Sorry this is going to be such a.. short, self-explanatory thread lol.
I think it would be nice to display pets' legacy names in the Adoption Center! That way we can see if they have one or not before adoption. :) Or alternatively, nuke Legacy pet names when they get put in the AC, though I think that would remove a fun aspect of trading the pets around.
This would be nice for the idea that they might have a legacy name different from their current name that you would actually like.
So I vote for making them visible somehow, but not for nuking them.
This! So much this! I'm planning on never making a new pet again, only adopting, and would be very happy to know if the pet have a Legacy name.
I would love to see Legacy names in Adopt R Us! I feel like there's some cool stuff you could do with them.
I do not support auto deleting them.
I...had a feeling a thread like this would pop up. 😆
But yeah, I think this is feasible to do. Just add a line in the code for the information of an AC pet, right?
It'd be cool to see that IMO.

Just a thought: if there was a link to the pet's profile somewhere on their adoption page, it would help to solve this problem.
I always check the pet profile of a pet that I might adopt. For some reason with the changes I cannot get to any of them.
I really like 's idea of having a link to the pet profile on the adoption page but I do not support deleting a legacy name when a pet goes to the pound.
I don't know who runs the Adoption Center but it might be fun if they were the Foster parent/pet owner.
Hey, thanks for the suggestion. While we understand why some people would want these changes, we won't be displaying legacy names in the Adopt R Us, and pets will continue to keep their legacy name when they are abandoned there.
Legacy names are a way for us to acknowledge that these pets had names that were hard fought for. It’s not a feature that is going to be built on or expanded, it’s for the users who had pets when we made the change, and so we won’t be adding it to any other places, nor making any further changes to it aside from the option to remove it.

okay, but... why? why not show them in the details page when you click on a pet? I found a pet I liked in the adoption center last night (One Trick Pony), adopted it hoping that name was also its legacy name, then discovered its legacy name was actually Phone Sex. So I abandoned it again for someone that might actually want that legacy name for whatever reason. That's just a waste of my time and sP, when a line could easily be added to the pet's details page that shows their legacy name for anyone interested in that information. x_x Since pet searches are broken right now (I name changed Senkets -> Senketsu but his search result now leads to the legacy name'd pet instead) there's no way to check this information before adoption.
Well, there is still a roundabout way to check for those who really want to - you can still view the pet's profile using the pet ID number in the URL. But no, ultimately, we're not making further changes to this feature because it would be against the spirit we intended for legacy names.
The legacy name isn't meant to be treated as a pet's secret "real" name. The pet's name is its real name now as it always was, and the legacy name was something we added to honor and acknowledge that the pet had a name that may have been hard fought for.
