This lesson has an ESSAY QUESTION assignment.
Before grabbing the latest edition of Numerology and Grammatica, he turned towards the class with a bit of a grimace. “I take that back. Call me Kay. It feels too weird to be called Professor as if I was some old man.” Somewhere in the castle, Professor Norman must be sneezing. Book in hand, he walked back towards the front of the room and sat on his desk. "As some of you may already know, in Arithmancy letters are assigned numerical values and thus words are converted into numbers. Arithmancy can be used to predict the future, the most reliable method to do so in my opinion. Today we'll be going over our Destiny number, Soul Urge number, and Personality number. The Pythagorean Numerology Chart can be found on page 12 of your textbook."

Kay wrote his name and the values to each letter on the blackboard before continuing with his lecture. "The Destiny number, Soul Urge number, and Personality number are three of the five core numbers. We'll learn about the other two in a later lesson. In order to figure out the values of these numbers, we'll need to use our full birth names. The Destiny number, also referred to as the Expression number, is derived from our full name. It describes your innate abilities and symbolizes the type of person you are meant to be.” He added up the numbers in front of the class.

Erasing all the consonants in his name, he continued, “The Soul Urge number, also known as the Heart's Desire, defines your inner self. The Soul Urge number is derived from the vowels in your name. It describes your inner cravings, your likes, dislikes, and reveals the true intention behind your actions.”

Erasing the entire board this time, he started a new calculation of only the consonants of his name. "The Personality number describes how people first perceive you. Your Personality number is derived from the values of the consonants of your name. It is the you that you allow others to easily see before they actually get to know you.”

Kay placed the chalk down and clapped his hands. "Now it's your turn. Using your chart, calculate your Destiny, Soul Urge, and Personality numbers and tell me how well you think these numbers describe you."
Calculate your Destiny number, Soul Urge number, and Personality number. How do these numbers describe you? Do they fit you or do they not fit you? Do you agree with these numbers? If so, why? If not, why not?
You will need to show how you calculated at least one of your numbers (doesn't matter which one) in order to be able to receive full credit for this assignment.

Once the Professor cleans his desk and starts talking, Ezekiel blushes over how handsome the Professor is. Arithmancy wasn't his favorite class, but now it might be. As Professor Kay ends the lesson, he focus on the piece of parchment in his desk and tries to hide the blush and to write a decent essay.
[li] one- The Destiny number
According to the text book, my Destiny Number, which is 5, means "A dynamic force:
Energetic, adventurous, daring and freedom-loving. Versatile, flexible, adaptable, curious, social, sensual, quick-thinking, witty"
It is very interesting how this simple process could end in countless results, but actually end up in a results that fits my personality in parts. I do consider myself dynamic; very energetic, adventurous and freedom-loving too. I try to be versatile and adaptable to achieve my goals, and I'm a curious cat from born. My social skills are very... unusual, I am not the best at conversations or at flirting, but are matters of my interest.
To end this topic, I'd say this described what makes me a Hufflepuff, and even the bits that don't fit me aren't 100% misguided. [li] two- The Soul Urge number
Again my results are surprisingly accurate. With my Soul Urge number being 3, I got this description from the book: "The creative child: Imaginative, expressive communicators and artists. Tolerant, joyful, optimistic, inspiring, talented, jovial, youthful.
I love being creative, between classes I can de found sitting in the corridors writing magical stories or doodling in the back of a old piece of parchment - maybe in the walls too. As for the tolerant, joyful and jovial parts, again those are things that I try to be, I try to work myself in the Hufflepuff fundamentals that aren't much different from that. Talented and optimistic - I guess these are for other people to tell. [li] three- The Personality number
The number 11 means "The Intuitive: Sensitive, aware, intuitive, psychic, gentle, cooperative, peace maker, musical talent"
From 3 of the number techniques I find this one the most inaccurate and, at the same time, hard to judge.
I know I don't have any musical talent, but if this is the first impression people get of me I am very happy as I always try to be gentle and cooperative, trying to find a way that will pleasure everyone in a difficult time. In conclusion, this was a very interesting essay to write, I found out a lot about myself thinking with the results, which in it's majority are on point.Name Numerology

