It's 2020, can we please lift women up instead of telling them they look like inappropriate hoes? I don't care what women like to wear, they don't deserve to be slut shamed or spoken down to for it. Basically, I love these items but I am so over that language. Can the write ups next to these items be updated please?

The sound I made while reading the pink one... Yeah, a little upgrade would be nice.
EDIT : My foreign self didn't know what "hussy" meant and it's worse than I imagined.
I support this. The black one and the pink one are really cringy. Subeta is supposed to be a nice fantasy land where I can get away from the crap that gets hurled at women in real life.
Fully support updating this. I was really hoping the descriptions were a joke but unfortunately not.
Huh, I only just realized that says hussy and not honey. Yeah, that should probably be changed.
The white one can be taken in a non slut shamey and dregoratory way but considering the context of the other items... It's kinda upsetting.

I figured that it was clothing meant for zombies; so you, a zombie, would just be getting your drool on it. Taken with the other descriptions it can be interpreted in a less "nice" way though, yeah. I think if the others descriptions are changed that one can probably be left alone.
Oof
I'm surprised it's taken 7 years for any of us to notice how inappropriate those descriptions are, but I'm also surprised they were written and published to the site in the first place. Things weren't that different in 2013.
Wow, okay.
Uh.
No. It might be "cutesy" and "for fun for the event," since everyone strips down to their undergarments, but can we NOT do this?

Seems to imply prostitution more than anything, but really, it's not that offensive to me. Dress like a slut, expect to be called one. If I saw someone unironically wear a top like this irl, and no other shirt or bra for layering purposes, yeah, I'd call'em a slut, and so would everyone else.

'Dress like a slut get called a slut' big yikes. Big ew.
These are way due for an update. I can't believe we even let them get through in the first place? How did we not notice the descriptions when they first came out? Yeesh.
Speak for yourself dude. I see you commenting a lot on things like this and expecting everyone else to just agree with you because you're "obviously" right. Well this may come as a surprise to you, but people have different opinions and just because they're not the same as yours doesn't make them wrong...
Anyway, back on topic. I feel like the descriptions probably should be changed, and I know there are likely some other items with questionable descriptions like these on site, and it would be nice if those could be changed too whenever people come across them (because nobody really has time to personally check 100k+ item descriptions lol)
I don't expect anyone to agree with me here, considering it's extremely leftist here. Just like you said, people have different opinions, therefore my opinion is just as valid as any others here. It has nothing to do with being right or not.

I'm not saying you can't have an opinion at all, but the "so would everyone else part" is not even an opinion, it's an incorrect statement that you seem to believe is a fact.
But whatever, it's not worth arguing with you so have a nice day ~
That was meant in context to real life interactions, not here on the Internet. Read it again. And yes, it would very well happen irl. People don't want to see that kind of inappropriate dress-wear (again, if it's layered with other clothing, it's obviously not a problem) when at the grocery store. Time and place. On the streets working or in your own home? fine. Out in public places with every day people? You're going to be criticized.
shame you'd rather give up on a conversation than try to understand. My sMail inbox is always open, since that would be the better place to take this off-topic discussion elsewhere.

Yeah these def are in need of an update!
No matter how inclusive or progressive a place/space is for marginalized people, there is still bound to be problematic stuff because people aren't perfect.
These were made seven years ago. Were you the same person you were seven years ago? I definitely wasn't.
There are SO MANY items on this site so it's hard to find old, problematic content until someone else stumbles across it and points it out (sometimes years later). But fortunately, we have staff that see these threads and are actually willing to update descriptions and other content that may be problematic! <3
Did I, in 2020, just read "Dress like a slut, get called one?" Did I just read that? With my own two eyes.
Just because it's an "opinion" doesn't mean that people can be upset - this is a disgusting, damaging opinion.
Neonazis have opinions, does that mean that I can just let them spew hatred because "oh well it's their opinion uwu". No. Same here, I don't have to be at ease with people slut-shaming people of clothing. This is harmful conduct and it isn't acceptable in any circumstance.
Back to topic, these should be changed ASAP - there are so many jokes that could be made, and none of the ones currently these are gr8.
Um, I'm not sure where to start...
You say that the text "seems to imply prostitution more than anything" but sexually active women/provocatively dressed women get slapped with the prostitute label all the time. It's often used as an insult and meant to demean. Like, there are a ton of words like that (slut, whore, tramp, harlot, etc.) and they're all geared toward tearing women down. Men are usually lauded for having sex and women are shamed for it. There's very much a double standard. There just aren't words of that same caliber for men. (Please don't say "gigolo" or "player." Those words don't hit the same as the previously mentioned ones and you know it.)
You say that "everyone" would call someone dressed like that a slut, then clarify when an objection was raised that you meant people in real life and not online. People on the internet also exist in real life! I wouldn't call someone else a slut, because how they dress themselves is none of my GD business. Also, just because a lot of people do a given thing, doesn't make that thing right. And finally, people celebrating Survival by wearing skimpy clothes is site lore. Look at the Survival Subetapedia article. Why would they come up with that custom, put out wearables in that style, and then insult people for wearing them? That makes no sense. (Yes, it was a joke. Clearly. But jokes aren't immune from criticism.)
