Exactly what it says on the tin. Is Subeta Ink ever going to be open again? I really miss the tattoo feature, and I'm not okay with the fact that it's literally been down for years and you have to make a CW if you want a custom tattoo. Unless that's actually the plan to get more income. If it is, that's pretty crappy.

The tattoo parlor was implemented back in August 2010. I have no idea when exactly it was discontinued, I can't find any official news posts about it.

afaik, it had issues working with the newer wardrobes as well as needing to be moderated, so that's possibly why it was discontinued and CWs basically took up where it left off. CWs were released about... December 2011.

Users liked the tattoo feature so it clearly had potential. I don't think the site has the manpower to handle yet another thing that needs to be moderated, sadly.

I loved the tattoos. Now that people have paid for tattoo CWs, I don't think they can bring it back. :(

I don't see why not, I mean they weren't able to be layered like CWs can be.

Subeta Ink was a great way for those who can't afford CWs - for whatever reason - to still have an insane degree of HA customization. Why is it still MIA? I miss it.

I was just thinking about this. At the very least, if it will not be coming back, remove it from Centropolis so it stops taunting us.

wow i didn’t even know it was closed, i just thought tattoos went out of fashion. i don’t ever recall seeing a post as to why it was closed.

I don’t think the intent was to ever bring it back after it closed. I think they just forget about things sometimes like the tea house and when the stocks were gone but people still got events saying they’re stocks had gone down.

I've been wondering this for a while. I spent so long searching through official wears for tattoos and they're pretty nice but lacking variety :( And CWs are expensive/hard to obtain.

To reduce work, instead of allowing user submissions, just make a tattoo bank/book? Where people can choose from and are able to combine multiple ones for a certain degree of customization.

If someone wants a truly custom designed one then they have to go the CW route. Keeps both options open that way.

Yeah, I seem to remember it having something to do with it not really working with one of the newer versions of the wardrobe, but I'm not 100% sure about that. At this point though, it seems like the feature won't be making a return, at least not any time soon.

I'm inclined to agree that if they don't intend to bring it back they should remove it so it's not generating questions/taunting users. Sucks that people would have to resort to the much more expensive CW process to get custom tattoos but I can also understand that the site doesn't need anything else that requires moderation/approval at this time so it's probably best it is overall just removed.

I really miss the tattoo feature :c Honestly I really miss it, and I find it upsetting it was removed so suddenly and... only CWs are left as an option. I'd love for it to come back. If it has to be moderated, maybe to differentiate itself from CWs, once a tattoo is uploaded & approved, anyone could choose to wear that tattoo? Idk.

Considering we're coming up on two years of still no teahouse or updated west side Centropolis map, I honestly doubt Subeta Ink is coming back anytime soon. I suppose the answer would be "Well, with CWs now, why do we need a site feature that doesn't require CSC?" Seriously, the only way it'd come back is if a dumb CSC component were attached to it (I don't know if the tattoo feature even sued CSC in the first place, I never used it).

The original was sP, and the cost was relevant to the size of the tattoo.