Jona groaned. He hated anything that involved having to write out his entire name...
JONA FLETCH / HUFFLEPUFF

My destiny (aka. expression) is 1: natural leader; independent; individualistic; extremely ambitious; original; courageous; an explorer; an innovator; self-reliant; confident; energetic; front-runner; pioneer; warrior; risk-taker; daredevil. It states that I am open to too many peripheral influences limits and frustrates you.
My soul urge (aka. heart's desire) is 4: stable; well-organized; orderly; systematic; maintain routine; thorough; detail-oriented; practical; analytical,; logical; dependable; disciplined; over-achiever; workaholic; good parent; structural; rigid; stubborn; honest; unpretentious; detest liars and affectations; determined; tenacious.
My (outer) personality is 6: understanding; compassionate; warm; fair; inspire confidence; fine sense of justice; keep harmony; willing to sacrifice desires for others; martyr; not always a very good judge of character; hospitable; domestic; good parent; romantic; faithful; protective; artistic; love music, flowers and gardening; excellent sense of color and taste; concerned with the content of your personality; exceedingly generous; not particularly financially logical; vulnerable to praise and criticism; maternal/paternal figure.
Analysis I've always been noticeably independent in my decisions, but I think that was always more out of necessity, rather than choice. The description said that I have the potential to be someone, like a politician, who would influence many people's opinions, but I don't want that. The way I see it, that is taking advantage of your own ability to empathize with other's by manipulating how you make them feel in order to benefit your own agenda. One thing that it states that I disagree with is that the reading proclaims I am "strong" and "have perseverance," but the way I see it, I am just lucky. It also states: "People tend to be inspired or repelled by your strong personality." And, that's probably not wrong.
On the other hand it claims I have great "power of concentration" - totally wrong. Pretty sure my mom told me that I was clinically diagnosed with ADD once. Or, maybe she was just saying that to get me to stop talking. Also, it says I am highly critical of other which I definitely do not agree with. The last thing I ever want - or try - to do is judge someone for their choices. It's not like we're all perfect. We make mistakes and we deserve second or third or fourth chances. Well, most of us, anyway.
The following quote hit a little too close to home. Made me uncomfortable: "You easily assume the role of protector. You spring into action when leadership is needed." I don't really want to get too into that, though. My first and third numbers seems to contradict with my middle number. My destiny number said I was independent and free and flexible, whereas my soul urge claims I am structural (hah!) and organized (hah!) and disciplined (HAH!). Clearly, I feel more in tune with me destiny and personality number description than I do with my urge number. Weirdly enough, my soul urge and personality both claim I'd be a "good parent" - whatever that means. I feel like it's so easy to be a bad parent; what does a good one even look like?
All in all, what I got from this analysis is that I am independent enough to handle my own problems and I am also so protective and sympathetic that I also try to help other people with all of their problems.
I suddenly feel exhausted at the thought of all the problems I am burdened with right now.
...Maybe I should be excused from the next few written assignments?
Destiny Number = 3
Imaginative, expressive communicators and artists.
Tolerant, joyful, optimistic, inspiring, talented, jovial, youthful.
Soul Urge Number = 6
Your attention is directed to helping and caring for those you love. You are extremely loyal and rarely let anyone down. You are patient, warm, and sympathetic, sometimes to the point of sentimentality. Your deepest intention is to love those around you, and be loved in return.
Personality Number = 6
You radiate understanding and compassion. You have a fine sense of justice. You are not particularly logical when it comes to finances. You are very vulnerable to praise and criticism. You tend to worry a lot.
I find it fascinating that my Soul Urge Number is a 6 considering my dream of caring for magical creatures (specifically dragons and dragonlings) post-graduation. This gives me hope that I am indeed on the right path in my studies and in life. As for my Destiny Number (3), I do consider myself to be a rather positive person. I try my best to bring happiness and laughter to others, and I deeply care about my friends, my family, and my studies.
In terms of my Personality Number (6), I feel as though it is a bit of a hit and miss. I genuinely hope that I radiate understanding and compassion, but I try not to worry so often. To worry about something is to dwell on negativity. I try instead to keep positive and maintain cheerful thoughts (even though it is difficult at times).
This exercise was very enlightening and made me consider things that I hadn't necessarily thought of before. Overall, I feel as though these numbers are a relatively good representation of me. I hope to continue to grow as both a person and a wizard.
Magnus' hand rose in the air. "Er, sir," the boy said hesitantly, "What if we don't know our birth names? See I was found as a baby abandoned in a pram. They think my name was Magnus but they ain't sure of my last name so I got the orphanage's last name which was Saint John, and then I were adopted by the Lee's. And don't know if I 'ad a middle name either."
"No need to call me sir, Kay is just fine!" Kay tapped his fingers on the desk as he organized his thoughts before answering the question.
"Good question! I believe that you were destined to not know your original name. The reasoning could be that the second name you were given parallels your original name. In Numerology, we use our full birth name as there is a belief that our parents' intuition lets them know the name we are destined to have. So when we are named for the first time our destiny is determined. Nicknames and name changes do carry a vibrational change as they do impact your growth and development, but they are not a replacement for your original name. Your birth name is your foundation and each name change represents a new layer on top of the foundation. Each layer may emphasize different traits about yourself, but the foundation, your true self, is still present. Your true self never changes as it was always there."
"For this assignment, I would use your adopted name. Although your original name would provide the most accurate reading, the calculations from your adopted name can be used to describe you as you are at the present moment."

