First of all, I just saw a banner for US: the Wayward Squirrel adventures! It's gorgeous, I love it, and I'm so touched! Who made it, please? It was such a delightful surprise!
Now, as to the chapter challenges: You will solve the puzzle for the passage you want to travel. You need to solve only one riddle, not both. Send your team's answer to me by smail, and I will send you Sir Wall's clue for the passcode or tell you if you are incorrect. At the same time, prepare an RP for how your team reaches the bottom. When you figure out the passcode, it should be the closing to your RP as it opens the way for you. Post your RP with your concluding answer to the passcode on the story thread for the chapter by August 2 at 11:59 pm Subeta time.
Questions and comments welcome!
I didn't see the banner GreenRowan.. can't wait to see.. and , there is a new thread at Subeta Lodge! :)
All the teams received full credit for the opening HAs, so you ALL get 500 points there. However on, the Hink Pinks, the judges gave many partials, and engaged in lively debate.
Here are the comments:
The "official" answers for the Hink-Pinks were:
Some of these were hotly debated, from the need for a third word (dietician in the spa) to the number of syllables (not set in stone for hink-pinks) to the color of amaranth (some actually are yellow, although the judge who submitted this thinks "jonquil" would have been a better choice). Another was a trip down memory lane to the third Ali/Frazier fight (Thrilla in Manila), and Frazier's reference as a "killa" in the ring. (Ali still won.) When they could, the judges gave you credit, even a partial for "Aurelian cerulean", which doesn't rhyme, but is really clever.
If you were given alternate or partial scores, they are listed for your teams:
Fallen Angels: 1250 1200 for 12 correct 50 for partial "Aurelian cerulean"
Galactic Thylacines: 1400
Leviathans: 1400 Buhl for crewel alternate--okay.
Organized Chaos: 1350 Lots of alternates accepted--"Exclusionary Apothecary," "Education Contemplation," "Cite Slight," "Invective Collective," "Conservation Contemplation," "Seeking Preaching" "Laundress Congress," and "Introduction Seduction" Three partials
Reaver: 0 for no submission. If you have one, please resend.
Squirrel Tales: 1300 "Lush flush" accepted
Steve: 1350 "Maui Owie" accepted
The Return of the Dazed Denizens of Crazy Delusional Chopped Jalapeno Legends: 700
Traveler: 1500
Congrats teams, awesome job! I gotta admit that I couldn't even think of one answer for any of the hink pinks.
RIP Mom, I love & miss you more than you know. Tell Dede hi.
Ocean Conservation Namibia on YouTube... they do good work! https://www.ocnamibia.org
I refreshed my butt off until it went by again. Here it is:

It links to Chapter 1 of WS6, so it's really recent.
Please tell us who you are---I just love it so much!
well done Steve. It was hard but looks like we got some partial credits :D
: WE partially ROCK!!
.. mouth drops open and had to blink a few times Congratulations guys!
(, I don't see any link in your post? Is that the picture you spoke of?)
WSers all rock big time!
RIP Mom, I love & miss you more than you know. Tell Dede hi.

GreenRowan I take it the one we got no credit for was 4? Not even partial for our attempt of vernacular Malakula spectacular? Alas if the judges didn't like it but I think it was a great try :)
Also, how is Amaranth a clue for yellow? We thought of that but ruled it out...
Congrats, Travelers! <3 Fantastic work, these were some difficult hink pinks!

Getting Malakula to rhyme with vernacular was too big a hurdle even for generous judges. As to amaranth, some are yellow and the grain is a yellowish color, but, as the note on the answers said, the judge reflected that "jonquil" would have been better. (They call it mellow yellow--that's right, Slick)
Yes, it's the banner, which does link to chapter 1 when you see it on site. I clicked through and got there. It's static because I just copied the image.
I love you guys too. Your answers were hilarious; wrong, but hilarious.
scorekeeper hat on
Congrats all the teams! Some of those were tricky! Scores all all up here WS6 - Team Rosters and Scoring If you spot any mistakes, then do let me know!
Apologies to those team captains who have mailed me, pinged me and I haven't acknowledged you. I think I have made all the changes to team rosters that you had asked. I just failed at replying to you - my humble apologies.
If for some reason, I haven't made the changes that you asked for, then this weekend will be a good time to shout at me make any more requests since I'm not doing 12 hours at work and then coming home to 3 small children causing havoc... 😌
I agree, jonquil or xanthan would have worked better for yellow, but man what a sly way of thinking. Amaranth, as a color, is red-purple. Tricksy judges~ Go for figuring we might as well since nothing else fit. <3
As a note, nutrition partition are three syllables, and dietician is four. I'm really glad you left that out.
I'm guessing the one we got partial credit for was , since we left out crewel. Diamond embroidery is a thing, and parcing matters.
And of course 15 we missed entirely.
Organized Chaos is amazing! I like Cite Slight especially. And wow, Travellers got 'em all? Man, way to go!
The way some people spell makes me wonder about their pronunciation. My CW shop, and my ping group
Congrats to all teams!! You guys really are the best of subeta!!
