If you've answered YES to any of these questions, let me know what you've seen! Subeta staff will occasionally look at this thread to ponder any changes. If changes are made, you can see them here.
Before you post, I ask that you do read these staff statements on what will not be changed.
THINGS THAT WON'T CHANGE
SPACE VS. NO SPACE
If you're making a suggestion, please provide reasoning or a source as to why it should be a certain way.
Birdbath vs. Bird Bath
Both seem to be accepted, though in a quick Google search, the two word version seems more common.
Birdbath [I](One word)[/I]
Bird Bath [I](Two words)[/I]
Corn Dog vs. Corndog
Should be Corn Dog with a space.
Or "I think the regularization should go the other way,and remove the space on the original minion. Because corndogs the minions aren't like and do not belong with all the other corn dogs the foods."
Additional notes: If "Grilled Corndog" were to be changed to "Grilled Corn Dog", the description would also need to be corrected. If it goes the other way and "Corn Dog" changes to "Corndog", that description would need to be corrected.

Hoverbike vs. Hover Bike
"Hoverbike" or "Hover Bike"?

I suggest the former—by analogy with &;motorbike&;, because it&;s much more common in descriptions (15 items with "hoverbike" vs only the White Hover Bike Ignition Key with "hover bike"), and because Google says it&;s more common in general.

Kiwi vs. Kiwifruit vs. Kiwi Fruit
vs. "kiwi fruit" (in the description) (in the description)
There is also Strawberry and Kiwi Fruit Cream Sandwich but the other two items in that series also have "Fruit Cream Sandwich". And the "Kiwi Fruit Umbrella" but the other umbrellas in that set also have "Fruit Umbrella" (there&;s even Grapefruit Fruit Umbrella). So I don&;t think those need to be changed.

There are also multiple items that just use "kiwi" to refer to the fruit.

According to Wikipedia "kiwifruit" is technically the correct name, but it can be shortened to just "kiwi", and the shortened version is more common (or at least it is where I live).

Not sure if it would be better to change "kiwi fruit" to "kiwifruit", or to just drop the "fruit" part entirely and change them all to just "kiwi" (alternatively, all kiwi items could be changed to "kiwifruit", but I don&;t think that&;s necessary and would require changing more items).
Monks Hood vs. Monkshood
"Monkshood" (one word) seems to be correct, with a quick online search.
is the only Subeta item that is two words. All the others are one word.
Muttonchops vs. Mutton Chops
A quick look in the dictionary indicates that "muttonchops" (one word) refers to facial hair while "mutton chops" (two words) refers to a piece of meat. With that in mind, the following should be updated to "muttonchops".
Name only
Name and description
Most of them have names that are just like all of the words mashed together, but some of them have spaces and different capitalization. IDK how staff would want to handle these, since they're kind of joke-y items anyway, but just mentioning it since there are some inconsistencies there.
Rag Doll vs. Ragdoll
Wikipedia and dictionary.com use Rag Doll, also Ragdoll is a cat breed so I think using Rag Doll for the actual dolls is probably correct.
Here's the subetalodge links for Items with Ragdoll in the name and one for Ragdoll in the description. None of them seem to reference the cat breed so they can probably all be changed.
Additionally the Ragdoll redeemable hair might need a space added in the wardrobe if a space is added to its hair coupon.
Sketch Book vs. Sketchbook
"Sketchbook" with no space seems to be the more correct way to write it, based on some internet searching.
Items with "Sketch Book" in the name
Items with "sketch book" in the description
Items with "sketch book" in the name and description
Star Fruit vs. Starfruit
is two words as are all of the items associated with the Subeta fruit.
has "Starfruit" as one word. This one is based more on the real world fruit, so I'm not sure if that one should have a space or not.
There is also a CW that uses "Starfruit" (one word) in the item name.
Sweety Dead vs. Sweetydead
Most of the "sweety dead" items are 2 words. The 6 below are "sweetydead" (one word) instead.
Edit:
SPELLING
Subeta items are strictly American spelling only. Items that use British spelling are "wrong."
All spelling errors can be documented through this page where you select if it's a site item or a site page that needs to be corrected and then complete the appropriate form.
It is recommended to indicate what is incorrect, then give the correction.
OTHER INCONSISTENCIES
CAPITALIZIATION
⭐ Pet and Minion names should be lowercase when referring to them in descriptions. Please add any that you notice. (ex. "This is a warador." is correct, vs "This is a Warador." is incorrect)
[spoiler=Bombons]
BomBon
Bombon
Capitalization of places (proper nouns) in Subeta
Geographical locations in descriptions that are not capitalized
Used this grammar guide if anyone wanted to check, the rules are around this are a bit complicated
Items that could have "Graveyard" capitalized in the description
Items that could have "The Underground" capitalized in the description
Items that could have "The" capitalized before "Underground" in the description
[item=Underground Art: Graffiti] [item=Underground Art: Photography] [item=Underground Art: Sculpture]
Items unsure about
Additional Note: Due to the differing opinions when it comes to the underground/The Underground, perhaps some more specificity would help. Maybe anything that refers to "the underground" in Shadowglen and the unliving could be called something like "Shadowglen Underground" and anything that references Atebus could be called "Ziaran Underworld", just like we have Delphi Beach, Veta Lake, and so forth. Just another opinion to add to the mix. [/spoiler]
CW NAME AND DESCRIPTION INCONSISTENCIES
[spoiler=Bat Wing]
All other "batwing" items (other than the actual "batwing") now are two words ("bat wing")
Bellybutton
All other "belly button" (two words) items were changed to "bellybutton" (one word).
"Belly Button" in name: "belly button" in description:
Blackcurrant
All other "black currant" (two words) items were changed to "blackcurrant" (one word).
Fairy Tale
All other "fairytale" (one word) items were changed to "fairy tale" (two words).