Magnus Saint John Lee 4+ 1 +7 + 5+ 3+ 1+ 1+ 1+ 9+ 5+ 2+ 1+ 6+ 8+ 5+ 3+ 5+ 5 = 72= 7+2=9
My destiny number is 9: Helpful, compassionate, aristocratic, sophisticated, charitable, generous, humanitarian, self-sufficient, proud, self-sacrificing.
Personally I don't think I'm particularly humanitarian. I'd like to make the world a bit fairer for werewolves but that's more selfish than anything--given I am one. I do agree I try to be helpful to others. I won't let someone sit and cry and not try to help. I do want to become a healer and help those who are hurt by werewolves and other creatures. The healers of Saint Mungo saved my life. It would be gratifying to help others. I am self-sufficient. I grew up an orphan and roamed the streets of London on my own. But I ain't no aristocrat. I'm a street-rat and proud of it. I don't want to live on high, happy with just a few things. Overall I would say this number mostly does suit me.
My soul number is 3: generally happy, friendly, and outgoing--gift for gab. Witty, creative, and playful. Has difficulty expressing your deeper feelings. Has potential for artistic expression
I think this is spot on. I do love a good time and I think I'm a pretty happy person most of the time. I have a good deal of friends and do quite enjoy being the spotlight. I love puns and drawing or painting and playing with my friends or pets. I admit, I'd rather not tell others about some of the deeper things I feel. Like on the full moon, I'm more prone to anger, more inner turmoil. I see what it does to others so I'd rather not tell anyone I'm going through something. Best to try to keep calm and carry on as they say.
My personality number is 6: understanding and compassionate, generous, fine sense of justice. You are romantic, faithful and very protective. You are artistic. You love music, flowers and gardening. You are a natural interior designer. You have an excellent sense of color and taste.
I think I am understanding and compassionate. I guess maybe generous though I'm not sure. I don't know about the justice thing though. Maybe? I mean I don't like people being pushed around and believe in Karma. I do think I'm faithful and protective. Definitely am artistic. I love herbology, its one of my favourite classes and I hope I have a good sense of colour since I'm an artist. over all I think this is quite spot on.
The numberoscope by Lysandra from Ravenclaw
Lysandra whipped out a pencil and a notebook and began calculating, not her favorite pastime yet one which provided no problem for her.
Her destiny number was to combine her full name Lysandra Linrethil = 3+7+1+1+5+4+9+1 = 31 = 3 + 1 = 4 and 3+9+5+9+5+2+8+9+3 =53 = 5 + 3 = 8 to 4 + 8 = 12 = 1 + 2 = 3 destiny number / expression number. Second, her soul Urge number out of the name vowels = 1 + 1 = 2 and 9 + 5 + 9 = 23 = 2 + 3 = 5 total 2 + 5 = 7 heart´s desire number, inner cravings, likes/dislikes. Last, her personality number out of the consonantes= 3+7+1+5+4+9 = 29 = 2 + 9 = 11 = 1 + 1= 2 and 3+5+9+2+8+3 =30 = 3 + 0 = 3 in total 2 + 3 = 5.
She was done in a blink, eying her findings. That should be she in nutshell? 3 -7- 5 ? Tentatively, she tested the sound of the numbers, then settled down for the essay on the topic. She felt her cat Frida nudging her through their bond of feelings, encouraging. Okay, she thought, let´s find out what the single numbers mean.
NUMEROLOGY ESSAY
My desitiny number is 3. Keywords for this number are optimism, inspiration, expression, outgoing character, creativity and self-expression. I think I am creative when it comes to leisure activities like silk painting and fashion-related ideas, yet for the other personality traits if I would have them, I probably wouldn´t be here in school at all. If this science proves correct it means that these essences are slumbering inside me, waiting to be awakend. That would be exciting! These positive features would be so helpful to accomplish my defined goal to find my elven energy and wield it. So my destiny number ignites a spark of hope in me even when the character traits are not the ones which have surfaced so far.
My soul urge number is 7. My heart´s desires, I know them well. Knowledge, study, insight, like depicted in the interpretation texts. The joy of mental and physical puzzles, the contentment of studying for hours, deep in the mysteries of life. No feelings bubbling to the outside, always serene and balanced, that was what I was told by my relatives. Trust was always difficult to me, a trait I had to work very hard for. Scientific facts, that is what counts. Yes, that is me, to the core. There is nothing left to be added.
My personality number is 5. How would people perceive my character? Charisma, wit, social activites are the headlines shown in the texts. No, I am always shy at first, I need my time to find friends, to bloom. Freedom, nervous energy - these keywords are accurate and one of the reasons I am in Hogwards right now, to gain control over these energies and put them to a positive use. Addictive to food or drugs, no, they are not important to me. To clothes, yes. Elf progeny always is a bit vain, I know that.
Conclusion: Half of the interpretations in the books seem to be right, the other half wrong or my character is still in development and the traits explained there are hidden deep inside me. That has still to be seen and waited for.
After I engaged myself in cunsulting many other books about numerology, I also found out that the number 375 in total is considered as a message that the major life choices and changes one has choosen are considered to be the right ones. I am not completely sure about this yet some of the interpretion texts had very good points there. Perhaps, I should look at numerology like I would read a horoscope. It also shows possibilities and development potentialities. I know that I am building my reality myself and that I can change that reality every time. This knowledge brings freedom.

