Hello everyone!
I have recently been mulling a lot of the way CW's work in general and the atmosphere and sometimes the general unease created with different rules and faux pas associated with various things.
As a general rule, I have always asked not to be taken advantage of. This isn't an ungodly request, by any means, but I have also been thinking that I probably cause a lot of my own upset based on this.
So what I'm wondering, and asking of you all, is do you think I should just release things and let people do with them what they will? Including high price tag resales or use for trades? Do you find it valuable that I ask for people to only resell for slot or thereabouts? How do you feel about the slot raffles I did? Do you have any suggestions for me on how to improve?
It's a hard thing for me, at times, to be a releaser on Subeta. I like to release things people will enjoy, but also get myself bent out of shape when my generosity or releases are taken advantage of. I'd like to get rid of some of that stress.
Feel free to ping others here, if you find they might be an important part of the discussion. Please don't hesitate to be honest with me
I think if it works for you, then you should keep doing what feels right. I don't have a problem keeping with your rules. :D You cant always MAKE people follow them, but those that respect you will do as you ask.
I personally only buy things for personal use and would only sell an item if I genuinely never use it or can't find how to use it. I respect everyone's rules but to me as a buyer I expect to do with what I buy what I want with it since, once you buy it it is yours. At least that is how I see it, I hope that doesn't bother others but that's my point of view. Still you are free to make your own rules yet too strict rules can be hard to follow up for you. I honestly don't always remember who I buy an item from so I am very reluctant to sell things in order not to break any rules I probably don't know.
I do not agree with anyone reselling at higher prices or only getting things for profit, you should only buy for personal use but not everyone thinks the same. Stay strong.
EEP. You're honestly amazing <3 Please don't change. Honestly, I thought the raffles were a lot of fun. It definitely switches up things and allows everyone the chance to get some thangs they want, which is always nice. I wouldn't go as far as to say every item should be like that, but it's definitely something that's awesome every now and again just to break things up. In terms of people slotting just for profit, honestly, that is totally your call. I feel like asking people to not resell for a ton isn't asking for very much, but idk. Apparently, it's something people have trouble with. Just do what makes you happy, tbh. :)
~ CW Group ✰ CW Releasing Thread ✰ My CS ✰ CW Wishes ~You should do what YOU want to do. I can follow the rules. So can others. But they always have a few snakes that find their way into catching a release and taking advantage of others.
Its sad, I know. I dont think you are asking too much, at ALL.
It sickens me people take advantage of you and other sweet people like you.
STAY STRONG, LOVE. Dont let trashiness get you down, and dont back down from anyone!!! Stand your guard on what you think is right.
I also like the slot raffle things, because it gives others who might not be able to catch your releases so easily a chance to nab something pretty c: Selling for slot or trading in equal value in trades, should be the general consensus But ofc. People gotta mess good shit up.
Ilu.

my opinion is if it's stressing you out then let them do what they want. My other opin is your stuff always sells super fast maybe do some more copies? It would help keep prices more reasonable? Just my thoughts just do what makes you happy and relaxed ♡♡♡
I can't imagine how stressful it must be to keep track of who has what along with monitoring what people do with the cws. :( I agree with you that I don't think it's fair that people slot only to turn around and immediately resell for much higher than what they purchased it for. However it must be hard to keep track of those sales. I think if you notice repeat offenders with this you could ban them from purchasing your cws? I'm not certain of any work around for that. :( On the other hand I can see where someone waits a while and that cw just doesn't work for them and then as long as it's not private they put it up to sell or trade.
My work schedule varies and some days I'm not online until late at night. Usually by then I miss most slots, but that's just the way it goes lol. I do appreciate when you make it fair for everyone by providing the slot raffles. :) I like those along with making a cw available for everyone to purchase in a limited time like 24 hours or so.I think it's a good idea to not want people to sell things of yours for huge prices. Auctioned items, fine. But general release, why is slot price not good enough?
It also stops people from buying your things just to turn around and resell them. People are more likely to slot because they genuinely want the item.
While I think it's super shitty for people to slot on things just for the sake of trading them or reselling for ridiculous prices because an item is limited and "trending," once someone buys something it's theirs to do what they want with it. Even if someone were to buy something like a car where only 50 are ever released, they could still sell or do whatever they want with that car. The car company isn't going to say, you can only buy this car if you promise to sell it for no more than what you paid.
ANYWAY, they are your items you bought to release to others and if you don't want others to sell for way over slot price then I will honor that. If you wish to sell me an item as "private" then I will honor that and sell it back to you if I don't use it anymore. I feel like if others are willing to honor your arrangements it works. Most people will respect your wishes, others might not. All you could do is ask and blacklist repeat offenders. They are your things to sell, sell them as you like! :D
I do love slots for raffles! It gives me a chance to slot on something I could have missed because I was at work. Like I literally put in a 12 hour work day today and missed everything T-T I'm sure others feel the same way.
Suggestions for improvement: I can see the raffles being hard to slot as well if you have 100 people every time trying to get a slot. Maybe ping the group to announce when you next think you are going to take slots. Ping to take slots, but reserve 5 copies to be raffled off later. This way anyone that wasn't online when slots were open has a chance to slot later.
I like the fact that you care that people don't overcharge for your items if they want to sell or trade them. n_n You're items are very lovely and you try to make it so everyone has the opportunity to enjoy them. But I can also see how this can be stressful. x: I try to respect the rules in regard to each releaser's shop, sometimes I get confused on who released what though, so I am sorry if I violated your rules! u_u
With the slot raffles... Well, I think that they're an interesting way to try and slot on an item. It makes it less of a "first come, first serve" issue, and that's nice for people that aren't always online. As someone that rarely wins raffles, I hate them. XD Although I have won two, so maybe my luck is changing. lol Perhaps what you can do with the raffle, if you have more than one color at a time, maybe each person can only win once. That way it isn't one person walking away with two copies and it lets more individuals get one? Or offer more slots on the raffles (I can't remember how many slots were on the raffles, so ignore this probably).
