A guide to help you navigate the forums, forum groups, and CW Shops.

Some general info first:

  1. Custom Wearables (cws) are user-created content that can be paid for and uploaded to Subeta. If you're looking for a guide on that process, please see the Stickied Thread from and .

  2. CW Forum Shops/Threads refers to the Main CW Forum: Custom Clothing Forum

  3. Forum/Thread shops differ from CW Shops, where users who have released a CW can put their remaining batches, or where they can directly release items. For better explanations on how those differ, please see the thread linked above.

Now for the nitty gritty, how to find groups, slot on new releases, and navigate the CW Market.

General CW Forum Groups: There are a variety of groups you can join to discover New CWs. You can join the massive, general use public groups (list to follow), as well as groups for Artists who are accepting commissions (should you wish to have a CW designed for you to release) and for Releasers who are taking slots on new items.

Offical CW Announcements - this is run by staff and is pinged whenever there are rule clarifications or adjustments (or new things which will be allowed) regarding CWs.

CustomWear - this group is pingable by any member and is the best group to join if you want to get pings for the majority of released CWs. People only ping this group when they are accepting slots on public CWs.

1st Batch - this group is pingable by any member and is reserved for people who are trying to get an item on-site and are having trouble filling slots in their very first (or only) batch of an item. It's a great group to join if you're sometimes interested in trying to help those hard to fill single and/or initial batches.

CW Fill - this group is pingable by any member and is reserved for people who have 1-2 slots left to fill in any batch of an item.

New CW - this group is publicly open but only the admins are able to ping (due to some errors, other users may be able to, but they should not). This group is pinged solely to the Released Custom Wearables List thread. It is updated a few times a week (or less, the lovely ladies who update the thread are busy after all) and lists recent item approvals as well as who the artist was that created the item (but please remember that is not necessarily the person who released the item).

CW Price - this group is new and still growing, but it is designed to help you figure out how much a given CW typically goes for on the second hand market!

Public Release Groups: Many people who release/sell custom wearables have what's known as a Public forum group. They often ping these groups before they ping the others (customwear, 1stbatch, cwfill), as the people who elect to join these groups are most often interested in the types of items this person usually sells/releases.

For a comprehensive (though not entire, there's a lot of groups and a lot of inactive users) list, please see the CW Public Ping Group Directory that has been working so hard on for everyone!

Navigating the CW Forums

Release Threads The Custom Clothing threads can seem daunting. There are so many, each of them operating like a shop, with their own varied rules/requirements. Most of the stickied threads, while useful and helpful to those who are selling items using the forum, are not designed for buyers, so hopefully this guide can help.

  1. Clicking on threads will take you to what most people will commonly refer to as the Main Page/Main Post/First Post (and a lot of people will use one of those terms as shorthand when pinging groups to the thread, ie "# pinged group - New Items, please see first post!"
  2. Most releasers will explain their shop rules within the first few posts of the main page. Often the rules seem like common sense (please don't claim if you aren't prepared to pay, please be polite, etc).
  3. Often times you will see links to the person's CW Shop and/or their Public Group in the first post or within the first few main posts. Some of these shops are a joint effort by two users, in which case you may see alternating posts that detail their rules, groups, and newest releases.
  4. Generally, you are welcome to ping the thread creator and claim on items you see listed in these initial posts. If something has any restrictions (such as being currently only offered to members of their ping group) they often list that out in the post with the item (it will generally say something like "Pinged Only at this time please!").

As noted in the post above, many of these groups are private and a list is being compiled so that you may more easily find a number of groups that you are welcome to join without restriction. For ease of explanation, I'm going to use my thread as an example:

Bad Moon Rising

In the initial post, you'll see my welcome message. It is immediately followed by a navigation menu (with links!) because I fully understand you may not need to/want to read any of the rest of the information I have. Because it is a joint shop with another user, we have a few more posts other threads might have. Our rules are also listed in the initial post so that they're easy to find. Also linked are our CW Shops and our Public Ping Groups. The second post holds the current release for the person I share the board with, the third post holds my newest release. Assorted posts after list release information for past items and artist credits for items not drawn by us.

