It's a nice idea but please increase the rate at which we get something. I had a forum point. a gift box and a fairy for my first few posts but there's been nothing since then.

It's soul destroying making endless posts in the special junk topic with no result.

Received a fairy, but no point or box yet. I'm confident it'll happen eventually, since the boxes will go out for another week.

I mostly just dislike the kind of fake popularity of the forums. Yes, people who might not participate often can find a place to be chat, and maybe it encourages long term use... But damn is it annoying.

Well, off to go find some misc forums to post unsubstantial comments in.

I don't mind it, per se, but I agree that it feels a little forced, the interaction I mean. I do post on the pet forum sometimes, so that's not a problem. But when I post anywhere else, I sort of feel like I'm invading. I know that's just my perception, but anyway.

In all honesty, the most I use the forum for are in gifting threads because I like receiving gifts and the best way for that to happen is to give something back.

If you're uncomfortable with direct interaction on the forums the User Run Games sub is a good place as well as any daily forum where you just post what you get. There's not quite so much actual back and forth on those.

The free shop is much better because you get something every time.

A lot of people are just posting in the Junk topic so it doesn't lead to meaningful conversations in the forum. :D

I'm pretty sure we're still going to get the Free Shop as well, last year we got both.

I see this as just another little bonus you can get while posting, like the forum points already are. It's not really meant for people to go spamming trying to get the boxes, just post like you normally would and you can get a little something extra for doing it. I don't even remember the best thing I got from one of the boxes last year.

I wholeheartedly agree with the first poster about increasing the rates. Not to sound greedy or anything, but it’s a bit frustrating having both being given out by the same mechanism. Finding the gift boxes is fun, but it feels like the odds of finding one are stacked against me with the fairies being given out that way. So far I’ve only found one gift box. Don’t get me wrong, I love the idea of there being an extra incentive for posting I hope that we still have the free shop giveaway this year as well.

The post bonus is a fairy or a giftbox? That seems a little off. I figured it was either always both (which would explain the semi-low rate) or always a fairy with a chance to also get a giftbox.

I also agree with it feeling forced, but honestly meh on that so long as it's an extra thing and not the main method.

Yes - I feel like I got more boxes for the effort last year which I reallly liked. I am a sad (if slightly greedy) panda. 😞

EDIT Further thought, though the giftboxes are currently exciting I enjoy the forum points I've earned - swapping for raffle tickets, very nice. It's really just the faries. So many fairies. I don't need fairies (personally)... might go frag fairies...

Still waiting to see if the odds of getting something from posting increase or not. Either that or I have horrible luck! I may not be the most active user out there, but like others have said I distinctly remember getting more for my efforts last year. Overall, it feels forced and frustrating to either get a fairy or a gift box. As things stand the odds of finding a fairy or a gift box are simply far too high.

I will say it was at least good of them to make some general topics that people can post in. It helps people who might be kind of shy, since the topics are so general, you can go in and make your quick comment to try for a giftbox without feeling like you spammed.

I just checked. Since the release of the giftboxes I have made 70 posts and found 3 boxes.

No idea how many faires. I think 5 forum points. Wasn't keeping track though.

UPDATE 77 posts - got my 4th box finally :) ugh I'm done.

A ha ha ha! To me, this was just a cute ice-breaker no biggie. Forum Boxes are free, Snow Fairies are free, and the Free Shop is coming up right soon, so shrug

But now I'm super-amused, because an algorithm finds me insubstantial. :)

I'm now finding myself posting more in those stupid "HA Above Me threads".

But as for finding posts wth substantial discussion... right now there aren't many active ones on the forums.

Although for anyone else needing thread ideas I've been going to the Suggestions forum to suggest stuff.
