British monarchy and its legacy is untrue, and we are not trying to say it's not valid. But the question at hand is how to balance the discussion. For those who grew up with more positive feelings and are dealing with an emotional blow at the news, this is a rough time and seeing something flippant or negative isn't going to change their mind.
We aren't trying to cover over or police the situation, but we are trying to help user experience. A separate post about the damage done by British colonialism and what responsibility Queen Elizabeth II had for it would not be removed, for instance, and if someone came into that thread berating those users for grave dancing we'd be holding them accountable to the same community guidance. We don't want forum wars, it's why the Debate forums were removed; it seldom changed anyone's minds and more often bred more anger or animosity than it resolved.
We will be removing posts critical of Queen Elizabeth II and the monarchy in this thread, but do welcome you to start your own discussing the flip side with the understanding that it is still subject to community guidelines towards the idea of fellow Subetans. The same is true for this one, and people who demean others in this thread for not grieving or feeling sorry will be expected to be respectful to the whole situation as well.

This was just a thread to let people know she passed. She was an important person, like MJ or Betty White was for a lot of us. I'm sorry, but please let's not fight about things. There was no intention to start problems.

u know what's interesting? how this is the only death announcement post in subeta history to ever get a super special "mourning" tag meanwhile all death announcements before it have been completely neutral (kinda like how this post started!), and how dissenting opinions got sniped before an argument even broke out. i just think that's interesting
