My adopted brother's been showing me Final Fantasy 14 lately and I might decide to purchase it along with a subscription. So I want to hear from anyone on here who might also play it! What's your favorite race? Job classes? Build? What side things do you enjoy doing? I have a Viera Arcanist I've been playing under my brother's account so he could show me around the game, so I'm curious to hear what other people have made and done with their characters.

I love FFXIV! I've played for about two years now. My main class is dragoon, which I really enjoy. I'm also leveling dancer and ninja at the moment, and both seem like a lot of fun so far. The game definitely can be a bit slow at times especially in the beginning, but the story gets tons better once you get to the first expansion. Oh, geez. I am quite fond of FFXIV. I've been playing since just before 1.0 got shut down for the ARR reboot. ARR definitely took it in a better direction, in my opinion. And they just keep getting better at telling their story. The main story quests (the story line) is a big part of why I love playing it. Square has also done a good job in keeping their fans in mind. Each yearly event has been different every time it has come up. The rewards may not be available for free any longer, but a year later they will release it in the cash shop. I appreciate being able to buy an item I want for less than the cost of the monthly sub if I had been active at the time.

But, to answer your actual questions, I think Miqo'te are my favorite. Au Ra would be my second favorite. Each race has its own charm though. Er...I just really hate the gender locking they did with the two new ones. After the big leap they did with making male Miqo'te and female Roegadyn for ARR. I will always have a soft-spot for bard. I still utilize it as my main job. I fell in love with astrologian until Shadowbringers released. They mucked with the card system and now I genuinely see little point in bothering with balancing cards. Maybe if I sat down with it a bit longer, I could warm up to it...but I am still really salty. I had a lot of fun with the older card system.

For side stuff, I enjoy decorating my house and guild house. Provided I have the gil to support the spending spree that comes with it. I like crafting, but since the revamp to the system, I need to relearn a few things. The beast tribe quests can be entertaining and I do not feel terribly obligated to keep up with them on a 'daily' basis despite there being daily allotments. All in all, it just really depends on if I am playing solo, or if I have a friend in tow. That generally changes up what I attempt to do. The primal boss fights I enjoy a lot as well.

I downloaded the starter version and created a character on PS4 earlier in the year, but didn't properly start playing until about a month ago. And now I'm hooked. Hell, I'm playing right now! 😂

Only one character right now. Female Miqo'te, Keeper of the Moon. Started as a Gladiator, and am now a Paladin. Unlocked Samurai and Red Mage recently. Also working through Marauder, Pugilist, Lancer, Rogue, Archer, Thaumaturge, and Arcanist on the side, just to mix things up and keep it interesting.

Playing a Tank is fun, but I think I'm going to end up really enjoying Rogue. The guild quests are a lot of fun.

I'm levelling all the DoH and DoL classes too. I do a lot of swapping around to gather the items needed for the DoH classes, so those are levelling pretty quick.

Doing a lot of stuff solo, but enjoying the dungeons too.

FFXIV is great fun and pretty much the only game I play nowadays. Been playing since ARR beta and I love the fact that you can have all jobs on one character. Makes it easier for me so I don't have to switch between characters if I want to play something else for a change. My character has always been a female Miqo'te and she started as a Paladin but because of things that happened in the story (yes, I have story reasons for changing her main job xD) she is now a Dark Knight.

I just like leveling things so I've leveled everything up to max, all combat classes and all crafting and gathering classes ^^;

I play it! Joined it on September last year and I'm starting Shadowbringers right now. My character is a male Au'Ra and I main Paladin/Scholar. Currently on the futile attempt to get Necromancer and dying before level 15... I'm not very good at this deep dungeon thing x)

I also like doing beast tribe quests! The kobold, vath and namazu are such little dearies.

I play FFXIV. I have been playing since 2015. I play a male Miqote by the name Celi Roronoa on Leviathan server. I also have a pet here to represent my character. :)

FFXIV is definitely one of my top favorite games along with Genshin Impact.

I've been considering playing it, I'm a big WoW classic player and MMOs are my favorite game genre. Sigh... some day!!!!

I realize this thread is almost a year old, but the game has really blown up over Fall 2021. I finally bought into the hype and tried it back in August and was immediately hooked. The endgame is challenging, 8 person raiding is very fun compared 20 in WoW. I really liked the gearing system too.

I started playing FFXIV a bit over a year ago, after becoming dissatisfied with WoW. In the time since I began playing, I've grown to absolutely love it! My character is a lalafell DRG main (started as a MNK main but once I tried DRG I liked it way more). I've been taking it slow going through MSQ, so right now I'm getting close to the end of Stormblood.

I love FFXIV! I've been playing since early 2020, I think. Prior to that my MMO experience was OSRS (mostly when it was just RS, back in 2008ish) and ESO (which I liked but wasn't good at and found hard to stick to).

