I get that they want some protection against frivolous abuse of memorialization, but you'd think that a sight that pays a lot of lip service to the idea of LGBTQ and disability inclusion would recognize that sometimes one's legal next of kin isn't the person closest to us. Insisting on the kind of paperwork that only a legal representative can release just exacerbates the trauma for those of us who've been estranged by our families of birth. It's a terrible policy by an increasingly shitty website.
