Will keep you and yours in my prayers.
We're alright!
We live in the Lower Mainland area, so were pretty far from the action...
I really hope your parents are away from the midst of it. I saw some of the pictures and it looked really awful.

like mentioned, we're doing ok!! yesterday was super windy and today's a bit more humid and stuffy but i'm not sure if it has anything to do with the fires since the weather over here is like this all the time during the hotter months ;o ;;"
i hope your family stays safe and healthy through all this and that the weather calms down to help the situation. β€οΈ
thank you everyone for the kind words and concern. not too much has changed but the fires are still growing and 0% contained, my parents and sister are gonna wait until they are told to leave. :/

Interestingly enough, the skies look pretty much like how they usually do.
It is wildly windy for some reason but the air quality is still alright in our area.
Any updates for your family?

my hometown was evacuated last night at 9:12. sister-in-law got out with all her pets. my parents and sister live half hour out and are still waiting to be told to leave instead of just leaving. most of the surrounding highways are closed except to leave.

I live in Fort McMurray. My aunt and cousins live in Williams Lake (tiny place, less than 11,000 people) It's horrifying to see them living through the same nightmare we did. Thankfully, they've had a bit more warning and were able to take their time and pack all of their irreplaceable items before evacuating last night.
The whole thing is just awful. I'm in Alberta, but we had a cabin near William's Lake, and were there quite frequently, in addition to just travelling through a lot of central BC. It's so scary to think of all this happening... hopefully they manage to get somewhat of a rein on it soon.
How was your house during all that? Hopefully nothing happened to yours, or anyone's you know. I remember watching all the footage from that insane fire and I just can't even imagine...
oh my, hope you didn't lose your house last year :O i am from 100 mile area and have family all over the Cariboo. i now live in Valleyview Alberta and hate not being there with my family.. but I have two little ones holding me back.
i live in alberta too, Valleyview to be. i am from 100 Mile area and have family all over the cariboo. due to all the road closures being a traveler would be a pain. the Gustafsen fire near 100 Mile is now 20% contained, was 15% yesterday. they are looking at more dry weather and winds in the forecast.

Our place suffered some smoke damage, but it was fine. Three of my friends lost their homes, along with my uncle and aunt.
Ahhh hope they make it out safe!! :o I've friends back there because I lived in BC for 4ish years... hope they're safe as well! Although they live in the Vancouver regions I heard the AQ is pretty bad up there too D:
oh my that sucks, i couldn't imagine losing a home. how is the rebuilding of fort mac going? i know they have been donating several large donations the evacuees of the fires going on.
so far my parents and sister are still okay where they are and they have slowly gotten some containment of the fire near 100 Mile (20%) but the two in Little Fort are not. yes, i do believe Vancouver is far enough away from it all but smoke sure does travel. we have been getting smoke even and we're in Alberta through the mountains.