I started as a female Viera, and I first mained Summoner, which...they changed a lot in Endwalker...it still makes me sad...LOL. I like how accessible new SMN is, but I memorized a 2 minute rotation for no reason and I want it back so badly. I still play new SMN and it's fine. I also play Black Mage, and I occasionally run Dark Knight. Dark Knight has the BEST storyline attached, I adore it.

My favorite race to play now is probably Elezen. I don't like playing male characters, but I've fantasia'd a fair amount...xD I still really enjoy Viera, and I think male Viera are super cute. I'm excited for when female Hrothgar get added, because I will probably love them, no matter how they turn out.

I'm still not caught up with Endwalker (I NEARLY am, but I had to relearn the game with just keyboard after using an MMO mouse and/or controller, since both of the latter hurt my arm), but I still log on to do my gardening every day, and I've been trying to rope some friends into running Deep Dungeons with me again, since they're my favorite content in the game. They are supposedly adding one before the next expac. I also like decorating my FC house, and my husband and friend both keep feeding me money to keep decorating. xD

I love the game so much! I highly recommend anyone who hasn't tried it to give it a shot, it's awesome how much the devs care about player input. Maybe they're just scared they'll have to reboot the game again if players get mad enough, lol, but it still results in a feeling that my money's not going to waste.

I've been playing FFXIV since uh, mid Heavensward expansion and honestly I don't think I can return to WoW or other MMO's as this will be my favorite(until something comes in that does it better)

Race? I've been all the races almost(Except giraffe neck Elezen) but my favorite race will always be Femroe because tall buff female.

As for favorite job? Sam and WAR. Sam was just the most engaging phys DPS for me(I went from BLM to SAM) and War is just ungabunga shut off brain and fell cleave until death.

The one thing that makes me love it honestly is that it's story is so good and cohesive. And as opposed to say WoW where there was one or two sad moments(In my opinion) FFXIV has had me crying so many times because the story has been so good, and I've been invested in so many characters and wanting to know what happens rather than it being something to just go through because it isn't interesting.

I really recommend it because of the story and the fact that if you don't like the class/job you play you can just change without having to create a new character.

I've been playing FFXIV since June 2021. I'm halfway through Endwalkers now. My character is a Miqo'te. My favorite classes so far are Red Mage, Dancer and Sage.

Red Mage Lvl 90 Dancer Lvl 85 Sage Lvl 76 Reaper Lvl 76 Summoner/Scholar Lvl 60-ish White Mage Lvl 50-ish

I also have all of my crafters and gathers between Lvl 30-50.

I've been playing for about 5 years now. I love it. It's the only MMO I play consistently. I am in a very casual raid group that meets weekly. My character is an Au Ra, and my favorite class is Warrior. Tank main for life! I have a bit of everything leveled, along with max level crafters/gatherers. With my free company, I do a little bit of RP. Mostly I write stuff on my tumblr or in google docs with them. I really enjoy decorating my house and apartment.

!! I've been playing since a little before they announce Heavensward! I've been a lalafell but because I feel like it's pretty much me LOL Short IRL. I used to be a Lalafell Summoner, but now I'm a Lalafell Astrologian. I've mostly been leveling all my other classes, running Eureka Orthos, but also now doing MSQ and stuff and some mount farming.

I found a thread on FF14! Woo. Okay so I've played since day one release and then stopped because the game was a dumpster fire at launch. I came back for ARR but then everyone from my linkshell left so I faded away. Then I had a friend play and ask me to join her server after the first expansion. But sadly by the time I got my character to max level, she left the game. Then I had another friend from here mention it back around Heavensward and I jumped in again on Fairie sever, the friend hardly ever logged in, so I was soloing to max level but I met a ton of great friends.

I'm working on getting reliable net set up tomorrow and then I plan on living on FF14 and Duck said she'd help me out. But anybody else that wants to play too, let me know! My main class is Paladin, but before the current Endwalker expansion (which I have not played yet) I had max level on all tanks, healers, red mage, samurai, summoner, and all crafting classes. I love learning each class. I loved the Eureka content and the Deep dungeon, and map hunts and the events, and everything. Ping me or sMail me and we can play together, I'm really tuff!

Oh this is one of my favorite games! I've been playing for about two and a half-ish years now, Originally came in on the free trial to see what my partner had been going on about and instantly fell in love. I ended up buying everything after I hit level 20 so the free trial did not last long for me and I am completely okay with that.

I am on Primal/Levi if anyone wants to chill out. I'd love some reason to get back into the game while waiting on 7.0. Gonna help Omni get through some content and I am full on contemplating running an alt to re-experience the story again.

I also played since the day 1 release, although in my case it was the relaunch's day 1. :) I'm mostly a hardcore raider these days so if you or want to take a shot at endgame content, let me know!
