i've found this frustrating, too. my internet isn't always fast enough for it to matter, but when it is it's just an annoyance that only slows questing down further.
god I would love 3 seconds. 5 is so LONG.
also for minion feeding...

Yep; As I said almost a year again, ain't nobody here like the old days, we're not competing with much of anyone;
I personally feel like only one shop needs this rule and it's the Freyalise :)
haha, yeah... i think that might be my most viewed page on the site. i'm so impatient :/
now whenever i see that damn experiment 404 in any context i get annoyed automatically. :')
with the low amount users and how apparently so few (i'm one of them) really restock outside of quests i wonder if it would even be a detriment for anyone. i think the recent amount of times someone has bought an item while i was on the timer could be counted on one hand. in fact, i think shops should restock either less often or in smaller amounts, too... but that's another topic. and probably going to be resolved with the Rarity Squish. :')
I get frustrated at having to wait when I'm questing and all the items I need just happen to be in the NPC shops and cheaper than user shops. But I agree with what said about the Freyalise needing it, and maybe Migrating Masks as well. Lowering it to 3 seconds for all the permanent shops would be good.
Yes, please please please.
The main purpose of that is to avoid lag but if it's literally more than enough time for someone to buy an item, switch tab and buy something else said time can clearly be reduced. I don't think this would affect restocking much. From my experience, if you're competing with another RS addict you're screwed regardless of 5 seconds or 5 minutes (which is how long those 5 secs feel sometimes) - on the other hand, there are times there's no one stalking a shop, giving you have all the time in the world to buy the whole store and making the 5 seconds irrelevant for this matter.
i would love this!! it's so frustrating, i always Think i've waited 5 seconds but i'm always wrong. i would be happy with literally any kind of change/reduction to this
was it also originally implemented to prevent auto-buying? i feel like that was Keith's main concern looooong ago (also because Neo was riddled with it). I have been on on/off hiatus though so chances are very high I have missed a lot. but really is right, i think until (if) we get a larger user base, ain't nobody here doing much like it used to be lmao

@ EMILY Subeta used to have a system similar to Neo where we had to type a code and price, which I think used to be the main way to avoid this but considering that same system didn't stop users on Neo you're very likely right.
Or maybe the 5 secs was added after they removed this system? I really can't remember jack 😖
please... this is the bane of my existence while questing
✨
Either way I think the key/determining factor across the board here is # of users on the site, which has been an interesting thread also to say the least.

Super support this
SELL ME FOOD PLS? 🡺 CLICK HERE 🡸I just realised that it could be that the 5 seconds only applied if you're buying from the same shop, and that it isn't carried between shops, since most items bought for quests will come from different shops. That would be a good compromise, and it would solve the problem of holiday-limited shops.
Honestly, I'd love for it to just be completely disabled. Right now, there are... 58 users online. I doubt there's much competition for restocking going on.
Maybe only activate it for event-specific shops, that we know will be high-demand? (Freyalise, Migrating Masks...)
I strongly support dropping the time to something like 2.5 or 3 seconds.
I think that would be a good compromise to taking it away completely. It wouldn't allow someone to go in and wipe out an entire shop in seconds, but it would still make questing overwhelmingly easier on the whole.
I also agree that things like Freyalise and Migrating Masks ought to keep the 5sec requirement, because they're more competitive for the items and have fewer items.

I support lowering the time but not removing it completely.
I like zooming through quests quickly, so if I get two in stock items in a row & the user price isn't too much more then I just pay it so I can move on. When I do try and wait the 5 seconds I frequently click too soon and get the error message.
And I agree the pirates should keep the 5 seconds.
3 seconds would be good!! I zoom zoom through my quests to the point I get the 1 second cooldown, lmao. 5 seconds is like a calendar year for me. 😔
