Got a snowball, threw it, got an achievement, wondered if there is any other point to throwing snowballs. Are there tangible items rewarded after X amount thrown?
Snowball-throwing is a tiered achievement! Throwing one snowball doesn't do much for you, but the aim is to do lots and lots and lots. (Probably over several years. It's one of the marathon achievements, not one that you can grind out in an hour or two!)
Click here to see the Snowballs achievement: you get a sticker for doing 2,500 of them, a trading card for 25,000, and a book for 50,000.
If you go to the main Achievements page, it lives in the "Seasonal" section under "Luminaire".
TLDR on seasonal/holidays
Morostide = Halloween, early November
Fireside = Bonfire Night, late November
Luminaire = Christmas, all of December
Atebus Revolution Masquerade = a Subeta special, March
Vesnali = springtime, May
The Great Pandemic/Survival = zombies and valentines, February
Subetapedia on site events and holidays
Most of the rest of the categories are pretty self-explanatory, except the "Site Events" which were special one-off events, sometimes known as "Plots".

It's fun to choose snowballs and fling them at people. Try it
, I did. It was boring. So I reiterate, what's the point besides throwing snowballs?
The point is the achievements, as mentioned above. If you're not interested in working on those achievements, then there isn't anything else to get out of it.
Yeah achievements are overrated. Never been one to chase them, this can be closed.
