Please share them with me! I'm super curious to see (or rather, hear) what sounds make other people drift away to the dreamland ;P My personal favourite of all times is definitely the erhu and I'd love to learn it one day. The second place is taken by the piano and electric guitar!
Moving this to the Music subforum.
Also, I like piano, saxophone, cello, and the Armenian duduk.
Ah thanks, I realized too late it shall be placed in the Music subforum!
Piano and saxophone are heavenly instruments, and I haven't really heard the sound of duduk before, but I checked it and it sounds absolutely amazing. <3 Definitely adding it to my favs list. Thanks for sharing!
i really like the erhu as well <3 If there was any instrument i'd like to learn how to play, it would definitely be this one. The Guzheng is a close 2nd. This instrument i wouldn't learn - i think it's better enjoyed when listening. It can sound like a piano and a guitar? at the same time.. at least it does to my ears. the Guqin sounds really good too.
now, to check out the duduk.
I really have to update my blog ObscureJourney and my review site BeingObscure. French speakers can read my reviews here.
Oh how cool to see other erhu lovers :D It's totally a dream of mine to learn how to play it! The guzheng is absolutely amazing as well and I really like listening to its sound. To be honest, I enjoy traditional Eastern music overall, haha! I've never heard the guqin before, though, and thank you so much for sharing, I love it! <3
The duduk is magical, I can't believe I haven't learned about this instrument before :P
I grew up playing piano so obviously my vote goes for that. Also purchased a kalimba not too long ago and I love the sound of it. Need to practice on it again at some point.

I honestly love piano and saxophone. Something about the jazzy tones of an alto sax just... ooh, I love it!
the steel guitar is one of my favorite sounding, and the bass guitar is super close to my heart
Mine a electric bass enthusiast, I mention around that i have a sinister bass. I hope to someday hear her sing, the way she deserves to be played.
Upright also is an option, something one of my grandfathers played.
The only instrument I know how to actually play is the flute, and I love hearing it in music. On top of that though, I absolutely adore piano music, as well as really solid guitar riffs. I often fall in love with the background music in a ton of games for the way the melodic sounds tend to just call to me.

Electric guitar is probably my favorite since I love rock music so much, but drums and cellos are up there as well. I have a soft spot for old folk music though, and I’d like to think that appreciate instruments like banjos and harmonicas more than most...

I lovee violin but as a violinist I know it is very hard to play well lol. I also like the flute a lot along with cello and oboe. ...so those would be top tier, but at A tier it would be of course piano, the erhu (even though it doesn't project like guitar haha), and guitar! B tier would be the sax, trumpet, and harp!
I play the violin the last 28 years now
Ocarina and saxophone

I played the flute all through school, and I loved it. I really miss my days in symphonic band. I often fall asleep to kalimba music, because I find it so relaxing.

i just love the trumpet! when it's layered well it can really make a song for me : )
I'm a fan of the xylophone/marimba etc. because that's what I played in school, but I love hearing saxophones in music