Lip Balm / Lip Gloss
All other "lipbalm" or "lipgloss" (one word) items were changed to "lip balm" or "lip gloss" (two words).

Items with "oilslick" in the description
Pincushion
All other "pin cushion" (two words) items were changed to "pincushion" (one word).

[/spoiler]
INCONSISTENT DESCRIPTORS
[spoiler=capsicum is really broad when these could just be called peppers]
Cash Shop Hair Coupons

These items should probably have their names changed to remove the "VIP" part:

[Edit]
Also noticed while looking at other Hair Coupons that some use "VIP" in the descriptions without periods between the initials, and some use "V.I.P." with the periods.

https://www.subetalodge.us/list_all/search/v.i.p/mode/description

^ I think changing all of those to just "VIP" without the periods would be fine, since there would be fewer to change.
confusing salon style vs item unlock names
[box=pink]"The Delicate Vintage Perfume Bottle and Vintage Cologne Bottle will be updated later to make it easier to find in the wardrobe when unlocking the hair styles. Keith and Bug have updated the system for redeemable wigs so I just need to sit down with them to see exactly where I need to change those things and not break everything haha" -Amber[/box]
The name of the unlocked hair from [item2=delicate vintage perfume bottle] is "Royal", a word that totally doesnt overlap with the item name making finding the item to unlock it pretty difficult.

Although I&;m not sure what the name of the salon hairstyle associated with it is, I&;ll go try to find it lol.

[edit]Okay, I think the hairstyle is the one called "Bebe" which yeah, doesn&;t make much sense either compared to the name of the item.

Perhaps changing the hairstyle names to "Perfume" and "Cologne" could work? Those names aren&;t taken yet by other styles, and it would match better with the item names.
Hair salon style name vs item image
[box=pink]"The item art vs names for the coupons: this happens sometimes when the artist that does hair coupons doesn’t realize there is already an unlockable hair with that name and I catch it way too late! I’ll bring those up with the artist " -Amber[/box]
Hairbrush when referring to paintbrushes made of
I think at some point, these were changed from "hair brush" to "hairbrush". However, I don&;t think this is correct for the reason that... these aren&;t hairbrushes. These are actually paintbrushes, and the descriptor is "sheeta hair" and "kumos hair", because these two go with this
To change the meaning from "hairbrush" and to avoid this happening again, I think that &;hair&; and &;brush&; should be separated and then &;brush&; changed to paintbrush, with the third item also being renamed to paintbrush. (And the third item&;s description also suffers from "hair" and "brush" being incorrectly mushed together in this context)
Illuminated Line Based on Luminescent Serpent
are all based on but are named wrong. The description for the fan also calls it "illuminated serpent" instead of luminescent serpent.
Item Hunt Prize
Items Based on Golden Pet Color
we have these ornaments in pet colors

