I've asked many other places so I figured it can't hurt to throw it out here as well.

To sum up the issue, the police department with authority over the missing person's case will do nothing. It's been over two years, and Ty's son was born shortly after he went missing. If anyone can suggest what the family can do, who would be good to contact for help or anything else, please let me know!

If anyone has questions or would like more information, I can tell you whatever I know.

Ty and a coworker carpooled to work in Lineville, Missouri on January 22, 2018. Ty sent a text to his brother asking to be picked up because his coworker was acting strange, but he hasn't been heard from since. It is believed that foul play was involved in his disappearance. Ty was excited to become a father to his first child, a son who was born shortly after he disappeared.

Thanks to everyone who reads this and continues to learn about the case. It's seemingly become a non-existent topic even locally, so keeping the situation in people's minds is very important for the case to be solved someday. Since my first post I've learned some additional information from the family that if true, I would expect it to lead to an even more obvious evaluation of the co-worker's involvement... but as you can see with this new post, the case is still on ice. Suggestions and support continues to be greatly appreciated!

UPDATE: Ty's remains have been found.

Update : There was a claim that when Ty called his brother, multiple people were there who heard the call. Ty claimed that his coworker was chasing him with a gun. I just got confirmation that this is true.

Gosh, I am really sorry to hear about this - I hope some information will come forward about him soon, though. I know you have a link to a youtube channel talking about it already, but maybe family and friends could also reach out to channels like Explore With Us too, if that is something they would be comfortable with? They recently did some interviews and did an hour long video on Raymont Willis, who is a missing person from Ohio. It was posted on February 8th and already has 151,620 views.

Hey! Fellow Websleuths friend. I noticed in your thread you were looking for someone to get you in contact with the IA DA, I have close family in law and likely can grab those for you in a while, once I can get contact out/sleuth it out myself.

As a recommendation for further help, try to get in contact with Jared or anyone at Adventures with Purpose-- especially if you suspect or there is a body of water anywhere near where Ty disappeared from. They are trained recovery divers, and have located several cold case/botched attempts at finding missing people.

I know it'd be hard, especially in the area, to keep the story routinely in the news, but if there is any way to keep on them-- it'd help. News leads to pressure for LE to move once again, and y'all can't afford more time to wait..

Holding out hope for the best in the time it's taken. People have been recovered alive from worse situations, and I just hope they find him soon, stuck in someones bunker or milling around in another area for any number of reasons. But sadly, you may also want to seek out further jurisdictions for potential dump sites, as this definitely has a foul play vibe. I don't want to speculate too much, but every little route counts. (The co-worker vanished for what? Two days? How far could he drive there and back in that time? Any idea where he's from?)

And of course, I'll keep an eye on recoveries/John Does around the net. Least I could do, I feel! And my inbox is open anytime if you need it for anything.

A family member of Ty's said that the coworker headed to Minnesota to see his girlfriend during the time he was unaccounted for. Allegedly he had been found in a gas station somewhere along the way, but they weren't certain of the town other than it was in Northern Iowa. The coworker has ties between Iowa and Minnesota and supposedly lived in Iowa with his grandmother last we discussed it.

Hey, I am sorry to hear about this. I hope they find him and everyone can have closure. I watch those cold cases tv shows and i have hope one day truth will be found out. Please ping me if you get any more updates. I am praying for him to be found.

Minor update: The guy who owned the power washing company that Ty and his coworker worked for has died. The company was no longer active though and hasn't been for a few years. I don't know if anyone ever asked him about the case and whether he knew anything or noticed anything suspicious...

Hello, idk if this will be helpful, but a friend of someone I work with at Food Not Bombs recently had her adult son go missing. They organized a search party and my friend posted about it in the Food Not Bombs group chat. I met the group (there were only about 5 of us) and we went around the blocks around his last known/suspected location handing out flyers with his picture, picture of his car, last known/suspected location, and a family member's number they could call. We talked with, questioned, and asked for help from anyone who was willing to stop what they were doing. This was about 2 weeks since he had gone missing, but we got a lot of information while 2 of the group members staked out his last location watching for his car. The family found him alive the next day.

So if you reach out to your local Food Not Bombs or any other mutual aid groups, they may be willing to help out any way they can. The police did f-all so taking it into our own hands was the only option.

it's amazing that they still can't find him. Knowing the general area of places like Lineville there are a lot of good hiding places for a murderer to dump a person. I'm sure that it was foul play and it's unfortunate that nobody official seems to be doing anything.

Frustrating when crimes happen and the survellance cameras just happen to not be working, isn't it?

Admittedly this is far worse being a public location that's regularly packed with people and the incident resulted in 10 serious injuries, but if you feel this was sketchy... it's because it is.

(The security cameras at the hog confinement facility where Ty and his coworker worked just happened to be turned off at the time of his disappearance.)

I live in Kansas City and I'm surprised that I haven't heard anything about this case before. Mainly since I went to school in Southern Iowa for a couple years so I have a lot of friends that still live up in that area.

I'm so sorry. I see the adds with his name every so often, and it breaks my heart for the family and friends every time. I hope that he comes home. I cant imagine what you must be going through.
