Plenty of time to Subeta and given we’re heading into holiday season it’ll be greatly appreciated, heh. I had a working original PS until last year when it finally gave up. So disappointing cause some of those games my youngest was starting to learn to play!

The next few months are sooo eventful on here :o starting with PIRATE SEASON which, truth be told, kind of surprised me! RIP to your Playstation. Do you have any retro gaming stores near you? I got a Gamecube for $40 at our local one. What're some of the games you showed to your kid? (Please tell me Ape Escape was one of them XD)

I think this is only the second Keel Haul holiday I've actually managed to be on the site for in my over 14 years lol. Not sure how but I keep missing them, glad I'm here this time though with the way the holiday releases have changed through quests instead of restocking. I was a mean restocker back in the day but its far more time consuming than I can afford these days heh.

I wish we did. I could possibly try to get a second hand PS from a pawn shop or fb marketplace but they'd probably want a ridiculous amount. I had heard whispers that backwards compatibility was a thing so I'm tempted to buy a PS4 or 5 as the family christmas present this year.

OMG I loooove Ape Escape unfortunately my disc is not coping too well. Being that he's only 4 years old (and a very stereotypical boy), I went with Abe's Oddysee first. The first time Abe farted, he cracked up so badly I thought he was going to hyperventilate. Immediate favourite. And Spyro, he loved Spyro but I had to help him with getting some of the Egg Thieves and making more difficult jumps.

It's awesome that the items are available through questing. Also through that one vending machine.. goes to look up what it's called ..Ocean Depths! I've only managed to catch one restock in the Freyalise shop, and both the items sold out before I could click either of them XD

omg Abe's Oddysee! I remember being sooo confused while playing that game as a kid, lol. The Spyro series is so fun. They also have that incredibly shiny new remaster of the Spyro trilogy, but.. I'm not sure how I feel about remasters yet. Ha. They remastered some of the Mario games recently and it seems silly to me cuz one of them was just for the Wii. That's not old enough to remaster!

I’ve caught a few restocks, mostly things to store or wear and only ever in the middle of the night when it’s nice and quiet Subeta-time, heh.

I’ve found a place that sells refurb ps2 so that’s an option too since my discs will work on that. Whereas if I got a 4 or 5 I’d have to rebuy them in the store and not all of them are available apparently. I’m dubious about the remasters, I mean, if they just upped the graphics to make them pretty then sure no problem, but if they messed with the story that’s when they lose me.

I definitely thought I replied and.. did not do that. lol. I feel the same about remasters. Also if they mess with the graphics tooooo too much, it turns me away. Oddly enough, graphics that are too realistic kind of hurt my eyes. Pixellated edges.. they help somehow XD

Happens to the best of us, heh. Yes! Even for the totally blocky, terrible graphics, if they’re too far removed or changed from the original I don’t want to see it. I have field of view issues where I have to mess with the number, especially for games like Wolfenstein and Bioshock, I end up with motion sickness within 30 minutes if it’s not right. My kids think that’s hilarious cause I don’t get motion sickness with anything else, just specific kinds of games. OH! So, update on the console situation. Grabbed a PS2 for my son (for Christmas cause he’s only 4 so the games are things I can actually help him play) and a PS3 for my daughter (who turns 18 in a few days) because she grew up playing Little Big Planet and I got the first two of those as well. She was the one that actually suggested the PS3 as a ‘family present’ sort of thing, though I think she was just trying to convince me to buy one for LBP, lol.

I did, one of the first things I checked off my list. :)