(( - OOC - do we have to make a chalkboard image? And is it needed to actually calculate the numbers in written form or is using the calculator you've provided enough? ))
Merlin Pendragon, Slytherin
Merlin listened to the class and wasn't very excited about the numbers but did as the professor said. He first calculated his Destiny number by using his entire name. M E R L I N --------------- P E N D R A G O N 4 5 9 3 9 5---------------- 7 5 5 4 9 1 7 6 5 =35 = 3+5=8-----------------=49 = 4+9=13=1+3= 4 8+4=12=1+2=3 Destiny Number= 3
Merlin then proceed to calculate the Soul Urge number by using only vowels of his name which left him with the following letters:
E I---------------------------E A O 5 +9--------------------------5 + 1 + 6 =14 = 1+4 =5---------------=12 = 1+ 2= 3 5+3 = 8 Soul Urge = 8
Lastly he calculated the personality number removing the vowels of his name.
M R L N----------------P N D R G N 4 + 9 + 3 + 5--------------7 + 5 + 4 + 9 +7 + 5 =21 = 2+1=3--------------=37 = 3+7 = 10 = 1+0 = 1 3+1= 4 Personality number = 4
According to the text, a destiny number 3 is a creative child, someone expressive, imaginative, tolerant, joyful, youthful, and optimistic which I believe describe myself quite well. The things I do not agreed with are that they are artists and can be writers because I honestly don't see those talents in me. I also do not agree when it says I have no discipline because I consider myself very strict and with a lot of discipline despite my excessive cheerfulness.
The reading of the Soul Urge number 8 reads that I am a very ambitious person with big dreams who desires a lot of power, make big projects and think large which I agree with. I definitely do not agree with this sentences: "You need to cultivate courage and stamina. Courage is a choice. You need to decide to be brave in the face of fear." The reason is because I consider myself a brave man and have demonstrated it in many occasions, so no, I possess a lot of courage already so it doesn't apply to me.
For the last reading, the personality number was 4 in which states that I am reliable and people feel safe with me, trust me. It also says I'm a family person which I truly am and love protecting those I love. I actually quite agree with this reading for most of it, even when it says I use earth colors to dress with.
My name is Callista Melina Zabini. My destiny number is 3, which suits me very well, as it represents artistry and creativity, and I would like to become a fashion designer. It's also probably true that I get scattered a lot. I also love animals and would probably like being a naturalist, and it's also true that I'd be terrible with money if I hadn't been born with more than my share of it. It's very true that I am social and do not do well on my own, and need to learn to work with other people more.

