Many of us have a lot more time at home and added leisure time now because of the pandemic. Have you been doing anything creative? What are you making?
I'm working from home so I have more time to crochet, cook, and bake things that I normally only would have had time for on weekends. My current craft project is crocheting scrunchies from a pattern by Amanda Love Santos. I'm going to make applesauce next because I bought a big bag of apples at the farmers market and they'll go bad before we can eat them all since they don't have any preservatives.
What are you working on? c:

i made some Irish soda bread earlier today. It came out pretty good though I think I got the recipe slightly wrong. The bread came out a tad more scone like than bread like, but I didn't have a pastry cutter so just used the two knives method to mix the butter in. The dough itself also came off way, way too batter like and wet initially until I added in more flour to make it drier and more actually dough-ish.
Also made scones and soft pretzels a week or two back. The scones were vegan( used coconut oil and a chia seed egg in place of the butter and eggs in the recipe) but the soft pretzels weren't. Editing in to add that I did use recipes for all of them so they weren't created from scratch though the scones recipe was modified with what I had in the cabinet.
also made some blueberry muffins today.
I've also done some art but I've also been super lazy and haven't really been doing as much as I should though.
I tie dyed a bunch of pride flags and have enough dye to make like seven more at this point.
Also legos. They might not be creative but they definitely distracted me for several hours.
Working on filled wardrobe achievement. Almost at 12k!
I've written all my life, but it's been harder to find the time to write over the last few years because of work. I'm finally back to writing again... also doing a lot of research for a historical story.
I've mostly been super lazy, but have started a few projects. A tri-point byzantine weave chain, have been working slowly on learning to needle knit, worked some on a loom knit shawlette, started an interesting hooded scarf that connects to fingerless gloves (as a prototype for a much larger and more complicated pattern I want to learn/make), started a loom knit entrelac scarf only to discover that the instructions weren't complete...and that's about it so far. Am hoping to finish up a couple of the wips this week, but we'll see. Also have read a little bit and would like to finish a book in the next couple of weeks as well.

I have been doing loads of art, and loving it.
Art's something I've let slide over the last couple of years and so I made a new year's resolution that this year would be my Art Year and I was going to Make Time and Do Art and really work on the skills that I'm not happy with. A global pandemic which forces everyone to say home for weeks is like...the worst way possible to accomplish my goals, but it does mean I've really stuck to it.
It's kind of been my saving grace, because nothing makes me switch my brain off like drawing. The time sails by.

I've been sewing the last few weeks when I can muster up the motivation. So far I have sewn up a bunch of dribble bibs as a few friends are having babies. Also sewn up a ton of tie up elasticated headbands, sensory blankets for babies, zipped purses (for make up/coins/whatever), little hooded vests for children and aprons (the cute half vintage style ones) as I needed an apron for baking...I made the main part of the apron in a black and white gingham and then the tie and two front pockets were with a beautiful floral fabric. I have also sewn two of the 'Rita Blouse' by Gertie for Charm Patterns and a 'Peter Pan Bolero' from the same designer :).
I'm building an online D&D simulator. Yes, it's been done, but I hate them all, so I'm trying to make one that's easy to understand for players who also hate online.
Making the images was harder than expected but it's engaging my creative side
the past two months haven't been kind to me mental health wise re: current events, but i was able to get some short term disability!
since then, i've managed to draw some fanart, revamp my fursona's ref, and do some color studies/paintings. it feels good to be able to create again ;w;
I've been drawing, cooking, and baking a lot more. My biggest project has been trying to maintain a successful sourdough starter. It's been a few weeks and it's doing well so far, but I haven't baked a proper loaf with it yet.
I point my friends who want to learn how to knit to this video tutorial.
My boyfriend is currently feeding a sourdough starter and has another one dormant in the fridge. I've really been enjoying his bread, and I can share some recipes that use the discard if you're interested.
I should be working on a crochet face mask but I started Hermione’s bag instead last night. I want a homemade mask to go over my disposable masks, and to match a scrunchie.

Er....so by "slowly learning to needle knit" what I actually meant was "I learned the basics of making a simple scarf a month or two ago, but never take the time to sit and work on it".
XD

Yes, I would love some recipes for that! I've been using some of King Arthur Flour's recipes, but the biggest issue is that my household doesn't eat very much.
Congratulations on maintaining a sourdough starter successfully! I managed to create and maintain one as a quarantine project too...until I accidentally killed it last week :(
I have been building up my music playlists, teaching myself to dance from youtube videos, and I finally started my first bullet journal. I only discovered bullet journals a few months ago via pinterest. I am super proud of my progress so far, I have already learned so much and developed my own style. I have been using a lot of water color in mine and I'm in love.

So far so good! Thicker yarns/needles and smaller projects like hats are great for beginners because they work up so quickly.
Sourdough starter crackers - I like these with cinnamon sugar. Sourdough chocolate chip banana bread muffins - The most flavorful banana bread I’ve ever made. Texture and moisture is amazing too and they freeze really well. Sourdough discard pancakes - I haven’t tried the other two recipes at the linked page, but the one for pancakes makes the best pancakes. They aren’t heavy at all.

Yeah, I definitely made a mistake by going with the small needles for a first project. But the only other needles I had were the giant vampire slayer ones and I don't have any yarn thick enough for those. And I didn't have the money to go buy stuff. shrug But if I would just set a goal of a few rows a day and stick to it, I could probably finish it pretty quickly. I just get sidetracked with loom knit projects and my diamond dots thing and chainmaille stuff and learning basic crochet (I'm probably about 1/3 through a simple square dishcloth). Lol

I made:
a large book mark, for large books - embroidered in cross stitch. The picture is right before i finished its hem

a pillow cover from a scrap of fabric i had and served no purpose.

i finished a pillow - i was collecting the tiniest scraps and thread ends for the filling -no picture
a few reversible face masks, and i have a few as WIP

i started making some shorts for my fiance. but i think i bit more than i can chew, so they're WIP for now. i don't really understand the instructions, actually.

I also used instructions to make the pattern for a cape. In the picture, the cape is quite short. i made it to the ankles. my problem? i thought i have enough fabric to make it. i don't.

I really have to update my blog ObscureJourney and my review site BeingObscure. French speakers can read my reviews here.
Really wish i'd've been more creative during this time, but it seems my productivity have self-quarantined as well. I really want to get back into drawing or even just start on my 3D projects but alas, video games and tv shows have been my companions for the past month at least.
But hey, I am back on subeta!
but seriously, really hope to get back to my studies soon. too much leisure time is not good for my brain apparently.
Idk how thick your needles are, but that worsted weight yarn in your photo could be doubled up where certain heavier weights are called for. I knit reasonably well but I prefer crochet. A dishcloth is a good choice for a beginner project. I have tons of yarn at home but I wish I had more cotton yarn.
Nothing wrong with that! I think it's really important that quarantine isn't necessarily "productive." Welcome back to Subeta, and I hope you enjoy working on your projects when motivation/inspiration strike. c:
