I had this weird nightmare about a week and some change ago and it's been living rent-free in my mind ever since, so I figured, why not make a topic about it.

SPOILER (click to toggle) I was living in this, like, commune house or something akin to that. There were a few other people there and we all had our own rooms. However, the largest room - and therefore bathroom - was the main head guy's. Outside this room was a huge vase. This damn thing was at least up to my shoulders and I'm 5'10" in real life. It was big.

This vase was giving off a terrifying vibe. No one in the house liked going near it. In fact, even though the only other bathroom didn't work properly half the time, we all decided to use it anyway.

Of course, because my nightmares are apparently sadists, this eventually ended up biting me in the ass since I had to go but it was currently occupied. So yay, I get to pass the creepy vase.

Then for some reason, I got teleported out of the house and to some store or something to buy groceries for everyone. That was when one of the girls there called me and told me exactly why the vase creeped us out so much.

It wasn't a vase. It was an urn.

The guy in charge of the house was secretly leaving at night, tracking victims down, killing, dismembering, and then burning their remains in a cremation oven and he'd collect the ashes in the urn and tried to pass it off as a vase.

You'd think we'd figure something like that out sooner since this "vase" had a lid but my dreams are weird.

Suddenly, I was in my house. The guy was there, giving off the same vibes as his urn. I gave a quick excuse about having to leave, but then he draped a blanket over my shoulder saying it was too cold out and tried to kiss me. I was ready to fight back. Every cell was screaming "HE'S GONNA TRY TO KILL YOU!" But then I woke up.

...I really need to stop binging true crime channels.

Mine don't dream, that is a nightmare mine cannot awaken from.

Old, and obsolete.

that's a spooky dream omg. and as always you wake up right as everything is hitting the climax...

i haven't had a really bad nightmare in a while. last time was maybe 6 months ago (which is weird....i have gotten nightmares regularly most of my life and am only just now realizing they've slowed down recently). i remember i was back at my high school for some reason trying to go about a normal day of class but snakes kept appearing everywhere! it would be one thing if they were just chilling, trying to do regular snake things....but they were appearing in my book bag, in my desk, my locker, etc & always immediately trying to bite me. i have a p irrational fear of snakes biting me because of running into too many rattlesnakes as a child. it's a shame because i know snakes are usually just minding their own business, but i always have a huge spike of fear when i see one until i know it isn't poisonous. they are unfortunately often in my nightmares though.

I can kind of relate to that. Not snakes per se, but I also have a fairly irrational fear in relation to where I currently live (which is a landlocked state) - drowning in the ocean and being on a sinking ship. That fear is so severe that I will never, ever, voluntarily at least step foot on a ship or a boat or whathaveyou. The worst ones are when I'm desperately trying to reach the surface for air but a sinking ship is bearing down right on top of me and I'm stuck between two horrible deaths - drowning or being crushed.

When I was a kid, somewhere around 7, I fell asleep on our living room couch in my parents' old house, and had a dream about being trapped in a school.

I remember that dream pretty vividly because I usually don't remember my dreams pretty soon after waking up, but in the dream I just really remember that feeling of being trapped.

But in the dream, I was in some sort of wood workshop/ trade school that had steps going up to the entrance from outside. It also had a fountain on the outside. Once I walked into the school, the walls started closing in on me, and I couldn't get out. I woke right before the walls would of crushed me.

I have SO MANY school dreams omg. One of the creepiest was where I was literally trapped in a school that was omnipotent and omniscient. It was extremely foggy outside to the point there was little to no visibility. I'm talking like, look out the window and you'd see nothing BUT fog. I couldn't leave. Nobody could, including the teachers/staff. If it wanted to keep someone inside, it did. It'd shift itself, bending reality, so doors and windows no longer existed or wouldn't open. It was so fucking weird.

I also have a lot of shooting dreams which is odd since I never had that happen.

, School nightmares suck. I've had more than one school dream, though the second one I had in high school was actually a good dream. My sophomore year of high school, the second semester right before summer one of my friends was supposed to be moving out of state; I live in CA, and they were supposed to be moving to TX with their parents. Anyway, during the summer I had a dream that I saw them at school, and was hanging out with them during lunch. Lo and behold, when I had to check in for school registration in August to pick up my schedule for the fall school year for my junior year, they were there. Their parents were supposed to be moving to TX because of their jobs having them move out there and from what said friend told me, their jobs had cancelled them being required to move so they didn't have to.

