As mentioned in the title, I haven't really been here for a few years. The last time I got on was around the time when Xotl were added to the site.

A few things I've noticed:

*Aeanoids are way cheaper than they used to be. *A lot of potions are also way cheaper now. *Zentu are interesting. *New colors!

I'm sure there's tons of clothes, events, ect. I missed while I was away. I've already started snooping around trying to find stuff, but would anyone like to help me out a bit?

Welcome back! Not much has changed since, it should be quite easy to get back to the hang of things 'u'

Just a few pointers:

• you can now sell CWs in user shops for CSC
• everyone has a basic of 10 pet slots instead of 5 for regular and 10 for GA.
• questing is actually worth the money, a good way to gain sP if you're in a pinch.
• now every time a monthly collection is released, previous years' collections are also available, including donation presents that no longer give out random items, you simply get to pick which one you want.
• you can now find all the main shops, special shops and seasonal shops under the same tab!
• Merana was gone for a while due plotty plot reasons, but has now returned to haunt us with improved hydrus quests. You can find her at the bottom of the explore map from time to time, so keep an eye on when she appears if you need to make something hydrus.
• Subetapedia contains a whole bunch of information on NPCs, pets and locations if you want to read up on lore. Sadly, I don't think plot event recaps have been listed there.

I'm sure there's more tiny stuff that im forgetting but q__q Welcome back!

• first of all, go look at the shop search if you haven't, yet. buy something! It's MAHJIC (i'm sorry i can't help myself)
• also go buy something from the main stores. no more captcha! it's all so smooooooth
• shops have changed over to a new system, so be sure to switch yours over! there's a guide or two in the forums.
• huuuge wardrobe change! you also now have an overall limit to layers on your HA, instead of a couple per layer.
• ISS, and mystical plushies no longer do their thing, it's all in the cash shop.
• millionaire center now has everything year round, but off-season items are sold at a markup.
• you can buy pet slots from the MC! the cost goes up as your purchase more.
• the debate forum is gone
• sooo many chance machines. there are more that come around at relevant times of the year, i believe.
• i think pinging in news comments is new, compared to the xotl.
• i think ping groups are, too. and they have their own subforums! they've replaced cults (though not always used as cults, by far), which are COMPLETELY wiped from the face of subeta officially.
• there are a bunch of new shops! make sure you click around the tabs. c:
• wishlists now auto-categorize. they also don't tell you when you have an item, anymore. you can CHANGE YOUR DEFAULT WL CATEGORY for when you're added ten thousand books for a pet to read, or the equivalent
• trades expire after 2 weeks, items go back to your inventory. you can also add CSC to trades, just like you do sP. it just has to be on-hand! you can also do odd amounts! no more having 253 csc mocking you from your dashboard.
• there's a new land, and some things have been rearranged. (the adoption center, for one.)
• the lands have art that varies with the time of day (unsure if all, or just some), and sometimes have weather.
• the adoption center is cleared out and doesn't often have that many pets hanging around. i believe that's new!

aaaand that's all i've got at 3am. i recently came back from a two year hiatus, and this is either (a) all the stuff i learned, or (b) has happened since i got back.

You're absolutely right; as soon as I got back, not only was I...laughably confused by the navigation, but I got like, so many mini achievements of sorts by just looking around doing normal stuff? Though since I have a Zentu, I can say I've definitely had a look around and bought stuff from shops, both player- and site-run!

It looks like the Galactic Crystals or whatever you used to make Galactic pets are totally gone now though? Now you have to get like, one of every type for some old fairy guy I don't remember seeing. Though some of those individual crystals seem just as expensive as their whole used to be, good grief! I went from 100K to 40K just trying to see if it would still work!

I noticed the shop change too; one of my pets had also had their name taken while I was gone, so I had to change it. :s

I think I might've overlooked/forgotten something, but what's a CW?

I absolutely noticed the increase in the default number of pets. It inspired me to go off and get a few new ones right out the gate! (Though seeing some of the new colors when I left certainly helped! :P)

I'm glad there's some kind of wiki thing; it looks like there's way more experiments since I left, and when none of them have actual names, I have no idea which ones are which when they're all listed in text > pictures.

Coda Caves crystals are the way you do that now, yes. I don't remember when exactly that changed, but sometimes the prices fluctuate depending on if a new Galactic pet was just released or revamped. Also the Coda Caves are open for like two days every month (I believe it's the 6th and 7th of the month), you can go grab a random crystal or one of the other items found there every 2 hours or so during those days.

Also CW stands for Custom Wearable. Items created by other users on the site and sold for CSC. Some of them come in limited batches, others are less limited. It depends on what the person who makes it wants to do.

Oh wow; I thought those caves were open on certain times a day, but that makes sense since they haven't opened since I came back! (Though now that it's the 1st that shouldn't take long.)

Oh yeah, I remember seeing a CW waaaay back when I started playing. It's neat that those are still around!

Also, user shops have completely changed over. If you can't access your old shops, that would be why. Your old shops will have a black triangular ! symbol next to them on the shops dropdown.

If you haven't already you'll need to re-create your user shops before you can effectively sell anything there.

There's a user guide and "how to" floating around somewhere, but for the life of me I can't find it!

Yeah, I wound up doing that last night. It'll probably be more useful when I start doing wizard quests again, though I've been thinking of selling some older stuff I don't want anymore too.