but then there&;s the golden versions
where only the bauble is called golden. The rest are called gold. Since these are all parts of sets of ornaments based on pet colors, the "gold" ones should be "golden".
Pride Identity Items

rainbow pride vs. pride vs. rainbow
Also since the flags, sashes, and heart pins for orientations use the shortened version of the name (ie. bi instead of bisexual) maybe these should be poly instead of polysexual? Also because some people might want to use them for polyromantic.
Please don't shorten polysexual to poly - in my circles, poly is used to mean polyamorous, and the two are not the same.
Non-Alocholic Moomoos
Compared to the description of the other 2 colors the is described as purple flavored.
(the other two say strawberry or chocolate where this one says purple)

Blackcurrant or grape might be a good flavour.
Residual Raffle Ticket

Raffle Tickets no longer exist, so this is a weird sentence?
the grammar of referring to subeta/atebus
So most of these are wrong
Except:
And this one needs to be “of Subeta”

Is plucked from Ikumoradeekanox on Atebus yet description says “- this fruit is actually one of the most nutritious you&;ll find in Subeta”. It finding its way to the main planet is not impossible but it might be slightly misleading as where to get it. I propose changing it to “ on Atebus”.
[Item= Maniacal Skull Fruit]
The Right Vs Left conundrum
[box=pink]"Left vs right on items: I agree that it makes more sense to follow the example of Black Small Leathery Wing (Left). I will make sure to go through all the items like this but it’ll take a while since we have a lot of items like this!" -Amber[/box]
To prevent confusion I will just be using items with the word left in my example.

there&;s items like the [item=Black Small Leathery Wing (Left)] on site that have the left and a right side of a set as seperate items for layering purposes. The problem is not all items agree on what the left or right side of the avatar is.
[item=Colonial Frilly Cuff (Left Arm)] for example is technically on the left side of the image but arguably on the avatar&;s right hand side.
Personally it makes most sense to go with the example of [item=Black Small Leathery Wing (Left)] because it is at the true left hand side of the avatar.

There&;s some items that would need some image reshuffling to be correct or a rename (and maybe swap some descriptions too, some seem to be jokes that have to be read from left to right 😉 )
*=and recolors

&
&
&
& *
For these items (and their recolors) the item image is fine but the HA overlay is on the wrong side

&
&
&
[item=Colonial Frilly Cuff (Left Arm)] & [item=Colonial Frilly Cuff (right Arm)]

For this one both item image and HA overlay are incorrect
&

I have corrected some stuff in my original post about this

Edit: The first scentence of this post has vanished. I rewrote it but it will never be the same 😭

edit2: on second thought I think the kittyclippyclips item image might be incorrect too.
INCONSISTENT ORDERING OF WORDS
[spoiler=HOT KISS HOLOGRAPHIC STICKERS] does not follow the naming pattern of the others in the series. It should be "Pink Hot Kiss Holographic Sticker".
Plushie in the wrong place
SCRIBBLE STICKERS

A bit late, but these two stickers should have their names changed to be "Hydrus Scribble _____ Sticker" to match all of the other stickers like this that had their names changed a while back.
XOTL HANDMADE BEANBAG
The Xotl Handmade Beanbag does not match the other items in the set, which are all named "Handmade [Species] Beanbag".
INCONSISTENT RARITY
[spoiler=Affinity Master Scrolls]
holiday in the game prizes
holiday or game prize?
Legendary weapons are artifacts

vs
missing hockey equipment
Neugarten is apparently not a holiday
This is a bit late, but I just noticed that all of the items that were released in the Neugarten shops have the Artifact rarity (105).
Would it make more sense for them to have the Holiday Item rarity (175) instead, like the older Brewery Shop items? [/spoiler]
INCONSISTENT RESTOCKING LOCATION
[spoiler=Rogue unretireds]
INCONSISTENT WARDROBE LAYER
INCONSISTENT WEAPONRY
MISSING OR EXTRA WORDS
[spoiler=is the neopets style 'subetapet' really necessary?]
- should the skin name be Gross Fungus or just Fungus?
Additional Note: If the skin is called "Gross Fungus", is it one word or two? The sticker above is two words while the plushie is one. Just another inconsistency.
- should the skin name be Bakers Kiss or just The Baker?
Missing the common prefix