In general, this is a standard shop layout, though things do differ from user to user. For a comparison, you can check out any of the other threads - some of them condense all of the information into their first post, some spread it out over a few, some only have a main post which lists what item is currently being released.

The Subforums

Commissions Subforum: This subforum is designed for people who ar either looking to commission a specific item, or who are offering commissions. Every artist has their own rules and terms that you must agree to when commissioning them (the rules are to protect both the artist and the customer should any commission take a southward turn). If you're looking for more information on how Commissions work, please see the introduction to CW Releasing thread.

Discussions Subforum: This subforum is a great place to find some guides, tutorials, and help threads. Some are stickied at the top, some you may need to scroll to find.

CW Denial Help Thread - if you've submitted a CW that you have drawn and it has been denied, you can post in here and artists can try to help you figure out how to adjust your work based on the denials. This is not run by official staff, but many artists are willing to check in and help.

Drawing Subeta Style - a video and guide by who is a prominent Staff artist with tips and tricks for making sure you're working in Subeta's style and can understand the light source. This was done near the start of CWs, so the art is in a slightly older style, but all of the pertinent information still applies!

CW Public Ping Group Directory - this was linked in the previous post, but it's a great resource for finding both Artists' groups to join if you want to commission (or occasionally try to win free designs) as well as public ping groups to join.

Custom Wear Identity Thread - have you seen an item but are not sure what it is/who released it/who drew it? This is the place to post. If you put up a screenshot or link to the item you saw (or an HA wearing the item if you aren't sure of the name), you can post it here and ask if anyone else knows what it is. Help may be slow in coming, but in general someone will answer if they can find it.

CW Pricing Thread - need help finding out the release status/recent sale price of a CW that you're interested in buying or selling second-hand? This new thread can help. Post the item in question, ping the group (link to join the ping group is in the first post), and someone will try to help get you a price/price-range.

You can also find various WIP threads, interest check threads, and assorted other groups through here.

Slotting on Items

Now that you can navigate the threads and join groups, it's time to start slotting on items (if you're so inclined).

Slots/slotting are the terms used when you want to claim a copy of a CW that is on offer. Generally, releasers will ping you to their threads when they have a new item (or items) up for sale. They show you a preview of the item as well as explain how much each slot (copy) will cost. Cost is often based on what category an item must be submitted in (total submission cost is determined by Subeta), while factoring in that the releaser (who is often not the artist), must charge enough to cover their artist's free copy.

Most items are not offered unlimited because there is often not enough interest to bother doing that. Items cannot get on site if you cannot fill a first batch unless the releaser is willing to pay out more money than they've already spent getting the item made. Often that is not feasible for most folks. There is an alternate option to taking slots, which is a Direct-to-Shops method. However, if you must provide an artist's copy and you'd also like a copy for yourself, it is often unrealistic in most cases to do this as well (more on that later).

If you caught a slot (IE, there were 8 spaces available and you were one of the first 8 to post), you will get a payment ping when the releaser submits the item to the site for approval. The site handles all of those. Once the item is submitted and slots and slot prices are assigned, it sends out automatic pings which will take you to the Payments page.

At that point, you can see which item you were assigned to pay for, how much the payment is, and either pay for the slot or reject. If you reject, your slot will be removed and will be put in the submitter's name by default. They do not always get notice of this (I think it's a glitch, not really sure). Please do not reject an item you requested a slot on. If you cannot pay, need more time to pay, or no longer want the item, please go back to the person whose item you claimed and tell them! Most people are willing to work with you to a point. If it is a frequent issue, they may stop allowing you to claim on their items.

Please note that it is AGAINST SITE RULES to publicly post any sort of "blacklist" or "ban list". It is also against the rules to share any private list you may have of people who have been banned/blacklisted. I have never seen anyone in the community doing so, but I just want to reiterate that it is not allowed by the site as it is considered targeted harassment.

Once an item has been paid for by all slotted parties, it will go into the approval/denial queue. At that point, how long it takes to reach you is determined by the staff and how busy they are. Sometimes the queue has a high volume of submissions and items take longer to approve or deny. Please remember that staff has a life outside of Subeta, so they may take some time to get to each item.

