idk if its just me, or my terrible pronunciation, or what but the starbucks staff can never get my name right. i would get ESTER, ESTE, ASTER, ASSTER, ISTE etc. so living in an asian country where esther is somehow rare, i thought i would start going by my middle name, grace, instead. i assumed since its a common english word and a simple name so yeah, im sure they can spell it right ... but YOU THOUGHT SO HUH

so i went 2 another starbucks & thought, huh maybe i didnt enunciate it very well so i said GRAY-S & they managed 2 find a longer & less conventional way of spelling chris by spelling it as "CHRIISS"

last week i went again & they finally wrote a name which is somehow the closest i could ever get w my name. y'know. it me. ester gres

you know what i think theyre doing it on purpose. or they gave up on names. who knows lmao. has anyone gotten bad names? whats the worst any of you ever got?

I believe they sometimes do it out of spite / just for the fun of it. We don't have Starbucks here so I never had the chance to try but I will always celebrate this image. <--- Marc with a "c", you know?

They can never spell my real name either, so I've abbreviated it and go by "Jane". They can't even get that right. I've gotten "June, Jade, Jay" and the funniest one (I actually took a picture) I got was "Jawk". My mom has a simple name and she sometimes gets "Louis, Lois, Lise". The funniest one she got was "Lousie"

I remember I ordered something (it's rare af for me to go there) and since my name is hard, I told them "Fab". Would you believe me if I said they wrote "Fap"? Because they did.

Kudos to the girl who shouted fap in the Starbucks last month.

i have a really italian name but now that i live in england i generally use the english version, damian half the time they spell it damien which isn't really a big deal but over christmas someone wrote 'babian' and i was just.............. dafuq m8 lmao and another time i got 'daimin' but uh in their defense there were a bunch of people and the place was noisy af so i can't blame them

I've rarely had people actually get my name wrong at Starbucks but I tend to just spell it out if I can tell that they got my name wrong at the cash register though. I have had people call me a different name though. I got variations of my name a lot when I was younger by other people.

When I was in Asia and living in Taiwan I just went by my Chinese name since I figured it was easier than them attempting to spell my english name.

My name is Brittany, and I can count on one hand the number of times they've actually spelled it correctly. And I go to Starbucks like once a week. lol

Honestly, it's been a learning experience for me. I had absolutely no idea there were so many ways to spell my name. I've gotten Brittney, Britney, Brittnay, Brittny, Britaney, and the list goes on.

Once I was in Starbucks and it was realitively dead, like me and maybe 3 other people were waiting for drinks. I ordered my thing, and a couple minutes later, the same drink I ordered was put up on the counter, but the girl called "Barry." And I was like, "Okay, one of these guys must've ordered the same thing," but no one moved to go get it, and I was like, "Wait is that me...?" So I go up there, and I'm like, "I'm not sure if this is mine or not." And the barista asked, "What's your name?" so I said "Brittany" and she shook her head in disappointment and was like, "Just take it." I still don't know if Barry was really what they heard me say, or if I stole someone else's drink on accident. lol

My name is Beth, which is a pretty simple name right? I've had more than one person spell it Beath. I just don't get it.

There was a guy that put MacBeth on the cup because he was trying to be funny I guess. There is also this woman at Starbucks that asks for my name every time and every time I tell her she has to tell me about how her dead grandmother's name was Beth and how much she loves the name.

My name is Carrie so I'm pretty used to them writing Kerry, Carey and even Cari. But the most awkward one is when they wrote my name as Terry. When I was picking up my drink I was soo hesitant because there was soo many other people waiting but after 5 minutes of waiting.. It was actually mine ^^"

There were many caffeine deprived morning at Starbucks where I just didn't feel like spelling out my name to the barista so I just went by "Sarah" or "Anne" or "Jane" lol I have a really uncommon French name and it's sometimes much simpler to just use an alias and get my drink :P Once, I decided to just shorten my name to "Josi" to make it easy for them - got called Jodi haha close enough, I guess.

And this is not related to Starbucks in any way but, my first name is also spelled wrong on my freaking driver's license. The lady couldn't even be bothered to copy it down properly from the form...smh. I tried to get it corrected but the procedure to do that is really complicated where I live so I just haven't bothered with it yet. I just have a single consonant where it should be a double so it's not that big of a deal.
