Yeah that way everyone gets a fair shot at it unless they don't have internet access for a time, but there's not much that can be done about that lol. I wish that Subeta had some type of big directory of all of the cw creators/releasers along with the lists of private/public cws. I know they don't officially recognize private cws, but it would help users where say if I want to sell one later on I can just search on google or on that board itself and see its status. I always worry when I sell/trade some cws if they are private or not. I do make notes, but then I'm getting old and could forget lol.

I like things just selling for slot, and it's what I do when I resell stuff. I don't think there's necessarily anything wrong with using cws you just got for high value trades, though.

I can super appreciate where you’re coming from here, and maybe this could either be changed or used to my advantage. I could ping my friend group to gauge interest and set the batches off of that? Or not always give them first dibs and then kind of let bygones be bygones and only blacklist in the event that it becomes a trend!

frick that screenshot is funny

I like the 24 hour thing. I did that for black Friday and sold an insane amount of the galactic pie & the shard I released that day. Also vars just did my gay marble unlimited and so we know the desire is there for some things? It’s such a strangely balanced system.

Also apologies for not responding to everyone, your words are super encouraging and I genuinely appreciate your opinions. I've always known I think way too much into this and the community is small but also strangely saturated and unsaturated in certain places. I enjoy subeta a lot and I know a lot of people have been driven away by the negativity. Just mulling it all over.

I personally only buy items I intend to use, and I disagree (on a personal level) with buying things with the intent to trade. That said, I feel like the more popular releasers who consistently sell out on items are probably always going to be susceptible to people doing that. It seems that the "don't resell for more than slot" rules kind of lead into more people just using those items to trade (whether they initially wanted the item or not) and tbh I feel like that kind of makes them harder to get your hands on than just tacking a high price tag on them, which as a buyer is frustrating. But I don't really know what would be more beneficial to you and your stress levels

The raffles were nice, at least as a once in awhile thing. I also am a big fan of "unlimited for x hours" releases personally, I know they don't really work for all the time but I like them a lot. I don't really know the logistics of how larger batch limits would affect anything, but I know Vars mentioned one time that like 90-some copies of the Galactic pie went out during Black Friday and I still see people trying to trade it + not many for sale/trade. Like it's only been a few months and over time maybe it won't be like that but idk I feel like an extra batch or two wouldn't hurt (though I feel like that about a lot of releases and it's 90% just because I hate missing out on things lol. ik I can't just have it all but it'd be nice you know)

yeah! unlimited releases are awesome too that's how i gauged the batch amount for my latest release but i know some most ppl just put off buying an item if it's forever unlimited in shops so i don't think batches are inherently bad

also glad i screened that snowball best thing abt this thread yet LOL

I say just go with what you think you should/what feels right to you. I think your rules are reasonable and I understand where you are coming from. It really irritates me when i see people slotting on things just to retrade them-- enough that I've considered blacklisting those people from slotting on my own releases.

I don't typically catch your releases so I seldom even attempt to claim slots but that is the way of things and I'm not bothered by it personally. Your releases should also make you happy so I wouldn't sacrifice that just to please more people.

On another note, I have some holiday pies that I slotted on (birthday releases) that i've never really used and was thinking about selling but am still hoarding bc i don't want to sell to someone whose gonna hold it hostage for a trade... If you'd like to buy them back, just let me know. I'll probably gift or sell them at some point otherwise. n_n

tbh with some of the more popular/sell-y out sorts of things, I could probably do an unlimited release time here and there. OR submit to shop and let people buy. Because a lot of the worry with slotting huge amounts is breaking the system, but there are times where it seems like the system could handle the pressure of more batches.

I'm pretty much always happy to buy things back or rehome them. I keep pretty extensive lists of drop information and try and repurpose or I just sit on things. I like to try and get things to places people want them in! Just let me know, I super appreciate you doing that.

It may be true that once you buy something it is yours do as you please. With that being said, If you put/said No Sale No trade then that is what it should be and if people can't/wont do that then they really shouldn't slot for it. Some one mentioned (i am to tired and have a headache to go see who it was) that maybe they cant find a use for a slotted item so they sell or trade it, I for one do not slot on an item now matter how pretty of an item it is if i am not sure I will use it. I know my tastes well enough to know what i will and will not use. Also some one said and again (i am to tired and have a headache to go see who it was) that it is hard for them to remember who they bought what from and if it was a no sale so trade private item. I can understand this if you buy alot of CWs, so what I do is I write down what Cw i purchased and from who and if it had any rules. But then again for me I never plan on selling any item i paid real money for. But hey that is just me.