If the item is approved, you get a ping to your events bar that says "The custom clothing item ____ has been approved and a copy has been placed in your Inventory." Congrats! You now own a (hopefully) awesome new wearable that you can add to your wardrobe.

If an item is rejected, you will also get a notice to your events bar, it is usually along the lines of "A custom clothing item ____ that you paid for was denied. CSC has been returned to your account."

Depending on the denial reasons, the releaser may or may not ping all of the people slotted to their thread to let them know how long fixing the problems will take. Generally, if the denial is for something small/simple and will not change the look of the CW, they probably won't ping and will instead resubmit as soon as the adjustments are made (in which case you'll get a new payment ping request in your event bar). If the changes are major, they will often ping to let you know it's being worked on, and generally again once the fixes are finished so that you may confirm you are still interested (or not) in the altered item.

Redeeming Invites and Buying Via CW Shops

In a lot of cases, batches won't fill completely, so releasers will move their item into their CW Shop and issue invites to folks who claimed a slot and was in an unfilled batch. When that happens, Subeta generates a unique sMail sent to the slotter with a password to be allowed to purchase the locked item from the user's CW Shop.

When you open the sMail, the password is in bold. I recommend just copy/pasting that password as it's a random string of numbers and letters. Once you've copied it, the sMail also provides a link to the user shop and clicking it will take you directly to the item. You enter the password (or paste it if you copied) into the box provided and click the yellow purchase button. Do not click twice, have patience and you will see a green boxed pop-up that tells you that your purchase went through. Once that appears, you can navigate to your inventory to find your copy.

If an item is not locked, you can just click to purchase. Within a user's shop, you can click on any of the categories to see their assorted items.

Shop Search and CW Shops:

loves us and has fixed shop searches. Now, when you perform a shop search on a CW and there is one in CW Shops and you click "Go" to head to it, you are taken directly to the item you were looking for. It also technically takes you to the category the item is in, but the only item that will be visible is the one you were searching. You can see which category you're in by checking the categories section at the top of the page - the one you are on will be bolded and if you'd like to see all of the items in that category, you need only click the category name.

Clicking "Go" will not purchase the item automatically - instead it takes you into the user's CW Shop at which point you will click the large green "Purchase" button. CW Shops are different from user shops where items are priced in CSC, and you can tell the difference when in the shop search. CW Shops have a kind of light beige background and say "Custom Wearable Shop" rather than any kind of shop name. Standard user shops have a goldenrod background and a shop name chosen by the user, and instead of saying "Go" the item says "Buy". If the item is in your user shop (not to be confused with your CW Shop), it will have a light blue background and the option for the item will say "Move" rather than "Go" or "Buy" (see the spoiler for screenshots).

Searching CW Shops Only

Thanks to - we have a way to search specifically within the CW Shops to see what is available for purchase. We're still waiting on the directory, which will allow users to browse all CWs ever approved, but this is pretty handy and possibly more effective for folks who only want to browse available to buy CWs!

When on the CW Shops Main Page, there is a link at the top called "Browse/Search" and clicking it takes you to a special search area that will restrict your search specifically to items in CW Shops. Within that, it is automatically set to exclude any locked (and therefore not available for immediate purchase) items. You can tick a box to allow it to include locked items if you'd like, but leaving it unchecked will bring up all of the items immediately available for purchase with no password required! You can leave the term box empty and leave the layer set to all and it will show every item currently for purchase in cw shops (paginated with so many items per page). This also links you to the shop should you wish to purchase the item. Items are listed by itemID from newest backwards to oldest approved.

Smaller Batch Submissions, Direct-to-Shop, Later Batches, CW Shops, and Invites

Smaller Batch Submissions - the rules changed this last year, and now all batches are submitted at 5 slots each. This has meant a reduction in submission cost (wigs were 5000 previously, with 10 copies to slot, and are now 2500 with only 5 copies to slot). This affects whether or not it's cheaper to use the standard submission method vs the direct-to-shop method. In general, even if you're planning to submit an item as unlimited, it makes more sense now to submit it as a standard item (with slots) than to use the d-t-s method.

