Seems to be a lot of older Subetians returning in the last few months. (Did we all come down with a nostaliga-bug of some sort? lol)

So here goes, long time member, just as long a time forum lurker. I've been back for, well about a week now. Spent a lot of time cleaning up the mess I left a handful of years back (maybe 3 yrs since my last short term return that didn't really last very long but about 5-6 since I was on regularly). Still have a lot to do in terms of spot messes and figuring everything out again but feeling stable enough to post and say hi!

Heh, I'm glad someone recognised it, I haven't seen it on TV here in years but my eldest (who is now 17) and I used to love watching it together when she was younger.

Oh, gosh, um, most excited would have to be the holidays. Especially Morostide & Great Pandemic but also Luminare because that's when everyone gets a real community feel and there's so much going on. Everyday though, quests and I've challenged myself to be more forum active this time. What's your favourite time of year/slice of Subeta?

It was on Netflix for a while but I've just been watching it on Youtube recently! Such a cute show, there should be more gothic kids' shows for sure nods

New spooky is always good. I caught the end couple days of the quest-a-thon so I think that means I get at least the basic rewards (another pet slot yay! can always do with more pet slots for no real reason other than I want more pets than I've collected in the past 14 years haha). Definitely looking foward to Keel Haul too, just cause pirates! And the Subetaversary in about a week. So many things coming up, heh..

Awesome, you’ll definitely get the good bulk of the prizes including the pet slot!! The only one that was a tiered prize was the yellow border. Which I decided to go all-out for, cuz if there’s one thing I’m good at, it’s spending way too much time online hahah. That skill will come in handy for the upcoming stretch of holidays!

Your pets are all beautiful btw, their names match their looks very well! Also semi-related, have you unlocked the rift avatar skin yet? The rift has such a wonderful color scheme :3

Lets just go with I'm less than a year from 40, lol. Old. :P I swear my kids teach me more than I can teach them these days when it comes to technology but I grew up with it so basics and diy are like second nature. Everything else I figure out myself... except the need for all these different social media platforms, facebook, insta & twitter I get... snapchat & tiktok, I just don't know, too much, lol.

I totally second the too-much-time-online thing. I can sit here all day working on uni stuff & split screen SB, DC & a movie without blinking.

Aw thanks, a lot of them I hadn't finalised until I returned so their legacy names are all out of whack with what their names are now but I'm definitely not finished, the last couple just aren't getting the right zap or I'm missing an item to complete their look but I'm working on it heh. There's a rift avatar skin? I will have to get on that one cause the only one I have is Virus (original Pandemic strain) and my avatar usually gets changed at least once a week. Have been so distracted working out vault and gallery and pet things that I haven't actually changed it recently which I think I'm going to have to go do now, lol. And definitely, the rift colour scheme is amazing.

Ha, I used to have a Snapchat but.. never used it. Deleted the app. Same with Instagram, made one.. never used it. Made two accounts actually, several years apart, and the same thing happened both times XD

Oh yeah, the legacy name change! How do you feel about non-unique names? I'm currently zapping for one of those neat robot penguin experiments to use for a pet who fixes outdated technology. Well, "zapping" aka using a whole lot of when they're in people's forum sales. Takes a while but it's much cheaper!

I don't mind non-unique names, the way I see it my pets get to be named what I want them to be in such a way that it matches their look and not some name vaguely close to what I want which I can't have cause someone else already had it. This way my pets are named exactly what I want them to be without me resenting their name lol.

Heh, I'd already looked it up! No luck today but I'll be trying again when the clock turns over to see if I can get it.

I feel the same way about the new naming system! Haha, resenting is exactly how I'd describe my relationship with a lot of my old pet names. Kept 'em just because they were real words, they didn't even fit the characters, so I became disinterested in their stories. I've been working on my pets more after returning than I ever did before. Have never been much of a pet person but the newfound freedom of being able to bring any pet idea to life is really great!

I like -having- the pets. I like having the pets named what I want (matching their ultimate look). I'm not a pet person so far as giving them stories heh. They're all Lovecraftian-named and I like their stories within the context of the already written mythos. Kinda boring I suppose but I like them that way.

Weirdly enough I managed to remember some vague pet profile coding stuff, all after 7 years of not playing. It feels like magic, coding. Something I learned recently is to use "z-index" in order to layer the different elements on the page. Lifelong learner here, and constantly impressed by the power of the human brain :3

I had to go digging in old files for my basic profile code write up so that I didn't have to try to remember how I used to do it. Mostly once I have that I can transfer to pet pages or other profiles and just fiddle with the column numbers and such until it looks how I want. I might do it for my pets one day, but not today heh.

"Not today" is how I feel about story stuff. idk why but that always seems so daunting! Spend a couple hours figuring out coding stuff? Sure! Search through thousands of items to find ones that fit their treasure chests? Why not! But being creative..from scratch......in a coherent manner?? Not today, indeed XD

Haha, preaching to the choir! I'm 100% with you there. I can spend hours on code for backgrounds and profiles or going through horrendously long lists of items organising wishlist items or figuring out minions and treasure and books for my babies. But definitely no imaginative from scratch biography or story for them. I like the monotonous repetitiveness of it all, like my brain is half napping.

Hahah you’re right, it’s definitely great to have a low-focus task and let the ol’ brain relax a bit! A lot of energy goes into creating. I usually enjoy doing art too, mostly abstract stuff, painting and pastels—but lately all I’ve wanted to do is play Subeta and the Sims lol

It’s a nice change from uni tasks for sure. Thankfully that’ll be done for the year in about 4-5 weeks time so I can have more time to do nothing too brainy. Oh, I miss playing the Sims. I have 1 & 2, but prefer the original which is completely incompatible with my machine these days, heh.

Ooh, nice! Congrats on your imminent couple of months off--time to play lots of Subeta, heh XD The curse of obsolete technology!! Our Xbox 360 is slowly dying and we're waiting for my boyfriend's brother to get a Playstation 5, as he's said he'll give us his Xbox One lol. (Also, like, PS5? What!? We still have a PS2.. and it still works great!)
