Haven't done my Shinwa Quests for months now and today I noticed (again) that Maleria is one of the possible Quests to get the Shinwa Bracelet Shards. Soooo... isn't that nonsense, canon wise? I mean if Maleria would get a shard of that bracelet she'd never give it back or she'd destroy it... xD

Today she even had 2 of them. And it was almost like she was saying "Omg, you finished the Quest? Awesome. Here is some money and a Bracelet Shard from Shinwa, give it back to her and tell her I love her like the sister I always wished for."

Sooo, what I was going to say actually. It would probably make more sense if Maleria was removed from the Shinwa Quest list? Or we just change the canon and the two of them are being secretly bff. That could work as well, probably. xD

I always kind of imagined it as Maleria had stolen a piece of Shinwa's bracelet - either by finding it on the ground because that thing breaks often or because she was the cause of the break herself. Then when the user goes to her for the piece, she doesn't really "give" it to them so much as avert her eyes surreptitiously as the user grabs it and rushes back to Shinwa. (In exchange for them doing some labor for her in the form of a quest, ofc.)

I think Maleria is kinda amused that her rival can't seem to get it together enough to stop losing her bracelet everywhere, and every time another piece finds her way into her shop, she feels just a bit more superior.

When the user has to go back two or three times in the same day, I can just imagine her smug face and her thoughts: "Not only is Shinwa an idiot but her help isn't even smart enough to notice all the pieces I've got lying around the first time. Oh well, at least I'll get some labor out of them."

Anyway, that's my headcanon on the matter. :) So I like that Maleria is one of the options for Shinwa's quest.

Ya might want to change your title, it's misleading. I seriously thought you were meaning Maleria gave out the weapon by mistake or something. xD

I always thought that Maleria was playing a prank on Shinwa every day - sending a minion to break her bracelet and scatter the bits around. And she ends up keeping one or two for herself.

And Shinwa either never catches on, or knows but doesn't care enough because eh, it's just a "magical" bracelet, she probably has 500 more like it collecting dust. But she has to interact with mortals so they don't forget she exists and sending them on a mundane fetch quest is a great way to do it. :P

My head cannon is that Shinwa is checking up on Malaria frequently to make sure sis' isn't hatching a more than usually nefarious plot. Shinwa is a self centered little ditz, and Maleria is a smug villan, who is more than happy to rub her sister's nose in it every time she loses pieces of her useless bracelet. That, and Maleria gets us to run her errands and bring her weapons and stuff, in order for Shinwa to fix her jewelry.

THAT is a very interesting idea, never thought about it. And in that case it makes sense. xD

Ahh, two another good ideas. :o So, Maleria knows the Bracelet is useless and lets us help Shinwa to repair it, knowing that it's no use at all anyways? Hmmm...rubs chin xD

i kinda see it as a little game they play, like bowser repeatedly "kidnapping" princess peach and mario "rescuing" her.

That's alright! I was like, 'wait she's giving out THAT weapon? That's gotta be a glitch". xD Yeah, I noticed one time getting asked for one of Shinwa's bracelets in a quest. Kinda sucked having to decline it because it was too expensive. Dx

I'm fine with the Quest working the way that it does.

The Oracle forces them to play nice, otherwise Subeta would be a wasteland. The other side of what said is that Shinwa knows perfectly well she can use her beauty to send mere pathetic mortals into Maleria's castle to pester her and force her to hide whatever she's currently doing while they get the shards. Maleria doesn't dare punish them very hard.

Of course she Maleria does punish users for doing this because she's evil. I know in Help & Questions it's a common ask "which quests are best" and many folks don't think that Maleria's is one of the must-dos. Completing her quests is a chore, and there are probably other unspeakable things that are happening on the way there and on the way back out that Subeta Staff in all their mercy is not describing to us hapless users.

Not that Shinwa would care too deeply about that.