Pricing Breakdowns: 1000 csc submission cost category, standard submission nets you 5 copies; 1300 csc submission cost for direct-to-shop, nets you 1 copy. As you can see, it would give you less (and cost you more) to use Direct here.

1500 csc submission cost category, standard submission nets you 5 copies; 1400 csc submission cost for direct-to-shop, nets you 1 copy. You pay 100 csc more, but get 4 additional copies (which is less than you'd spend buying a second copy from your shop if you owe your artist a copy and want one for yourself). Again, much cheaper method than Direct.

2000 csc submission cost category, standard submission nets you 5 copies; 1500 csc submission cost for direct-to-shop, nets you 1 copy. So, it's a 500 csc difference, but again, you get 4 additional copies. Items you submit in this category tend slot for 500 csc. If you sell one of the 4 spares, you've made up the difference in submission costs. If you sell all 4 spares (assuming you don't owe your artist a copy or you're willing to wait to get your copy later), you've made up the entire submission cost. It's still, in my opinion, a better method than Direct.

2500 csc submission cost category, standard submission nets you 5 copies; 1600 csc submission cost for direct-to-shop, nets you 1 copy. Here it's a much bigger difference than before (900 csc). Even with needing to provide an artist copy, your total cost for doing direct here would only amount to 2100 csc vs the 2500 (minimum price you can set in your shop would be 600 csc - if you send the artist the copy that comes with approval, then purchase one for yourself at 600, you'll receive 100 csc back from the system for the purchase). It is cheaper to submit this way, especially for items you're not sure are actually going to sell many copies. However...if you think the item will sell, I'd still recommend submitting the standard way and paying the 2500 csc. If you sell 3 copies at 600 csc each, you'd make 1800 csc back - and only have a cost in at 700 csc. Even if you sold them at 500 csc each, you'd still be getting back 1500 of your 2500 spent, leaving you only 1000 in the hole on submission, which is less than the 1600. If you don't have to provide an artist copy, you'd be looking at getting back 2000-2400 of your submission cost (depending on whether you'd priced at 500 or 600 csc for each copy).

Methods for selling these spare copies: Trading Center - toss the copies into trade lots, put your asking price per copy as the description. User Shops - you can toss the copies into any user shop you have (not galleries) and price them in CSC now. Only CWs are able to be priced in CSC, make sure you choose the correct pricing box. They're differentiated from regular shop items priced in sP, anything that is being sold for CSC has a gold coin to the right of the price (my shop for an example of how they look when priced in csc).

Direct-to-Shop refers to items that are never slotted and are submitted for approval at a lower cost (somewhat, as it must be covered entirely by the submitter - more on that at the end) and only available for release/purchase through the submitter's CW Shop. Items submitted this way are automatically given the designation of 'unlimited' although the user may choose to limit the number of copies available for purchase, whether for temporary reasons or permanent ones. If an item fails to fill enough slots to submit to site without a higher cost, some people may opt to use the direct-to-shop option**. At this point, regardless of the site's designation, they are bound by whatever batches they set when trying to release the item (IE if they said an item would only be a single batch, which is 10 copies, they cannot sell more copies just because the shop sets it as unlimited; they must manually set the number of copies available to whatever they said it would be, minus the copy issued when it was approved - which would be 9 in the case of a single batch). **This has had a rule clarification from staff - if you state publicly anywhere that your item will only be 10 copies, you can no longer submit d-t-s if your initial batch of 5 doesn't fill. You must still submit it through the batching system and set the max copies to 10 or you can be frozen for scamming. Items previously submitted this way were grandfathered in because the rule was unclear, but this is not allowed for any new submissions (new items or recolors). (as I mentioned above though, it's generally cheaper in the long run to not do any kind of direct-to-shop submissions anyhow)

Locked Items - there are a variety of reasons an item may appear as 'locked' in a user CW Shop (there is a box asking for a password beneath the item name and the purchase button is yellow rather than green). A lot of people who move additional batches to their shop after the initial approval will 'lock' the item until those who asked for slots have been able to purchase their copy. Sometimes the items are private or have special designations. Some releasers will have notes in the shop's description area.

