I would like the option to sort my inventory based on food and books.

Well that's embarassing xD it can be done, my bad.

There is already a sorting feature found on the inventory page where you can organise the inventory into item categories. Just click the Yes button on the "Show Categories" option at the top of the page.

There is a problem with the inventory sort, however. Multi-use items are inconsistent. For example: Avocado Earrings are both food and clothing and show up under clothing category. Unsuspecting Sunflower Seed Cookie is also both food and clothing and shows up under food category. How to Plant a Tree Kit is both book and clothing and shows up under Clothing.

I have no idea of the reasoning behind these choices or how the categorizing system "chooses" where they will show up. That might be something worth discussing.

No worries! I never really acknowledge the sort menu on that page myself (until I noticed your post and remembered that there was something like that already). Glad I could help! ^^

The multi-use item issue sounds like something that could be looked into.

I don't use the category sort very often. For one thing, there are many errors (which are being worked on, yay! There's a ⭐ Items in Incorrect Category for that).

But the other issue has always been multi-use items. I'm not sure what all the categories are, since they only show if you have stuff in them currently in your inventory, but I'd love see a multi-use category, if that's possible. That would indicate a need to check those items out.

So if I was looking specifically for books, I would check the book category, then hop to the multi-use category and get all the books.

I wouldn't mind more options but it's okay as is.