Apologies for the late response and doing so on the other thread!
The procedure is to run CW changes past releasers and is not my department for now, I'm working on the site items. I'll update if that changes, though, and will ping you when I've gotten that project of all the fairytale description fixes done. Thank you for this thread and your updates!

Hey ~ I noticed that in the previous thread, the first post was only updated to the point of this post here https://subeta.net/forums.php/gotopost/65608667
So there are still a few posts after that which haven't been included in the list yet. ^^
Thanks for taking over the thread <3
- Thank you! I think I have included everything now from the end of the previous thread. <3
[edit]
does not follow the naming pattern of the others in the series. It should be "Pink Hot Kiss Holographic Sticker".
Small change, but the wing scraps and the bat wing blade have the space in them now! and are not going to be changed right now since they're scroll ingredients, though, and we don't want to risk disrupting the working of that.
Also, the Razzberry items have been changed, including the description on the eyeball.

- Thank you for the updates! I've updated these items on SubetaLodge and am now updating the posts here. Quick thought: Should the "Raspberry Candy Dagger" actually be "Blue Raspberry Candy Dagger" since it's blue and not pink? It would be more in line with the other Morostide items.
Ah, good point! I'll go change that now. Thank you!

Corn Bread Muffins are now .
The site items with Darkmatter in the name (plushie, beanbag, shows) have been changed, the CW requires going to the releaser to okay it. I'll ask Amber about changing the skin.
It's Erlenmeyer now for that plushie...
The items listed without the space in 'fairy tale' have been fixed as well.
The items that had the unspaced 'hotdog' in their description have been fixed.
The site items with 'mini skirt' have had their descriptions fixed, the CWs will require going through the releaser for the okay. The Nuclear Miniskirt has had the description changed to "Oh, now that's rad." to fix typos and...other reasons. :)
The site items formerly known as pin cushions should be correct now, and the descriptions fixed as well. CW changes may take a bit longer.
Thank you for this thread, and everything you do!

- Thank you for all of the updates! I've updated everything on SubetaLodge and in the posts here. I'm moving CWs to a new section as we tackle other items in the same category, that way all of the CWs will be together for whoever is going to take that on. :)
For the Inconsistent Descriptors, under Residual Raffle Ticket, could it be added that the Bathhouse still uses the term Raffle Ticket instead of Forum Ticket when you receive one for visiting.
- Good catch! I've added that.
feel free to ping me for CW things in the future! I'll work on the CW things on this list in the next week or two :)
idk maybe the description for is just trying to be cute, but I thought it was strange that it says "Candiheart" instead of candy heart.
- Thank you for noticing that description. I've added it to the "spelling" section. :)
Quick note - smoky is going to be the spelling considered correct on Subeta going forward for/all both official and CW items! The official items with the spelling of smokey in their name have been corrected to smoky. Thank you!

- Thank you for the update! I've corrected the official Subeta items on SubetaLodge and created a list of CWs using "smokey" for .
- I wanted to let you know that I have updated the CW section of the first post to include all of the items that have "smokey" in the name and/or description.
- Thank you! I'll hopefully get this done today. I hate spelling it "smoky" (even though I know it's correct) so I'm psyching myself up for it XD
I'll actually remember to ping you this time, sorry about forgetting on the last post!
Everything on the list that needed Subeta capitalized in the description should be fixed, and the descriptions tweaked in other spelling or grammar as needed.
The Blue and Red Ornamented Slippers are now Orange Ornamented Slippers and should be working correctly, I double-checked after the rename.
It should be Genderfluid consistently now for descriptors.
It turns out that in trying to avoid a term that the Algonquin people have asked not to be repeated, we used a variant spelling that was still recognized in some contexts. To avoid this, item ID: 151665 has been changed to and the item description changed accordingly.
Thank you! More to come!