I'll use my shop as an example: Reaper's CW Shop

Immediately beneath the categories, there's a large box which has the name of my shop, as well as a link to my thread, a note that you are welcome to comment me regarding locked items, and spoilers which contain some information regarding the release status/retirement status of some items. Not all shops are set up like this, some have no notes. You can see the HA for the shop owner as well as the username just to the left of all of this. Most releasers do not get upset if you comment asking for the status of locked items (please look for notes on that shop main page first, as some do request not to be contacted regarding them). If you don't see any information or links, click through to their profile and leave them a comment. Please remember to be polite. If they tell you an item is locked because it is private/exclusive, please respect that. Generally, if you are polite and respectful, they will be polite and respectful back. I ask about things all the time and I've never had a single person get testy with me.

Invites - these can be issued for locked items. If an item is locked so that those who slotted can collect their copy first, the submitter sets a master password, then clicks into a link to issue invites to people. The password for each issued invite is randomized by the site and an automatically generated sMail will be sent to the user. They can follow the link within that mail directly to the user shop, click the item they have an invite for, and type in (or copy/paste because that is easier) the password they received in the mail into the prompt box. The process is the same regardless of the reason for the item being locked.

A Side-Note about Direct-to-Shop

Direct-to-Shop items range in submission cost from 1200 csc (the absolute tiniest of items, though certain things like tattoos and makeup are not allowed to be submitted in this category, no matter how small/simple), all the way up to 1600 to submit. When an item is approved that way, it comes with an unlimited number you can sell, but the item is bound completely to the releaser's CW shop. The submission price comes with 1 single copy of the item, which you typically send to your artist if you did not create the CW yourself. Unfortunately, this means you must purchase a copy out of your CW shop for your own wardrobe. The minimum price in your shop is determined by Subeta. If an item is a 5000 csc submission category (IE a wig, which is always at 5000 to submit), it would cost the relaser 1600 to direct to shop it. When it is approved, the minimum price it can be set for in shops is 600 csc. They cannot set it lower. If a copy sells, the releaser whose shop it is in gets the total amount above the base submission price (so, for 10 copies of an item that takes 5000 to submit, the base price is 500 csc - the minimum allowed shop price is 600 csc. If they sell a copy at that price, they receive 100 csc). In order to provide the artist copy as well as their own copy, they've paid out 2100 csc (1600 to submit + 600 to purchase, less the 100 csc they receive as a 'return' on their purchase). In order to just break even on the submission alone, they must sell 21 copies of an item at the minimum price. This is why direct to shop is not quite as easy or prevalent as we'd all hoped it would be. Even for artists, this can be discouraging, as they have to sell a fair number of copies to just recoup the submission cost. None of this includes the cost of having an item actually commissioned, or the hours an artist invested working on the item. CWs are a labor of love. We have them made/make them because we like/want them, but please understand that it is a very expensive process in the long run, and we are not making anything off of it.

There's a great guide with a lot more in-depth information about terminology, the processes involved on both the buying and selling sides, as well as cost breakdowns located here: PSA About the CW Process. And one as well for buying that includes more in-depth terminology and some linked screenshots: PSA About the CW Buying Process

FAQS:

Where can I find the Custom Wearables Main Page? That is located in the drop-down menu for the cash shop, in a section entitled Custom Wearables. From there, you can access all the pages necessary to create and manage any wearables you have released as well as access the main page for the CW Shops (it is the last option in that page's menu, located in a navigation bar on the left side of the screen).

What if a user is frozen (or quits)? Can we still buy from their CW Shop? The short answer is yes. The longer answer is, it depends on whether the item was priced and left unlocked. If an item was priced and not locked, and it has remaining copies, it will still appear in the user's shop. If it was locked or not yet priced, it is unfortunately gone unless the user gets their account unfrozen.

How can I find a specific user's CW Shop? The web address is: https://subeta.net/cw_shop.php/USERNAME Just replace the "username" portion with their actual username. If they have a shop, it will load!