My personality number is also 3, and that seems to fit me as well, particularly the part where I love fashion and fine things. I can't speak to whether I fall in and out of love too quickly because I have never been in love. I'm only 16! I also don't feel that I can speak to whether or not I am beautiful, so I will just say that people do seem to like me. Perhaps it is true that I scatter myself socially. I would really like to not only be friends with everyone, but also to see everyone be friends. It might be a bit much to put on something like this, but I can't help thinking that focusing so much on the differences between us is what fosters the worst parts of our wizarding history and that it would be better to learn to appreciate what's good and beautiful no matter where it comes from. I do feel more qualified to comment on aesthetics than ethics though, if only because ethics seem to vary so much and not all of them seem to be practically useful? But aesthetics, though they may seem trivial, have the power to uplift us in our every day lives.
What really foxed me was learning that my Soul Urge Number is 9.
"You want to be of service to the world. Your deepest satisfaction comes from knowing that you have advanced the cause of humanity. Your ideals are of the highest order. You are a perfectionist. You strive to make the world a utopia; to make each person's lot in life better; to become perfect yourself. One of your challenges in life is to strive toward your lofty goals and at the same time recognize the good you are doing. You like and are fascinated by people from all walks of life. Human nature is a lifelong study for you. You are highly intuitive, but not an especially good judge of character. You are a bit naive, as well, thinking perhaps that all people have the same values as you. You dream of having the resources to immediately relieve the suffering of others, whether it is economic, physical, or psychological. You are gifted with a good mind and a great deal of wisdom, which makes you a natural teacher, counselor, or healer.
As much as you desire to be of service to others, you also crave fame and the approval of the masses. Much of the energy you expend in life is directed toward putting yourself before an audience, most often as a salesperson whose product provides some social good; as a philanthropist; or an artist. You are attracted to the arts as a vocation, especially as an actor, photographer, or writer. But whatever your profession, any involvement in the arts, even as a hobby, will provide you with a deep and lasting satisfaction. Secretly, you dream of having a big impact on the world. Others may see this as egotism, especially when you are still young. But your concern for others is genuine. You must apply yourself in this direction in order to become psychologically whole and personally satisfied. Your vision is on the crowds of people, which can cause you to overlook the needs of those closest to you. You need personal love as well, but have a tendency to put your needs in the background. Still, you are a loving person, and only need to be reminded to direct and demonstrate that love to those nearby. If, however, you are focused exclusively on the masses, people will perceive you as distant and a bit aloof.
You are emotional, and sensitive. You can also be moody and critical. You have high expectations for yourself and others. This can cause you much anger when your expectations are unfulfilled. One of your most important life lessons is to forgive. Because you are striving hard to attain high ideals, you may think of yourself as superior to others. Arrogance is a trap many 9s fall into. The danger is that arrogance cuts you off from the thing you love the most: people. Your happiness and contentment are therefore highly dependant on the ease with which you are able to serve and influence mankind. It is the paradox of your Heart's Desire that you receive by giving. Both your material success and spiritual satisfaction are made possible through service and sacrifice to others."
I've never really thought of myself as a do-gooder. I mean, realistically, I spend most of my time thinking about clothing and cats. But I guess this might be true. I'm always trying to stop people from fighting and explain to people on different sides of an argument where the other one's coming from. I'm always thinking about how to spread the best things from every part of the world throughout society. It's just...I really wouldn't like, for instance, to work in a hospital. But I do want the world to be a happier, brighter place. Happy people don't want to do terrible things or hurt one another, and filling your environment with lovely things makes people want to respect it more and be good to each other. Can you uplift the world through artistry? I guess that's what I would do, if I could.
Fade let out an audible groan, but quickly swallowed the sound and acted like he hadn’t made one. He wanted to like the young Professor, but anything to do with numbers made his stomach ache. Not to mention writing out his full name where anyone could read it. Gripping his quill he begrudgingly began to scrawl his name, very small at the top of his parchment.

