MAN i don't mind this at all, but for nostalgia's sake i'll miss the super old threads. but that's not really a valid reason to keep 'em big n clunky like they are. there have been so many issues with really old, really big threads (pings not going to the right posts or pages, pings not working, etc) that i'm tbh really glad of this.
this is more for curiosity than anything important atm, but what's the rate that old threads get deleted at (or do they at all at this point)? will only "full" threads be deleted? will they potentially be archived (is that even doable)? am i totally jumping the gun and this hasn't been nailed down yet? :'D
edit: (bc i was typin up all my garbage and more posts happened meanwhile i rolled up on page 2 like wow i didnt realize so many posts derp) there is totes a bookmark feature!! altho tbh it might not be what you guys mean/had in mind, but i use it & the notepad widget on the sidebar;

...ignore the 26 & 3/4 inches thats how tall my new desk has to be
the bookmarks can be a little chunky on the side of the page, which is why mine are titled with abbreviations to make them just little nubs. i do rly like them though, more than i would a drop-down or just adding extra links to the notepad, but that's just me obv wuiohgiwhg
yeah i've already got a shit ton of bookmarks LOL
ty for suggesting tho :D
had no clue about the notepad tho! i'll check that out :)
EFOIHWEIGUHWEG ITS SO MANY!!!!! YEAH the notepad takes bbcode tho which is why i like it, you can just url= the crap out of it and font size if you want to and call it a day, its my absolute fav thing tbh
Yeah I've got oodles of bookmarks already lol but it can get so cluttered and I feel like it's not v efficient if we're going to be making a new thread every 5k
That's so funny, I remember being kinda disappointed when the forums went to unlimited posts. It will be nice to not see threads with 15,000+ notes anymore. thumbs up
Super pleased to get rid of my old clunky thread.
I'm all about the site loading faster.
RE: Bookmarks, I recommend using a browser like Chrome or Safari that can sink across your devices, or use the notepad or something else on site.
We're really trying to avoid remaking features on the site that are done better by your browser, and bookmarks is a great example of that.
You can watch threads and turn off notifications on them, as well.
💖 ✨ 🤗
thanks for the update, hopefully it'll help...

You can subscribe to a thread and just opt out of getting notifications for it. It puts them all on their own page here. Basically a bookmark page for forum topics :)
I think this is a good thing. 250+ pages of image heavy posts is a lot of strain, and it's reasonable to cut that down imo.
Nice idea, thank you for the update! ;)
I totally understand. Now that the lag isn't as bad, the forums are definitely loading much more quickly. xD And that was definitely a good call. I ended up taking everyone else's suggestions and using the notepad widget (I wish I would have known this was a thing sooner) as well as the bookmarks that we already have to get everything all sorted out. Thank you for all the hard work. n_n
Oooh! I never realized that we could turn off notifications for subscriptions... that would have made things a lot easier. xD I use that feature so little at this point that I never really figured that could work.
YOU GENIOUS! I wish I would have know this notepad widget was a thing sooner?? I took all the random crap that I had on my bookmarks before (like CW pawn shop, gift center, and all that fun jazz) and put it there, and moved my forums to the bookmarks on the side. I had it in the notepad and realized I couldn't open them in the same tab and was like oh HELL NAW and I had to move them. cx
~ CW Group ✰ CW Releasing Thread ✰ My CS ✰ CW Wishes ~Yeah I forget it exists a lot of the time until I'm looking for something! I know I keep my most recent R200 thread on there because apparently I make a lot of threads lol.
Oh, yeah or the notepad widget would work for that too. I use mine for other things so I didn't even think about it. Fun fact, you can use spoilers in the notepad widget too
Thanks for letting us know ^_^
As far as the bookmark idea - Yessss notepad <3 Another idea; it would be cool if the forum subscription page had two tabs, one for threads you are subscribed to and get notifications for, and the other for threads you've subscribed to but turned off notifications for. C:
