So I'm sitting at the laptop, working on a writing project, when the husband texts me as he always does on his first work break of the day. He always pings me to touch base, say he loves me, stuff like that.

Got me thinking about all the little things we try to do for each other and how cherished it makes me feel. I know he'll always text me from work, and call me on his lunch break. He knows I'll always try to have some sort of dinner ready for him when he gets home, and that i'll stay up to greet him at the door even though he doesn't get home until after 1:30 am.

So, what sort of things do you do for your sweetie? How do you take a moment to try and show them how important they are in your life?

I wake up super early with him and make him breakfast every morning. I also pack him a lunch, and sometimes I'll put in a surprise message or something sweet as a fun treat. He does a lot of small things like always filling up the gas in my car for me, making sure I have covers on at night (i throw them off and then get cold), texting throughout the day. Always makes me smile <3

I shower my boyfriend with pictures of my dog. Does that count?

(there are other things we do - we love to play various types of games together [video games, card games, RPGs...], sometimes get each other nice little gifts, and so on.)

of course it counts :) i'm sure it makes him smile to see them!

You bet it counts! Glad to see we're not the only ones that love playing videogames together too.

I like to make sure he knows I love his mom and take care of her as well! Or feed him lolz.

My boyfriend and I are long distance while I'm in school, so he almost always calls me after work and we send each other sappy goodnight texts. Less cute, but we also send each other dog memes throughout the day lol.

If he's had a hard week at work, I often go do his dishes. Sometimes I clean his whole flat. We both hate cleaning but I don't mind doing it for him.

When he comes visit me, I try to make sure I have his favourite radio station playing. (He's totally obsessed with BBC 6 Music, lol.)

And we both do little things like bring each other tea/food from the kitchen so the other person doesn't have to get up from the couch. <3

I refill his pill box when it gets low (he has an autoimmune disease and takes 6 pills and supplements a day - and he's only 24 ;_; ), massage his back, give him my blanket when it's chilly in the morning, and of course send him any pictures of cute animals/funny memes I find.

He sends me I love you texts throughout the day. He isn't all that creative, lol. But he will do anything if I ask him to (get dinner started, clean the bathroom, pick up cat food on his way home from work, etc.)

It's the little things. ^_^

I put my cold toes on his side and cackle as he screams in shock then promptly run away laughing like a loon before he can catch me and tickle me in retribution, or even worse, put his cold hands on my side. -shudder- Whuddya mean that's not sweet!! THAT'S THE EPITOME OF LOVE. WARM MY COLD TOES.

I'm the kind of person that focuses on words and touch. So, I'll do silly things like pinch his butt, give him a "seductive" look (it's really just creepy,) or praise and encourage him.

Thankfully, my relationship is partially built on a shared sense of humor. So, I've consider laughing with him throughout the day a sign of our love for each other.

i always wake up at 6:30 every morning to tell my girlfriend good morning, that i love her and that i hope she has a wonderful day. she doesn't wake up until 7-7:15ish but i like her waking up with a good morning beautiful text, so it starts her day off on the right foot.

i write her love letters that i usually give to her before work, or if shes super stressed out because they always seem to smile.

when it turns time for her to get off work, i send her another "drive safe, precious cargo."

i have also learned to cook most recently and despite living at my parent's place, i cook for her at least 5 days out of the week (even if she doesn't come over and eat it with me).

i just love her so much and i know the little things are definitely what make someone feel special.

It really is the small things that make it all worth while.

Every morning I wake up and wake him up with a kiss and a good morning.

When he is working shifts over 6 hours, I'll drive him to work so that I can meet him for lunch and stick around for his final break and pick him up, knowing how hard retail is.

I like to surprise him with little things like his favorite drink (Pipeline Monster, the pink one) or making his favorite food when he's hurting. Even massaging his feet after an 8 hour shift (He's not used to working on his feet. Was a full-time artist until before Dec.)

It seems strange but he loves to watch me play Skyrim at night before bed and vice versa and I do it whenever he's feeling tired.

When he's working on art, I will normally bring him his jasmine green tea or toast some lavender buds to make him some lavender tea. Even made lavender pancakes for him since it's one of his favorite things.

On the weekends, since he works all week long, and works loooooong and hard hours! I make him breakfast in the morning, and bring it to him in bed. I give him tons of kisses until he wakes up. Hehe ;)

We always text each other good morning and good night. It is a ritual I want to definitely keep, I think it's a nice way to show your significant other that you're thinking about them. When I visit my boyfriend and he usually wakes up later than I do, I prepare breakfast so when he gets up we can go ahead and eat :)

To be honest, I can't even begin to list everything he has done for me. Sometimes I feel like I could never repay his kindness, but at other times I notice we both have our flaws, yet we fit each other so well that I feel like all our flaws only bring us closer to each other xD

I'd say the major thing is that we both spend a lot of time together - and whenever we are together we are nearly inseparable.. it's just so much fun! We both absolutely love to cuddle and love physical contact, so I say one other thing is that we watch different things together and play stuff together, or at least we try to :D (it gets difficult to find something we both enjoy since our tastes vary... he did like a few anime I showed him - and I ended up loving the hunger games!)

My boyfriend always texts me good morning and he doesn't even know but I really love when he does this! We also text each other good night and we say how much we love each other before going to sleep. And because we are in a long distance relationship there are some small things we do together, like watching some tv shows on Netflix at the same time, so we can comment about what is happening, and also play MMORPG hahaha

Oooh, I love this. I walk the dog for her. She works crazy hours at the moment so I take the dog out on walks, and send her photos. I leave her little notes on the chalk board from the dog that she can read and smile at when she gets home. She seems to love it.

That and I play my guitar to wake her up in the mornings. I wrote her a song once, and sang it to her when i brought her coffee, and she cried (i think good cry)

I'm really not super sappy. My fiance is really more of the super lovey-dovey one. But there are plenty of times when I know he has had a horrible or frustrating week so I'll make a special dinner for him. Or if I see something that reminds me of him I order or buy it for him.

Most of time time my love isn't shown though cute gestures though. I'm really more of the advice giver or protector.

I don't have a specific SO because I maintain really close platonic relationships that kinda act like relationships?

I remind my two closests to take their meds every morning and send them a meme. What a world where I believe this is a sweet thing ;u;

I make my husbands lunch for work in the morning, and I leave a note with a different short love poem inspired by him in it. :-)