How do I submit batches? See the spoiler below for an image and descriptive guide:

Submission Step-by-Step Click or Drag the images to open them larger:

The second image shows mine being a recolor (you can choose from your approved items in the dropdown menu if you have them). It's default state is "Not a Recolor" and you leave it like that if it's a new item. It also has the checkbox for whether you want to use direct-to-shop (I did not for this), and if not, you can choose to leave it selected as "Unlimited" or you can give it a total number of copies (these are always in multiples of 10, you cannot select 5, 15, 25, etc - you must choose 10, 20, 30, etc). When you're releasing items, if you choose to slot and you don't plan to have the item unlimited, you must be honest about how many copies you plan to release. You cannot say "One batch" because it's not possible to submit the item as one batch on the site (since a batch is only 5 copies). Minimum allowed is two batches. You can, however, say you'll only be slotting one batch. If you do that, you need to make yourself a note so that you do not ever release more than the 5 copies you promised.

In the third image, there's a large white box for submission notes (if you/your artist used a reference, you need to provide it here - it must be uploaded online somewhere so you can link it; you also put any changes to the item if it's a tribute to a copywrited property).

The fourth image is what the payment page will look like. You're automatically filled in on the top line along with the full submission cost. You can edit it to whatever you'll need to pay after you've filled in the people who asked for a slot and the cost that they are paying each (so if you slotted those tights at 500 csc each, you'd have put yourself at 0, taken 4 slotters at 500 each, and filled in their usernames with 500 in the price box each, which would cover the submission). The totals in that box must add up to at least the total it's asking of you. If it goes over, you'll be credited any profit if/when the item is approved.

How do I submit additional batches or move an item to my CW Shop? Does it keep track of the number of copies for me? How do I see what recolors I have made or approve an item to allow further recolors? How do I know what items I've retired or sold out? You can go here to see any items that you've submitted that aren't either fully retired (I.E., you submitted with a batch limit and fulfilled it) or already in your shop. From there, you can slot additional batches (if you have more than one full batch), or you can click the link provided under the item to move it to your CW Shop, at which point, it will appear there for pricing etc (and if you submitted as unlimited, you'll be able to change the amount of available copies the same as you would for an item you'd submitted direct-to-shop). There are additional navigation options on the Custom Wearables page for recolors and retirements as well.

See an image guide and description below.

Additional Batches and Other Custom Wearable Page Categories Click or Drag the images to open them larger:

Finding your Approved Items: On the Custom Wearables main page, you will see a category in the navigation bar labeled "Active Items" - clicking there will show you all of your items that are already approved and still have available batches for slotting. From this page, you can slot additional batches up to the number you submitted as the limit, move the item(s) to your CW Shop, or Retire Permanently any items. The actions available are clearly labeled.

Editing Slots: Within the same navigation bar, you will also see a section labeled "Edit Slots" and that is where you can go to see any batches you have submitted that are awaiting full payment - from there you can see who has not paid yet and can make edits to the slot pricing and/or the users who are slotted if you need to.

Managing Recolors: The "Recolors" tab is where you'll find everything you need to see and manage your recolors. If you have new items approved that are not recolors, they will appear on this page with an option to either list them as a recolor of a previously approved item or "Activate" the item to allow recolors to be listed under it (I'm sorry, I don't have any new items to show what that looks like, but there's a screenshot of the main page):

If you click the link within the blue box at the top of the Recolors page, you'll be taken to a paginated list of all of your items in alphabetical order - the original submitted item will appear on the left under the heading "Original" and all recolors will be listed to the right:

Seeing your Retired Items: Retired/Sold Out items you have released now have a listing within the Custom Wearables main page as well, under the category "Retirements". Once there, you'll see two categories. The first is "Retired Items" and it lists every item you have manually retired (either via the Active Items page or through your CW shop choosing the "retire" option):

The second category option may require a bit of scrolling (depending on how many items you have released and retired) and is entitled "Sold Out". This lists every item that has fulfilled all of the available batches/copies you submitted it with (ie - if you submitted an item as a max of 10 copies and you slotted all 10 slots and everyone paid, the item will not appear in Active and will not be available in your shop, but it will appear in this section of the list):

How do I move items to my CW Shop and what do I do next? How do I manage my shop and make categories and descriptions? How do I tell my shop followers that I put a new item in the shop? As seen in previous spoiler images, the option to move CWs (provided they have remaining batches) appears directly under the item on your Active Items page. Once you move an item, you can head over to your CW Shop in order to set pricing, lock an item (if you need to), and send out notices.