I can’t say that I love change, but I can adapt to it pretty quickly. Maybe because we moved around so much when I was younger. Having the freedom to do what I want is very important to me. More so, the freedom to express my abilities without being made fun of. I guess I agree with pretty much everything the number five represents with the exception of sensuality. Don’t consider myself sociable, but maybe my friends would argue against that. No doubt I’m adventurous, and find myself in trouble thanks to it. Maybe next time I can refer to this class for a free pass as to why I’m in trouble…

Perfectionism is a huge part of who I am. Didn’t want to admit it to myself for a long time, but it comes with the artistic territory I guess. Outside approval is also critical, although I struggle to share my art with most people because it is never quite good enough, or finished. Even if I never intend to add any more to it. Making other people happy, or being able to alleviate their woes however possible also resonates with me. If I could I would make it so my friends and family were only ever happy and comfortable. I will put my own needs aside to help those around me. And I can be critical in regards to myself and my own performance. All in all I agree with most of the the Number Nine represents. Keeping in mind I should guard against arrogance, and maybe focus a little more on myself than others from time to time.

The number five is said to be charismatic, witty, upbeat and optimistic. There was a bit about having nervous energy and I couldn’t agree more. Not so sure how charismatic I am, and positive thinking isn’t the easiest but I guess I am more optimistic than pessimistic now-a-days. Five also tends to be a bit of an addictive personality, and I can’t argue because I love coffee and drawing to the point that I forget to eat. Didn’t know other people could perceive me as superficial, and I really hope that isn’t the case. The only thing I disagree with would be the sensuality aspect of this number. However, maybe when I’m older these things will come to fruition. Although I hope not because it all sounds uncomfortable and gross. Dropping his quill and pushing the parchment away, Fade looked toward one of the windows and wished he was outside rather than stuffed in here with his full name glaring at him from the page on his desk. All this personal information was something he didn’t particularly want to share with anyone, but a grade was a grade. He would just have to be sure to toss it into the fire once it was marked and returned to him.

6+7 = 13 = 1 + 3 = 4 The salt of the earth: Disciplined, strong, stable, pragmatic, down-to-earth, reliable, dependable, hard-working, frugal.
I was surprised to see that this describes me exactly. I have always been very disciplined in my nature -- looking at things in a very systematic way, and always working incredible hard towards the things I want. I definitely view myself as down-to-earth and find that I am very reliable for my friends and family. The only portion that may not be as true is the frugal portion -- I do like the simple things in life and may be a little frugal when it comes to myself, but I am the opposite when it comes to friends and family, I always like to spend money on others...just not myself!
The Soul Urge Number: E I E 5 9 5 =19=1 + 9 = 10 = 1 + 0 = 1 I I 9 9 =18=1 + 8 = 9
1+9 = 10 = 1 + 0 = 1 Determined and Goal Oriented: Your overpowering need is to be independent and to direct your own life according to what you believe. You possess intelligence and wit. Whenever you commit to something you truly love, you are absolutely tenacious in your ability to endure difficulties and overcome obstacles. You are the pioneer and the ground-breaker.
The inner self that this revealed was somewhat surprising. I am definitely independent, and I think that is largely due to the freedom my parents gave me as a child while growing up. I definitely have tenacity when working on things I love, sometimes though it can be too much and I often get lost in the things I am working on and become somewhat of a recluse. I am not really sure how much of a ground-breaker I am, though I do pride myself on my intelligence and enjoy studying new things!
The Personality Number: L L 3 3 =6 W L D N G 5--3--4--5--7 =24=2 + 4 = 6
6 + 6=12= 1 + 2 = 3 You are highly attractive. Your vibration is full of life. You are uplifting, inspiring, and charming. You are a fun person to be around. Your wit and sparkling personality make you the life of a party. You are extroverted and optimistic. You have a distinct "lucky streak" that attracts many opportunities throughout your life.
Not all of this applies to me. I do not think I should judge my own attractiveness, I will let others do that, ha! I can say that I am full of life and optimism and I enjoy being around other people, but I do not think I am always extroverted, as I can become quite a recluse at times. I don't know about the lucky streak either, I cant think of many lucky opportunities that have popped up in my life, but I am only 15 so, perhaps they are on the way!

