Your assignment for this chapter is to:
Decide your next destination and means of travel (1000 points) and Compile a list of songs which contain the name of a musical instrument in the TITLE. You may NOT duplicate an instrument. Minimum titles: 25 (1000) points get 30 (bonus of 500 extra) find 35 (bonus of another 500 extra)
So, 2000 possible for this part of the challenge.
You have until Monday, Sept. 10, at 11:59 pm Subeta time.
Yippina has opened the entire section of off-world music for this, so creatures of all species can research comfortably!
As always, questions and comments welcome.
must it be songs that are sung (with lyrics etc) or are pieces of music that are not sung (instrumental music) also accepted if their titles have an instrument?
Go teams! You've got this! :)

Echoing . I had a couple off the top of my head that are instrumental (gorgeous pieces that I love!) but no lyrics. Let me know if I should strike those out.
These are acceptable as long as they aren't a reach into interpreting every classical piece in order to meet the challenge. I did this with more mainstream and a few alternatives in about an hour as a solo test.
For example, Handel's Concerto for Organ in B-flat Major is actually listed as "HWV 294" (Händel-Werke-Verzeichnis) which is the catalog list of name and number for all his works. Yes, I know it sucks, but you can make a list this way.
However, you can also grab the seminal Sparks song: "As I Sit Down And Play The Organ At The Notre Dame Cathedral." No, I'm not a fan, but it's THERE.
Save yourselves trouble and headaches. :D If you're in doubt, send me the titles for review.
Thanks! There are SO MANY songs with musical instruments in the title. Piano, Guitar might hog 90% but the rest are there.
I'll just disclaimer that most I don't know so I ...uh, well don't necessarily go making a playlist because some of the lyrics themselves are not so fine. But the title works! :P
: I was going to include the song "My Sackbut, Krumhorn and Vibraslap Are On Fire" by Sparky and the Wheezles, but I found out that Sparky forgot to post it to iTunes and so the song isn't widely available to the general public. I hope some of the others fill the void.
There's a song for a super weird instrument that I didn't know had a song for it. And then another song for a super weird instrument where I learned about the instrument from the song. giggles

I'll accept it for ONE entry only, but you'll have to post it here, and any other team can use it, too!
All instruments are acceptable. Have some fun with this!
Of course, you could all post a link to your favorite "lesser known and used" instrument title on this thread. Who knows what could happen if you did?
I don't that I've ever heard this but:

This is cute: "Cat plays Sitar" by Shakti, an actual cat...
All three of my cats would have panicked, like "OMGERD! Its alive!" especially the one who's afraid of the air conditioner, but the right amount of treats/affection can calm the scarediest of cats
Formerly known as Habeebi
I will link, but not until after the deadline. wicked grin
And you're right, this isn't nearly as bad as I thought.
One question: if the title mentions the person who plays the instrument, would that count as having the instrument in the title? like drum -> drummer
what a musical kitty. but poor owners, being woken up by her music in the middle of the night.

:
This is a song by Sparky and the Wheezles called My Sacbutt, Krumhorn and Vibraslap is in LA Dying I know that it has three weird instruments in it, but it only counts as one song. You can even download the song and listen to it (with cotton in your ears...) I found out why they didn't upload it to iTunes...it wasn't finished and it was very derivative of two other songs...weasels...go figure.
Someone posted this and I thought you all would enjoy it.
