Soooo as I was writing reply's for my other board I had picked up my dog and carried him over my laptop to put him on the floor and he decided to let one go and peed all over my laptop keys so now im in need of a new laptop-_-

What I am looking for is one that can handle pc games decently and one that I can use for school as well that can run office

I am going to town tomorrow and maybe looking at best buy but any suggestions is helpful!

i suggest the brands Toshiba, Gateway or Lenovo - i have an ASUS (which is a sold brand too) but it's lower end and i don't do much by way of gaming on it Please for the love of god stay away from HP and Dell they're dumpster fires

also, are you wanting to run AAA games or just smaller ones? (ie the witcher vs mincraft) that'll really affect price range :x if you're going to a shop like best buy or something let me know your price range and i can look up some specific models :D

I second the opinion of staying away from HP. Not a computer wiz, but I've got a decent Acer laptop running for basic games. The only downside is it slowed down quite a bit after a year or two. :/

I've had nothing but bad luck with ASUS. I actually love my old Dell I had that thing running strong for 7+ years (until I accidentally ripped the screen off)

Not because we should, because we could.

FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS SACRED, DO NOT GO AMD CHIPS. Those things can short out and you can lose the entire system whereas Intel has fail safes to keep that from happening.

[edit]WRONG PERSON PINGED. SORRY! Yikes. No one saw that.

Toshiba and Acer have always been my favorite brands. I have an HP now and I don't like it, but it was only $200 last year so I got it :P

I have a Samsung that is almost on its third year, and still going strong! I've had Acer and HP in the past and wasn't super fond of either.

I've heard good things about ASUS and Dell too.

just for skyrim and stuff ^^ and i have a toshiba now but when i first got it, it had so many problems with not wanting to open word and stuff like that until I had two different people fix it then it worked great, (also had to get the keyboard replaced like in 2 months of using it too >< so im very hesitant on another toshiba xD and price range is about 800 most which is still pushing it but I need one for school;_;

2 for toshiba! maybe ill look into another toshiba, I prolly got the bad luck when I first got mine xD (story about my bad luck in respond above) and I was looking at acers but I dont think bestbuy has affordable ones><

AMD CHIPS? :o

I've had very good luck with Toshiba's... I've dropped them, took them traveling with me, etc, and they always survived. You can definitely get an Acer for less than $800. I'm not sure which is better for gaming, you might want to do some Google searches on that, but I know that both of them can handle Office :)

Processors. They can be broken on certain level impacts, if there's enough of a fluctuation in power, etc.

Daaaaaaang, that's a nice system. Except you did see at the bottom of the specifications that it has no internal CD/DVD drive?

Do yourself a solid and build your own machine (or pick what you want and ask a pro to build it)

Dell dumpster fire? My computer survived 12 years and it's a Dell. My current computer is a Dell and I play Minecraft and decent games ha ha (I use my MSI for crazy games but I rarely have the luxury to use it ...)