Destiny: 3 + 2 = 5 "A dynamic force" isn't something that I would normally describe myself as, but reading some of the key characteristics, I'm surprised at how much I can relate to. A free-spirit, I do crave freedom (I'm a Sagittarius, which explains it all, really!). I'm a quick thinker, and clever, but my thought process is scattered: I'm terrible at potions because you need to be pretty organised and follow specific instructions, which I'm not so good at.
Soul/Urge: 1 + 1 + 9 + 5 + 9 = 25 = 2 + 5 = 7 My Heart's Desire is something I've not really delved too deeply into. My number is 7, which claims that in relationships, I tend to keep things business-like and impersonal and that my inability to fully understand the emotional aspect of life is my Achilles heel. I can't agree with this sentiment, as I'm capricious and susceptible to bouts of fleeting emotions. Whilst my rational nature might let me understand the unpredictability of the heart, that doesn't mean I fear it. I'm told that in order to grow, I should share myself with others without compromising my independence and need for privacy: I can't help but wonder that is this not good advice to be taken by all of us?
Personality: 5 + 2 + 8 + 5 + 3 + 7 + 2 + 2 = 34 = 3 + 4 = 7 "You seem mysterious and different. You are hard to get to know. You are often withdrawn." I hope that this is not how people truly see me! I'm not hard to get to know, and I'm certainly not withdrawn. This I cannot accept as an aspect of my person.
However true it is that "your confidence increases when you know you are well dressed," I again feel that this applies to all of us, not just those of us with the number 7. "Your love of knowledge and wisdom" has repeatedly appeared across all my numerology results. Perhaps this is a facet of myself I have not yet recognised. I'll be sure to reflect on my results further, though I'm not sure how much accuracy I will credit to the process.

Destiney 6- The caretaker "Responsible, loving, self-sacrificing, protective, sympathetic and compassionate. Loyal, maternal, idealistic healers or teachers" "You have a natural gift with flowers, gardens, and animals."
Of all that I read regarding number 6, I find these the most fitting in my life. In the way that utilizing Responsible, loving, compassionate, Loyal and maternal with a natural gift with animals fits with what I see for myself career wise moving forwards.
Soul 4 "You like to live a stable, well organized life. You dislike sudden changes. You prefer orderliness in all things." "Work is central to your life, but you may have a tendency to overdo it; you can easily become a workaholic if you're not careful. "
This I find compliments well with the Destiny number. I find it is why i tend to over think and over analyze things. I can see how I get stressed when things change and I find that I overreact when a sudden change occurs.
Personality 2 "You appear friendly and unpretentious. You have a soft and warm exterior. Others perceive you as gentle, safe harbor." "You are very patient and understanding, and a wonderful listener."
While I believe these things to be true of my personality I have noticed that it opens me up to be taken advantage of based on another aspect of my personality,
"You have experienced quite a bit of negative criticism as a child, which made you shy growing up. Though you may be well past that shyness, a bit of the vulnerability has remained with you and is often sensed by others."
In that I may be seen to be weak and easily taken advantage of due the shy vulnerability of my past.
Over all I found this experience to be quite remarkable in that Math, in a way, was useful in identifying things about my personality that I already knew but gave me a better understanding of the whys and hows. It also showed me things that I need to look out for so I don't end up sabotaging any areas of my life.

