I'm sharing the sad news that Georgie passed away a few days ago after a long illness.

I don't have any details at this point, but I've reached out to her roommates. We'll have a memorial on SubetaLodge later today.

I’m devastated

I am so sad. I knew that Georgie had been sick, but never thought that things would go this way. Witchy reached out to me yesterday to let me know. She said that Georgie passed away on Monday, but she still didn't have any details other than the events that took place at home Monday morning. It will be nice to put something up on SubetaLodge. Thank you for taking care of that, . Please let me know if there is anything else we can do to be helpful.

I'm still working on processing this but thank you to you and for making her such a nice memorial on SL.

I'm heartbroken for her family and her friends and all of us.

I'm pissed. She gave far too much time (and money) to Subeta to be treated in this way.

I think someone had accessed it unfortunately. Her HA had changed a couple of times when it shouldn't have. I didn't report but I'd wager someone had let them know she had passed and they saw activity after and froze :/ I don't know if they can then memorialize it now that it's locked or what.

omg this is even worst, I hope it's just a niece or something that saw the website on her computer.

I agree. I hope it was someone well-intentioned who was just trying to dress her HA nice for memorializing but unfortunately it had resulted in this =/

: My understanding is that because of covid, her family opted for a very private service and so there was no announcement in the newspapers. That seems reasonable, and I'd appreciate if Dill and the rest of staff could show a little flexibility during the pandemic.

After 30 days, I think I can get a record from the Virginia Department of Health.

That's really frustrating that they're being so inflexible considering the circumstances and also the fact that they know it's true based on freezing they did of someone else. I completely understand why her family kept things so private though.

There were some tasks that Georgie did herself for the site. One of those was to create the preview images for the Subeautique and Delish lines and then upload them to the server.

Today, she would have uploaded previews for the Sougara Yellowjack revamps that were announced in today's news.

I'd like to open a discussion:

(1) Are these previews something we want to continue in Georgie's absence? (Usage data from the past week shows that about 3-5 people a day view them, which isn't that many.) (2) If so, do we want to bring someone new aboard to help out with this task, or is it something we can handle ourselves? (3) Does anyone want to do this? I don't want to dump it in someone's lap involuntarily.

1. Well I wouldn't want to delete them outright, but we can remove stuff as it becomes obsolete due to revamps without replacing it, as one option. With being able to access everything in the wardrobe, I don't really think they are as useful as they once were. I use them mainly when I remember a specific item, but can't remember the name - but that's usually the costume trunks in particular.

2. I don't think making previews is enough "work" for a whole person. But if we want to maintain other graphics on subetaLodge, like pet profiles, banners, etc. Saving and uploading new viruses and skins during survival and morostide. If we ever have a plot/event again, they could be in charge of saving that stuff too.

3. Its easy enough to do, but, silly as it is I always stress out with what items to choose. You can do the basic, just toss everything on. But that often ends up hiding some clothes, or looks really weird. by Lypsyl

I have never had access (or if I did, I didn't know what link it was under/what to do) to make any of that. I'm not opposed to learning how to make the previews and doing them if that's something we want to keep up though.

Also if it's rarely getting viewed it may not be worth keeping up with. For costume trunks it made a lot of sense, since the items were different, but for stuff like the Subeautique it seems like we don't really need it.

I'm gonna just say I'm good with whatever the consensus is here and that I'll do what I can to help/learn whatever y'all need me to learn. I'm happy to help out however I can.

I can train anyone who wants to be able to upload preview/hex/zombie skin/zapper skin images to the server.

I think we should wait until a consensus emerges, though, about what features we want to keep up with moving forward and which ones aren't worth the effort. We're down a person right now, so the crossroads we're facing is do we reorganize into something like what we were before, or do reorganize into a leaner, lighter SubetaLodge?

I personally don't think that the Subeautique previews are needed any longer.
