There's a lot of great suggestions on here for pet colours, and I'd just like to share one of mine that's recently come to mind.

I feel that Subeta is quite unique in terms of selecting new colour choices for pets (in fact comparing them to another certain popular pet site I can think of a few closely related colours but never identical,) and maybe that's why I don't see many 'new' special colours appearing as opposed to colour fills.

I'm sure this idea's probably already been tossed around a few times but I would like to encourage people to exercise their creativity by having a 'Recycled Potion'. The potion can be set up to buy however staff deem fit, though I like the notion of the Hustler rummaging around in bins and squeezing the last few drops of whatever potion he finds into some questionable vial. Recycle Beast would be another good way to go with it, and could provide a nice sP sink as well.

The Recycled colour wouldn't exactly be a new colour, though I wouldn't say it's a colour fill either. It's a mish mash of any other potions/colours that already exist on the site. Exactly how many different colours are used are up to the artist to choose. Basically, you never know what you're going to get! One of the big drawbacks with this however is that if a new colour is introduced, it won't be included in any previous pet art already created (but if you mix maybe 2 - 3 colours and not try to stuff everything into one pet, I can't see this being much of a problem!) I have a feeling this suggestion is a long shot, but I would really like to see something like a ruffie playing in a spectrum colour storm, or a gentle frost creeping up on a glade devonti, or maybe a graveyard ontra feeling a little sweeter than usual. I just think it would be fun to mix and match colours together and I have a feeling they'd turn out pretty great c:

It's rather ambitious of an idea. I feel like this kind of thing can already be accomplished with simply using an overlay.

That's not to say it's a bad idea! I think it is extremely creative how you brainstormed this out. In execution though, I don't think it would be conducive. And then you run into the issue of trying to make every possible combo happen. It's a bit too much unfortunately.

I don't see a combo of potions working super well though just because incorporating elements of ALL the colors would be pretty busy-looking and if you throw just a handful on each pet, then we're going to have people complaining that their favorite pet ended up with XYZ colors instead of ABC

Thanks for your input guys c: I do believe 2 may be too little to mix, since you could in just make an overlay for it. My thought process was more like 3 - 4 colours. I guess the closest thing that I had to an existing pet in my imagination is probably experiment 7777 just a bit more extreme.

To be fair, I don't think many people would complain about the colour choices picked, since I don't really see many people complaining about nostalgic pets and what the artist's inspiration was. I don't see people complaining about experiment pets either, but that's probably because there's nothing existing to compare them to. At the same time though you do get strong opinions on revamps so, maybe?

An overlay does exactly what this Suggestion does, and it already has a payment method that Subeta sees fit. There are lots of excellent unofficial artists here, and commissioning their services is something you can do on Subeta and this is also part of the payment a user would have to make for this if they don't do the art themselves.

I'm not sure it benefits the site as a whole any or the users as a whole any by having the official artists involved and an official colorname attached.

I actually really like this idea!! I like the idea of 'misfit' pets, things like a graeyard/angel, or like you said, the flowers of a glade pet dying off as frost creeps up them. A nostalgic nightmare would be like...freaking wild.

No support for this one. It sounds like a lazy color, just putting together pieces of things that already exist. I agree with others here, it would look too busy, even ugly. Its easy to put an overlay together if you just want to mix pet's parts. I'd prefer to see staff creating a completely new and original color, or even putting the necessary effort into creating existing colors for existing pets than into this.
