My husband and I always pre-purchase movie tickets the other has mentioned they'd like to see. So we got home and surprised each other with movie night.

When my SO goes on an underway, he always goes out of his way to do the dishes, take out the trash, and clean up little details in the apartment that I usually miss (I hate wiping down the stove or dusting, for example.), and so on. I'll sneak little snacks or notes into his bag or in the pockets of his coveralls.

I make him healthy lunches for work, sew up his clothes when he inevitably blows out a crotch or hits a snag, and give back massages and scratches. I've also been hunting down speak-easys and surprising him during our dates.

I think his favorite thing I do for him though is make midwestern food and treats so that he can feel more at home.

Honestly, this post makes me look/feel really domestic, which is a funny vibe to consider since I'm not really like that.

Casual and perpetually coming back.

My husband and I spend a lot of our time apart sending memes to each other. It's honestly a love language for us, just trying to make the other one laugh.

I work part time while my husband works full time. Every day after work, I clean the house. Clean the litterboxes, vacuum, dishes, laundry, etc.

After cleaning is done, I make dinner and set aside leftovers for his lunch. It gives him time when he gets home to unwind by drawing or playing games.

He surprises me with bottles of juice or chocolate milk! :D Some of my friends have laughed at this, but I absolutely love drinks.

Every time one of us goes to the grocery store alone we always bring back the other a few surprises. We present them in a dramatic way when we return too. It's typically little things like their favorite candies, drink, something they mentioned in passing, etc.

My husband lost his job on my Mom's birthday in 2023, just months before he proposed. He has found a part-time retail job since then to get him to stop the gap on his resume (he's still looking for a full-time job in his sector of expertise), but it has really taken a toll on his spirits, so he can't even tell me what he normally makes himself for food, and on top of that, he has braces at the moment. So it really limits what he normally loves to snack on.

When I'm at the store, I try to find things he likes and bring them home with me. Trader Joe's has these dark chocolate coated marshmallows and he took a liking to them when he decided to try them one day, so whenever I get to go there, I make sure to grab him a box. I love his face when I surprise him with them. He gets so surprised and says thank you.

He is the healthiest relationship that I have ever had, and we are a team. I love to find little sweet ways to remind him how grateful I am for him, because I know he's grateful for me too. We have such similar pasts it's like we've known each other our whole lives. <3

I asked him just now, and he said "sometimes you go out of your way to do things even though you're tired, like taking the car for repairs, because I've had enough and don't want to deal with it."

He takes on a lot of home tasks since I'm both chronically ill (and inconsistently abled) and, with my work, our primary income. But sometimes it's clear he's feeling overwhelmed, so.

My spouse fills my water bottle with filtered water (because I hate the taste of tap water) and puts ice in it for me. He does this whenever he notices my water is getting low, because he wants me to stay hydrated. It's very sweet. For him, I bake his favorite treats since he has a sweet tooth.

I cook dinner every night and make sure to make some things for their lunch on the weekends so it's one less thing to worry about for them.

I put the blanket on him when he falls asleep, and I plug in his phone and make sure his head isn't at a weird angle and that he's actually laying on a pillow. (he's a heavy sleeper lol)

I bake special treats that aren't something I would eat. It gives me a chance to try out different things without it going to waste.

I make sure to have their pajamas ready for when they get home from work. If it's really cold I'll heat it up in the drier for a bit too.

I always drop whatever I'm doing to give him a hug and kiss as soon as he walks in the door from work. Same for when he's on his way to bed (I stay up later than he does). We alternate days for certain chores, but if one of us notices the other is especially tired/over it we will cover each other's days. If he falls asleep on the couch or at his desk, I make sure he properly gets to bed so he doesn't wake up with a sore neck or back. I also like to occasionally tidy his desk, leave him love notes, and frequently send him sappy/funny memes and videos. We have our own Discord server where we post places we want to go, food we want to try, etc. I can be a bit of a crybaby at times (happy or sad; emotions just overwhelm me), and he always brings me ice water and tissues after I'm done getting my feelings out. We also love sharing our snacks with each other. We try to take walks together frequently and always make time to listen to each other yap about whatever we've been interested in lately. I like to bake him cakes and cookies.

Mine have no S.O. (S.O. what?!), zo instead of wasting time effort an resources on an ungrateful waif mine give that to the few irl friends mine does have.

Mine have no use for a "woman's approval", it's an empty promise.

Old, and obsolete.