See an image guide and description below.

CW Shop Management and Notices Click or Drag the images to open them larger: Moving a CW to your CW Shop and Managing your CW Shop: As mentioned above, you can move CW(s) to your CW Shop via the Active Items section. Once there, you can control the number of copies available for purchase (if an item was submitted as unlimited, otherwise the number of available copies is locked to how many you have left after slotting) as well as the price (base minimum price is listed beneath the price section, you can set the price at that or above depending on what you said pricing would be during release). If you wish to break your items into more categories than the default "Unsorted" you can select from a drop-down list of your current categories. You may also assign items a password to lock them and issue invites (invite management for specific items is just below the password box for each item). There is also the option to permanently retire an item all the way to the right of each item.

Navigation for CW Shops is at the top of each page. Along with basic shop management (which is where you can price items, etc), there is a "Manage Categories" option. That is where you are able to enter a shop description (in the Unsorted category description box, that will appear whenever someone navigates directly to the main page of your shop). You can also create additional categories with which to organize your items, and each created category gives you the option to include a specific description for that category. Your main shop description will not show up there unless you copy the coding into each category box. You can also provide a completely different description for each category if you choose.

Additionally, there is a navigation tab entitled "Your Followers" at the top of the shop navigation. It is from there that you can see who follows your shop and also send out message alerts to let them know about newly added items or when you're planning to retire items (if you choose to do that).

As for keeping track of copies - if you choose to limit the number of available batches/copies, you do that during submission (instead of leaving it at unlimited, you pick a number, in a multiple of 10). When you do that, the site automatically sets that as a hard limit. If/when you reach that number of copies submitted through the batching system or bought from your shop, it no longer allows you to sell more.

I added a link to the Buying PSA as well! Your thread and shop are similarly designed to mine, so for now I'll leave it be, but if I'll poke at you if that changes! (but if you run across a shop/thread that are different from our setups please do poke me and I'll add more examples in! I can't remember whose are designed differently and I ran out of energy for hunting so far haha)

Thanks! I know it's a little long but I tried to be comprehensive.

Thanks very much for putting this together! It definitely helped, especially with the information about "Direct to Shop" submissions. Hopefully the CW shops can be revamped soon to make navigation easier for everyone. And I hope this thread can be stickied so that more people can find it!

look, may be helpful for you! All the info in one place. :)

Wow, I just read over it rn, but it looks very complete! This will be really helpful for people just trying to dive into CWs. I just tried to explain loads of this myself via smail a few days ago - showed me how many things actually are unclear if you're not used to them. If you need help with collecting screenshots, tell me. If you are better at visualizing things they help alot. Also I think some parts are very intuitive if you see the page. Great work really!

Looking for some previous years Melody items. Especially books and minions. Happy to trade!

This is really amazing and incredibly helpful, thank you so so so much for taking the time to put all of this together! And also to for the PSA documents (that was exactly what I was unclear about the first time I slotted haha, I mad rushed to claim a slot and realized I had no idea what the rest of the payment/approval process was! 😆)

Also just want to take this opportunity to thank all those who have been responding to and answering questions, you're efforts to help make the CW community more approachable and accessible are greatly appreciated ❤

[edit] Mini/personal kind of question here: If a locked item is in the user shop of a user who has quit, are those copies of the item then frozen/no longer available? I would guess so but was just hoping there might still be a way to buy them ^^

I'm so glad it seems more helpful than too long/daunting!

Reykur - I debated including screenshots, but decided against it because the document was already going to be long and I wanted to make sure the page loaded easily. There are screenshots in the PSA for buying document I linked that Yethi created!

Thank you ❤️ I started it yesterday and finished it off today. I had to keep reopening tabs because I'd close them all 'oh I don't need this now' and then realize I needed the links for things haha.
