oh boy!! Hard to believe xDD Smoke can rise up so high and travel so far!! I'm not exactly sure where the fires are loool.. I didn't look at the map so I'm not sure how far Vancouver is from there but yea even though there's smoke it's wet there so should be safe :) Glad to hear your parents and sis are safe!! :)

i'm not sure really.. i haven't been to Vancouver since i was a kid xD yes but they are looking for lighting storms and high winds come tomorrow

ahh!! Our storms traveled to there XD last night t'was t-storming hard and we were having a gale

the lightning storms are how the majority of fires started and the winds made the fire burn fast

right! :( BC have been brutal this year :( During the winter it has been too cold and too much snow, and now, wildfires :/

actually it has been warmer then usual and not near the snow like when i was a kid. i think they were lucky to get a couple feet this winter.. at least it wasn't much and they had flooding earlier in the year. the weather just can't just get a happy medium.

it's nothing compared to when i was a kid. it was a lot of ice as it gets warm and melts and then freezes over night and then snows a layer over that. it has been brutal. also, i think Vancouver had more then usual for snow but the interior nothing like we used to.. we used to get 16 feet or more.

during my 4 years of staying there yea there's been ice and snow..sometimes it is warmer and rains lol

For people not in the potential disaster zone this is a great time to take a look at building a go kit for you and your pets (if you have pets). Also, if you are wanting to help please consider money over goods unless a particular department has a specific wishlist, or donating time. Both human and animal ESS will likely be needing extra help. Teams are often small, groups are underfunded, and will likely be doing convergent training to fill their needs.

Rebuilding is going very, very slowly. My uncle probably won't have his place built until sometime next year. But they made it out with their pets alive, which is more than a lot of people can say. So many pets were lost because by the time the evacuation notice was given, police had blocked access to homes in Abasand and Beacon Hill. Heard about William's Lake this morning.. hope everyone there is okay :(

yes, there is lots of need for volunteers and donations at this time.

yes, Williams Lake was evacuated last night, luckily 70% had already left but with 12,ooo in and 12,ooo in surrounding areas.. there was still a fair amount to be evaluated. Mayor has said everything went smoothly.

I don't think you can post links for donations and stuff. I know you definitely can't with Go Fund Me.

I live in Ontario and it's absolutely horrible about the fires raging in BC. I hope everyone stays safe.
