Hey everyone, we've re-added the post limit to topics on the forums to help increase the speed of loading on megathreads. There is now a 5,000 post limit, at which point the thread will automatically not allow anymore posts.
At that point, you should go ahead and make another thread, even if that one is still on the front page. Rules will be updated across the site shortly to reflect this change.

This is a super idea and I'm glad to see it implemented. Thank you!

Anything that will help the site run/load faster. Thanks for the update ~
Thanks for the update. c:
ok, thank you for info, and yeah it takes only 4 refresh to read, cause site down, down, down ...

Honestly, am I the only one this disappoints? Eventually, my recent topics, which I use to easily access my topics I use for releasing, etc., is going to become cluttered...
Is it possible to implement a bookmark feature for forums (kind of like subscribed threads only you don't get a ping every time someone posts)? Something that would have a dropdown like recent topics, etc. That way we could choose which forums to bookmark and have them in one spot that's easily accessible instead of digging through what will become many recent topics to find the ones we want? Or maybe even the ability to just remove topics from our recent topics list?
Unpopular opinion, but I don't understand why forums really had to be changed to begin with? We've had more problems with the "updated" ones than we ever did with the old ones, I feel?
~ CW Group ✰ CW Releasing Thread ✰ My CS ✰ CW Wishes ~This was a problem with the old forums too, and comes back to us just not limiting things like we should. The new forums load data much faster, and if the site weren't lagging right now that would be clear. We've had some problems with them over the first few days of launching for fringe features.
I'd recommend using the bookmark feature of your browser for this, it's built for organizing pages better than something we'd build ourselves :)

Could there be a way (or have a type of warning) that our thread is at the 5k limit? I wish there could be a way to "reset" threads instead of starting from the beginning.
I don't mind the change but to me, the site and the forums are loading slowly like molasses. Glad the site is getting some attention and being worked on tho.
Thanks for the update.

is there going to be any way to keep track of how many posts there is left for a thread without us having to manually count?
i really like 's idea of bookmarks w/o a post update ping. i too use my recent topics to keep track of threads i use and for pl who are more active than me and do this can be a major issue
If you go to the threads page it shows how many post are on a thread before you go to it :)

I expected to restart our cult (soon forum group) thread by the beginning of the year and the end of the cults. Just had to do it a little sooner. Hope this helps with lag and loading.
“Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are.” - Benjamin Franklin
"Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people, making widows their prey and robbing the orphan." - Isaiah 10:1-2
Honestly thank you for this! I did notice a big difference with forum loading times in between all the lag going on from the server move and things lately and I'm happy for anything to keep them loading faster.
You could subscribe to the threads you want to keep track of, and turn off notifications? [edit: I missed where you mentioned subscriptions, but I feel like turning off the notifications is still a relevant suggestion lol] I do that for my own threads because I rarely subscribe to anything and I can't ever seem to find my relevant threads. Or make a thread inside a group forum to keep your links updated on
totally agreeing with this! sure, we can bookmark things on our computers, but people do use different computers/devices and can't always go on the same one all our bookmarks are on ^^ to be able to have the feature on the actual site would be beneficial, no matter where we are or which device we are using to access subeta
