I'm nearing the end of each pet's treasure, and just realized it's going to be time to start buying up all the CW's I need. Looking through my WL, I have a TON. And I'm very scared for my bank account :( I'm having such a hard time justifying 5-8 bucks for a single item that will probably never even be looked at - other than for my own personal satisfaction. And if I buy all the ones I need, I'm looking at 400-500 bucks, which sounds absolutely nuts!

So I want to know: do you splurge on CW's for pet treasures? How many would you buy? Do you only buy your "must-have" items? How do you prioritize? and most importantly, how do you justify the expense?!?!

A couple of my pets do have custom items in their TCs. It just sort of happened though, and I don't actively seek out CWs for them. My pets are more likely to get a CW for their treasures though than I am to put in my wardrobe. xD The only CW I got exclusively for a TC was from the pawn shop, otherwise what I have I'd be genuinely interested in wearing myself.

I definitely have CWs in my pet TCs, and I used to be a bit more keen on searching through and buying them. I don't buy them anymore because it's hard for me to keep track of all the items :( (edit:by that, I meant that I don't have time to know what new items are release anymore. The amount of CWs is kinda overwhelming to me xD). And you are right, 400-700 csc per item is a bit pricy if you need a lot of them. It's probably easier for me to justify buying CWs for fan pets because some of the tribute items are like a must-haves for a certain characters. And I can go flexible with OCs, and find cheaper substitutes for them (sorry OCs I love you guys all the same). Most of the CWs in my OCs' TCs are not must-haves, but just out of impulse buying after seeing pretty item art xD...

I don't buy CWs for my pets unless it's the perfect item then I guess I would. But I just can't satisfy spending so much on one item if it's not the perfect one. Plus it's usually not that easy to find the ones you want!

I don't reeeally do Tcs, but if I did, I think my CW policy would be identical to my Sapphire gallery rule...Probably not gonna happen unless I liked the item so much -i- was going to use it as a wearable too. I can see how some people who have tribute pets might want items that are clearly related to that character in a fandom, but otherwise? Nah. Cw's as you said are freaking expensive...and there are SO many it's a bitch to keep track of. Plus, i can almost guarantee that if you take the time you're going to spot the perfect one you definitely want for it only to find out it's a private. XD Most of the cw's i do own I pawn-surfed, in part because of price and the other part to avoid the "oh i want tha-..nvm can't have it" moments. =0P

It's too expensive and I'm incredibly, utterly picky. I have... two pets with CW items in there, and that's just because I happened to have the CSC at the time + the items were perfect.

As much as I'd love to do it more often, it's just not feasible for me.

Yes, several of my pets have custom wears in their TCS.

In general , the other main reason I buy CWs outside of using them on my avatar is the item image fit particular pet's TCS.

I have a few (this thread actually reminds me, I have one that needs to be sold). I used to stick to a "no CWs" rule but now I mainly just buy the ones that really stand out to me. I've been trying to come up with a fan pet for a certain character for awhile, the CW that I'm about to go sell actually is one that looks a lot like one of her outfits (the reason I'm selling it though is that the CI really doesn't look like anything special and no one will see the preview anyway).

I have a few baseball bats that have pretty fitting descriptions for the character (though iirc they're actually tributes to a different character haha)

I have a fuckload of CWs in my wardrobe already so I don't need to justify the expense to myself. But if you buy the CSC with sP then it's just like any other expensive must-have TC item, right? [edit] I just wanted to clarify that most if not all of the CWs I have I slotted on (I'm pretty sure I have several that came from my own releases too but as far as I'm concerned it's the same thing haha). I wouldn't WL a CW that I came across just for a TC in the hopes of finding it someday (my own CW WL is hard enough lol). But if it was open for slotting/in a shop and I could just buy it? That's cool with me.

I have some CWs in my TCs, but it's mostly not intentional. They're CWs I bought to wear and ended up not liking and didn't want to sell.

It's expensive enough using Cash Shop items for TC's but I haven't come across a CW that MUST be in a TC, at least not yet. Most CW's I buy/wishlist are for my HA only. The ones I get given to me randomly are kept in my wardrobe just because I may use it sometime. so short answer, CW in TC - too rich for my blood. :)

It would have to justify the expense, which means that it would have to be an item with amazingly awesome and perfectly fitting item art.

I haven't put my foot down on this - in fact, there are a lot of CWs where I look at the item art and imagine a TC it would fit into, because the art is sometimes really good. And if I find something perfect for my pet, I'll buy it. I just haven't found one yet - because real money is involved, my standards are wayyyy high.

I use CWs for my pet TCs. Often they have really great Icons that fit for my pets so I maust have them for their TCs ^^ and I bet more CWs are in pet TCs than in my wadrobe.

It's funny because I'll spend $5 for a cash shop item, but for some reason spending it on a CW seems different and way more "extravagant", lol. Not sure why!

Yeah, I do this quite a bit. That said, if eventually I can't find a sellable copy of an item on a pet's TC I'll go through and delete CWs I know I'll never get.

Anyway, a couple of my CWs in TCS were slotted, but most were bought from either trades or from individual CW shops. I think right now the most I have in one is probably Bedtime since that particular pet has at least 4-5 CWs in their TC. Octantis has a couple too(3-4, maybe) and some other individual pets have 1-2 in their TCs.

Not sure why I was pinged xD. But maybe because I said I don't have time to keep track of them anymore. By that I meant more like I don't know what items are out there to put on my wishlist anymore xD.

I suggested the tagging system for item art to Jessi, so tc people can search through cws more easily. But I'm not sure if it will be implemented.

Well, I've started....Bought 9 or 10 CWs yesterday and I'm already feeling the pain XD But my god, is it ever addictive!

But ditto what Horror said - would be great if the CW system was easier to go through, especially since so many CI's don't match their item names AT ALL! 20+ hours on Subetalodge and I've got a list going, but there are probably so many I'm missing :(

No. My major tc collecting is butterflies. It was expensive enough getting the noncws I have. If I try to go for all the butterfly item art cws, no thank you. I can't justify and refuse to get into cws for wearing.