I had another friend that did end up moving out of state junior year though, didn't have a dream about her not moving though. I always wondered if it just happened to be luck that I randomly dreamed about that friend not moving or I was randomly prescient for like one day, XD.

I've had darker dreams, dreams I won't go into because the subject matter probably isn't good for here though.

Kind of, you are def. aware that you are dreaming, but for me I am in my own room, I know my space around me, I can move around, open my doors etc. but..... I always feel, and see an entity. It's pretty scary to sense them, they don't say anything or attack me, but I do watch them observe my sleeping body.

Ugh that reminds me of a dream I had back in late April. Names and locations have been [REDACTED] to avoid sharing identifying information. (and to respect the rights of those involved who might not want their names shared.)

SPOILER (click to toggle) I had a dream I was at [old workplace].

Except it wasn't a dream. I was really there. I was wearing a hoodie and jeans. It felt SO real that my brain was convinced I slept walked.

I covered my head with the hood and ran out as fast as possible once [former coworker] left the front counter so he wouldn't see me.

I then began my trek home. I still remember how long it'd take me, even using the shortcut.

I started running to cross the crosswalks so I'd get back faster because I was so confused as to how I slept walked with no prior history of doing so.

Once I reached what is the crosswalk to my street in reality, there wasn't any. One block ahead would be too far and one block back would be too behind. It would've had to be here.

I then noticed a window with myself sleeping in my room and crossed the street, mind boggled and struggling to come up with an explanation.

I don't know or remember how I got back inside. I didn't have my keys. The door was locked.

I woke up [housemate] to ask him what to do. He said just wake my other self up and simply wait until we "merge" and I wake up for real.

I did so. We talked for a bit. We eventually merged and that's when I woke up.

I've been questioning reality since then and even had an episode that lasted for almost half a minute where I thought the dream didn't actually end, and nearly had a panic attack. It still sends shivers up my spine. Nobody should have to witness themself sleeping. It's a type of fear that feels unexplainable, like you're seeing something you shouldn't be.

What do you make of that dream?

Also, what does the entity look like? Does it have a visible form or is it more shadowy?

i have recurring dreams centered around apocalyptic events. like the incoming threat of either a hellacious firestorm, a tsunami type situation, etc. and the overwhelming panic that comes with that. i am always trying to escape whatever is coming, looking for a safe place or my partner. everything is always very chaotic and loud.

I have dreams like that when I'm really stressed out. By any chance, has anything come up recently in your life that could be stressing you out? I only ask because I myself, the dreams stop when life calms down again.

it's very possible they come from stress but because i have so much stress and anxiety on the regular (a lot of it self-imposed but i can't help it, haha), i doubt i've seen the end of them. :,)

I keep having nightmares about morgues, mortuaries, corpses, death, and cannibalism. ...Maybe I should stop watching so many videos about the strange, dark, and mysterious delivered in story format.

One dream I still remember that happened as a young kid was little me walking through a dimly lit hallway with giant statues/cardboard cutouts that were following me with their eyes as I made my way down the hallway. I'm 100% certain that shit gave me megalophobia. Those damn things were at least 80 or so feet high.

I have dreams like that at least once a month. It's usually a mega earthquake, supernova, or black hole that happens. Sometimes there's even a colossal beast accompanying the other events, hunting everyone down, finding us in our hiding spaces and eating us, or simply knocking down buildings to crush us.

The supernova nightmare, which is terrifying, can also be beautiful. It makes the sky look amazing and everyone seems to be at peace with it all.

I have a recurring nightmare about planes falling from the sky. I'll just be minding my own business when suddenly, I see a plane hurtling towards the ground, and I always worry it'll hit me, or that it'll explode and I'll be caught in it. It's gotten to the point where I'll say "This is just like in my nightmares!", I haven't quite gotten to the stage where I realise it's a dream yet, and I usually easily forget I'm dreaming shortly after I realise it anyway.