As I encountered the master numbers I did not reduce them, as directed in the arithmancy lesson in the textbook. Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed that my final result did not include a master number of 22 or 33 but I am pleased that they did show up at all. A Destiny Number (DN) of 4 describes a strong, nurturing, wise, stable person of integrity. This person would work hard for what they desire and are very resilient to tribulations and setbacks. This person is spontaneous and yet loves order and the framework of set structure. This describes me quite well though it misses out on a lot of life value lessons learned while in youth that have shaped my personality. Overall these do fit with my bubbly and caring personality. Thy also highlight my distrust of certain constructs within society., something I am not sure if I desire to change. The Soul Urge Number (SUN) of 6 describes someone who is patient, sympathetic and quick to empathize with others, making me an excellent listener. It also describes someone who excels in the arts, this is true as art of any form brings me immense pleasure. The number 6 is one of the most loving numbers and describes a person of high integrity and immense capacity for love, forgiveness, and generosity. I believe this triad describes me perfectly, which is quite surprising to me. I really did not expect this to be my number but it really does sound so much like me that it is almost shocking. A Personality Number (PN) of 7 describes someone who is antithetically different from a SUN of 6, yet I examined it to see if I fit within this number at all. The PN 7 describes someone who is not known for warmth due to their serious and studious nature. It details the attributes of someone who is reserved and difficult to get to know. I am none of these things with the exception that I study enough to pass me OWLs. Overall the study of arithmancy is not my forte as I do not possess a strong inner eye for sight. I also do not put much stock in the real of numerology because I prefer to work with potions or charms in the defense of the dark arts class. That was my bias coming into this class but over the course of the term I have begun to realize there might be something meaningful within arithmancy after all. Thus, I was pleased and surprised top see that my DN and SUN matched up so perfectly with my personality.

I really really extremely want:Hollynd loved numbers and painstakingly showed the work for her mathematical calculations. Though she enjoyed Arithmancy tremendously, she was skeptical about Numerology. It wouldn't do to let such flights of fancy get to her head. The new, young, and very casual professor was a treat though. She could totally try using personal pronouns and contractions in her first assignment for his class.

HOLLYND: 8 + 6 + 3 + 3 + 7 + 5 + 4 = 36; 3 + 6 = 9
ATWOOD: 1 + 2 + 5 + 6 + 6 + 4 = 24; 2 + 4 = 6
Destiny 6 + 9 = 15; 1 + 5 = 6 I’m initially quite pleased to learn that my Destiny, or Expression, number is "the most balanced of all numbers." The number 6 stands for the caretaker. Its positive traits are compassion, sympathy, protection, self-sacrifice, love, and responsibility. Sixes are idealistic, maternal, and loyal and are thusly suited to be teachers or healers. Though I appreciate the flattery and do agree with some of the descriptors, I'm unsure as to whether or not I truly believe in Name Numerology. Truthfully, the profile seems vague and general enough to apply to anyone.
Soul Urge 6 + 1 + 6 + 6 = 19; 1 + 9 = 10; 1 + 0 =1 My Soul Urge, or Heart's Desire, is a 1. Ones are "determined and goal oriented." People who find a number 1 in this part of their charts are independent, confident, intelligent, individualistic, domineering, responsible, driven, and ambitious. I wouldn't say I disagree with many of the statements that are made about ones, but they're also very appropriate for members of Slytherin House.
Personality 8 + 3 + 3 + 7 + 5 + 4 + 2 + 5 + 4 = 41; 4 + 1 = 5 My Personality number is a 5. The overarching traits of my personality according to this number are charisma and hedonism, I'm admittedly prone to self-indulgence, but haven't been social enough at Hogwarts (or anywhere really) to be properly dubbed as a charismatic individual. I do enjoy adventure and the sensual gratifications of life, but are there actually people who don't? The most fault lies in this passage: "You have a strong and attractive body, with good muscle tone. Your movements are supple, graceful, and athletic." Though I'm correctly accused of such attributes, it's from earning my physique through diet and exercise, and most definitely not because I was born with a specific number from my name.