I am sorry if you are being stressed about all this, maybe take a break, Because in my humble opinion you have a right to sell how you want to.

there's that disappearing batch glitch happening for some ppl but it seems to be a byproduct of the new batch system and they'll prolly get the kinks out soon i really liked how you did the galactic pie unlimited for BF because it let me figure out WHEN to buy my copy LOL i forget whose group i'm in that has started doing a monthly unlimited release and i'm not sure how popular it's been but i liek the idea of that too! (omg i need to figure this out i feel bad for forgetting)

does this disappearing glitch not let people slot? or do they pay and it poofs? or are they getting it and releasers not seeing? because I noticed it was poofing on the last batch and that's NOT GOOD

That works c: , giving other groups first dibs is something I have not seen before. I also love the unlimited releases every once in a while, like one popping up randomly for 24 hours kind of thing. I hope everything goes smoothly for you in the future!

I like the idea of 24 hour availability.

When the batches of something are really limited and most of the slots are already taken by people in your private group, so there are 3 slots left by the time it goes public, they are gone in a minute. And whoever is online might claim one whether they wanted one or not because hey - popular item with only 3 public slots! Meanwhile someone who really wanted one (me) is fubar, and they (I) have to scour through my collection contemplating which things I own I may be willing to sacrifice for the one I missed, and hope that the people who did slot were willing to trade. (And then because of topics like this I am afraid that people see my stuff in trades and think I am just using them as trade fodder. :( )

With a 24 hour availability there isn't really any point in trying to snipe one for trade fodder, because 99% of the people who want one are going to have the chance to buy it on their own for slot price anyways.

I also like the masq/vesnali type contests where you have to hit a reasonable goal (200 - 500 dances, kisses, whatev) to slot on an item. I think that people that don't actually want that item are not going to want to bother.

I haven't ever tried to buy any of the shards even though I know they are insanely popular, and I didn't participate in the Bday events, because most of the items weren't ones I was interested in (okay, that and you caught me during a 9 day in a row working stretch). But when it comes to the Pie Strands, I am honestly a bit embarrassed about how annoying I can be.

I think you are an amazing person and I love all of your cws! I do get kinda sad when I miss slots by a couple of mintues. It Hella sucks even more to see someone just slot to freakin trade it a couple of hours later. I see why you wanna keep stuff private. I completely respect that and I see how people react. This is kinda the reason I'm a bit afraid to release a cw myself. I love the 24 hour idea though. It gives people a chance to slot. It is completely up to you though hun.

The contests are also super good ideas! I like that idea!

I appreciate the opportunity to address this issue. I totally get your rules and we all try to abide by them. I usually don't buy resale too often unless it's at slot price or lower. If I do sell a CW it is at slot or lower to people who didn't get a chance at it when it was released.

I like the TBD batches because this gives people a chance to slot for it. If you have 27 people who want a item I would put the last batch in the shop and send out invites and if a new member or someone decides they like it then can get an invite. After that it's sold out but the last three won't be sold at ridiculous prices.

I also like the limited time to slot. Say noon to midnight, as an example. Gives people in different time zones a chance at it. 24 hours also works for special CW releases.

Once someone buys my item. I usually forget about it. So I don't stress about it. But I've only been doing this a short while. It's very time consuming and stressful so I definitely get it.

Like people said. Do what makes you happy so that you want to continue doing this. We all love your items. And appreciate you more than you know.

Have a lovely Friday.

How do you determine how many batches you release, and is it possible to release more than 2 batch of popular items? If everyone that wants a copy can get one, without being on 24/7 or winning a raffle, then there'd be no incentive for CW-scalpers to turn around and resell at a higher price.

Edit: I caught up on reading the last page or so, and I'll echo that 24hr unlimited release or TBD batches sound like great solutions.

❤️ To be honest you vary it up all the time. I don't really a reason to change how you sell your CWs, because you do raffles and other ways to incorporate not just the fastest fingers and people who are always online. The idea with the odd 24hr unlimited sounds kinda neat too to maybe throw into the mix, but apart from that I think you do a great job. You have been increasing the number of copies for items from 10 to usually 20 now too, which is getting more copies out there for people.

About reselling, just keep doing what you're doing. Why? The rest of the community is aware that people are being silly and odd, in a sense you could say they're the ones digging their own graves. Because less and less people will be willing to deal with those individuals when they charge WAAAAAAAY too much for things or turn around and trade immediately. People are just becoming more and more aware of these things and the people doing the resales/trades are just segregating themselves from the community. You deal with enough hassles on here, you don't need more headaches.
