heh. , i'd rather come out there to california! hahahaaaa
excuse me, while i grab a book as we slowly fall down the tunnel
(can't be in a library, without grabbing a book, or 3, or maybe 5)
ooooo, a cook book....OH!! look at this recipe....Beast with Pickled Peppers...
that group picture is so cute! :)
: Thanks Hon! Everybody should be in a group photo.
: LOL--slap fight-- HAR (goes all weasel war dance on Tea)
Come to Cali then! Eric and I went to Half Price Books today and bought more books, even though we don't need anymore haha. So, I know the feeling about getting more books lol.
Half Price Books is an absolute money trap.
The one in Berkeley especially. There's a bookstore in Santa Cruz that's also hazardous to my financial health but I don't get down there very often which is probably all for the best.
But if you come to San Francisco you have to come to our Borderlands Bookstore. Bonus, it's a couple of blocks away from my house. I don't go there when I don't have money though lol!

I'll go into any bookstore while on vacation lol. It's the pull of a new store, that isn't in Texas that does it! I'll the Borderlands sore on my places to see when not being a tourist :)
Love your group photo!! :O
LOL I wish i could take credit for asshat, but I'm borrowing it from , I'll smail you or fb message details about the great Southwestern Feline Migration

Hey y'all, sorry I've been MIA. Have had some very serious personal issues going on. The company my husband works, (worked?) for hasn't allowed Brandon back to work even though he passed his physical and drug screening, they are treating him like a liability. The medication he is taking for pain is being questioned by the corporate office, they are trying to find reasons to keep him from returning to work. They wanted his pain management doctor to sign some sort of waiver for him to return, but the way it is worded it leave his doctor liable and it is against her policy to sign such things. What is crazy is the fact that the medication he is on right now, is the EXACT same meds he has been on for pain for over 2 years. They hired him and let him work while taking this medication before with no issues. Now all of a sudden they want a doctor to sign off on it. It is the same dosage and taken at the same frequency as before the car accident even occurred. So I've been working odd jobs trying to keep us afloat the last week or so, well actually since the day we came back from camping (wish we wouldnt have taken that little trip, we were celebrating him passing all his required tests, it seems we celebrated too early. It's not a good situation, I'll try my best to keep in contact with you all but right now RL is having to come first. His lawyer told him until we get this stuff settled with the company he shouldn't try to get another job. So it's just a waiting game, meanwhile our kids are going without, we are going without, our animals are going without... luckily we have government assistance for food, that's about the only good thing that's happening in our life right now. Hopefully they will get this mess resolved this week so he can either go back to his old job or start searching for a new one.
will you pm me please?
I'm happy to help provide fun insults for all our friends :p
I love our group photo ❤️
I hope things start looking brighter for you my friend :(
gasp A chocolate martini?! Now this I need to see and taste test! Like for real. The last time I tried anything chocolate I wanted to kick myself because it was naaasty. It was supposed to be something like a chocolate covered strawberry flavored wine or something... I remember telling about it and we agreed that was not very appealing.
: Thanks for the compliment for the photo and the funny slap-fight picture. I spent an hour looking at cat and dog videos after that and had a lot of laughs.
Height-Ashbury is got a lot of charm and retains some of the flavor of the 60's, (The Corner, The Grateful Dead house), but its something you would have to really research in order to tease out a reason to spend time there, especially if you are on a limited time schedule(Aemoba Music for vintage vinyl LPs, Booksmith for used books, Coffee to the People for great coffee).
If you want to get an ethnic flavor for San Francisco, try dining at some of the different boroughs, like Chinatown, (Dol Ho or Great Eastern for dim sum) North Beach (Trattoria Contidina, Victoria Pastry), The Embarcadero (Waterbar for seafood), Mission District (Misión San Francisco de Asís, the oldest building in San Francisco, great dining like Cha Cha's and night life)
Of course, you'll want to see the other sites like the Golden Gate Bridge, the Cable Cars (prepare for long lines) Coit Tower, Lombard Street, Beach Blanket Babylon (hilarious), Golden Gate Park, The Planetarium, etc. But ultimately, practically anything you do in San Francisco is a treat, there is so much to see and do that you will never be bored or regret going there.
: Thanks Hon, I really like making group photos like that.
: Thanks, it's your group photo too! (giggle)
: Just hang in there dear, we are praying that it gets sorted and that you can join us as you can.
: I went back and re-labled the group photo so that we could keep everybody sorted. We have a big team of 9 persons.
I'm not fond of chocolate martini's or maybe the ones i had had too much alcohol in them
There are a lot of those pictures and gifs :D
Thanks for the places to go see and eat. I definitely need to write all of this down. We don't have set plans for a lot of the places we are going too. Sometimes it's not to have plans and just go.
Height-Ashbury was the birthplace of the Counter-Culture in the 60's...Sis, you have to go, you just have to, even if its just to walk where Jimi Hendrix walked or see what inspired Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg. You know you want to and you'll be in the City anyway
Thank you, Cousin Freddie, i was a very, very confused cat. We have 9? Mew!
Amiga, that's what i wuf about you, you're always a willing accomplice
Tea, I have wonderful news for you! Our Merlot is going to name Baby Merlot after both of us, if its a boy his name will be something, something Chat Whatsherface Merlot, if she's a girl it will be something, something Chat whatsherface Merlot...I know I was touched and I'm sure you are too
Why in the name of Cat would the attorney suggest not looking for a job if his company is being that slimey?

I told Eric what Frieda and you mentioned and it looks like we are already going to Height-Ashbury while we are there. I'm just excited to have a vacation!
DUDE you will not regret it! Height-Ashbury was awesome and oh my goodness...the book stores, Leilani! Get Emma a backpack, I found a sympathetic civil servant who is all about the rights of four legged family-for a price of course but I figured you would cover it and the passport

oh because if he goes back to work elsewhere that lets this company off the hook for the mess they have put us in. It's the biggest f***ing mess I've ever been a part of. The lawyer is sending him to a different doctor that has already looked over his paperwork and has agreed to meet with him and more than likely will sign the stupid paper they are wanting. After that they will have no reason to deny him coming back to work. He goes tomorrow morning, if things actually work out for a change he could end up going back to work tomorrow evening! So please y'all if you pray, send some up for our little family, we need it.