I hope that you keep making your beautiful things but I also hope that you can reduce your stress. I hope you have a good night. n_n
* * * my wislist
I've also considered offering to buy things back and offer them to the next people on the drop list, but that also requires people remember and follow-up and I don't want anyone to be stressed about my stress about releases LOL.
I've never slotted for profit if you see someone doing it you could just not slot them. Just another idea I had I'm sorry for the double ping.
I think doing these every ONCE in a while would be a cool idea too!! :o

Second this!
I've seen people do that and it seems really silly to me, but it is the world we live in unfortunately. You can't force people to stick to the rules you set sadly. I try to give people teh benefit of the doubt, but sometimes you get taken advantage of and those people can do real damage in your trust of anyone else. Personally, I don't have enough energy or time to keep track of people and what they do with the cws I sell, so I don't try to put restrictions on them. Mostly I try not to put in too small limits in batches. If I see something is selling well, I'd rather give more copies out to keep prices reasonable for all because there will always be the ones that will take a highly desired item and make a profit off of it. I don't think there's anything wrong with that in the case of said user had the item for awhile and decided they didn't want/need it anymore... but those that take a slot only for the purpose of selling it at astronomical prices are just mean and def working the system. If I see an item like that, I personally just ignore them because I'm not willing to spend the price... but some ppl will.
If one of the things you think will reduce stress is to just stop worrying about it and getting rid of the rule, than do that, but if you think you'll still worry about it- then try something else, like Kaiidth suggested, maybe make larger batches- that will bring down the prices naturally because there will be more copies available in general.
But I agree, do whatever you feel is the best for YOU. Don't worry about anyone else, they're not worth your effort. < 3
i think it's more than fair to have a general courtesy rule to ask ppl not to get out of control when it comes to your items! most ppl are really good about honoring the "code" so to speak but you can't help the handful who are just bums about it :/ it's more about you as yourself letting it go and letting the customer be themselves. though for the record, people who throw things in trades immediately for high return do tick me off in a very personal kind of way but w/e they bought it and i'm more wary of them in the future plus, i think that we as the community have to really do what we can to curb some of the outrageousness that happens and with so much of your stuff being so keenly sought out (i need to complete the shard collection OK!!!) and in their already limited quantities they'll retain value regardless that said, i think also bumping the quantities of things sometimes (i.e. pies, oxsies, etc) every now and then could help assuage the customer base that could feel slighted that it's so hard to slot on something. maybe a 30 count more often instead of a 20? i've seen other releasers eschew their original self-imposed limitations on item count because of how popular an item got and it hasn't seemed to hurt the value (yet) and don't stress yourself about buying back copies i think that'll just mean ppl with bug you about HEY DO YOU HAVE ANY MORE OF THIS????? as for the raffles: i think they were a good idea but the first one you had seemed like a really short window of time to enter? i missed it completely and have no clue how lol (no hard feelings, that's ultimately on me)
hmmm i think i covered everything? i've been thinking a lot on how what's the best way to fix the market, too and idk if there's really a true solution :/
Hello, thank you for this opportunity. I apologize if any of this is too harsh, I tend to get that way.
The "trading fodder" rule you have is perfectly reasonable, but I have some concerns.
I love lots of your releases. They're beautiful, and I can understand why they're popular and why they sold out fast. However, I get disappointed when I miss slots because I really love the item, and it just gets worse when I see someone put it up for trade for some super expensive WL item, especially when I'm 2-10 minutes late. I understand you want your private group to have first dibs, but I wish there are more copies available for your public group to slot on (I have seen the drop lists and they are really long). I suggest making extra batches/copies for your public group, maybe that will prevent people slotting on them just to trade. ^O^
I like the raffles you have done, it gives everyone an equal opportunity to win a slot. So, thank you very much. :)
/hugs
I don't know you very well, but this is something I've also been thinking about a lot lately - though thankfully I haven't had to deal with much of this at all. Hope it's ok if I give my opinion ~ XD
I love the slot raffles, first off - they're a great way to get copies into people's hands (esp people who do not usually catch your public releases) esp since so many of your releases are uber beautiful and popular.
I think it's very reasonable (in fact, logical) to ask people not to flip / or only sell for slot. It might be hard to enforce, but making it a rule probably makes others who do respect your rules to enforce it for you. I've seen this happen for other releases that we know are not supposed to be sold over slot. So it might be better for your mental health and stress anyway!!
Another solution might be to just increase the number of slots on the items. If most of the people who wanted the item got it, you probably wouldn't create the need to flip or trade and save a lot of headache. This is so unnecessarily tricky to get right though since we have no flipping clue what is really popular until after we already set limits XD There's also other reasons why releasers don't like to create larger batches but perhaps some of your most popular items you could consider increasing batch to decrease the chance of flipping?
I hope nothing I said was offensive or out of line ahh ~ <3 I think setting rules is an unfortunate reality we have to deal with to keep our sanity and you shouldn't feel bad doing so at all :)
Aww i agree with many users that you should do whatever feels best for you. You are the releaser, you pay your hard earned money to commission artists and no one has the right to hound you about your rules/choices.
I respect releasers and artists because they have to put up with a lot stress and BS.
/hugs and lots of love
I don't mind whatever you choose to do sweetie. I'll be sure to follow any rules you put in place because you as the releaser don't have to publicly slot any of your items, but you are being so kind as to do so and deserve to not be taken advantage of.
